If you love talking about past and future vacations almost as much as you love actually going on them, this card game Destination Anywhere from TableTopics is for you.
There aren't any rules — it's just you, your friends, and 135 cards printed with conversation starters that all relate to travel. The questions are open-ended enough to invite general answers, but they'll also probably prompt (提示) you to share your most funny stories from previous short trips. “What do you always forget when you're packing for a trip?” may, for example, remind you of the time when you forgot to bring your tent on a week-long hike along the Appalachian Trail. And “Do you prefer making tours or seeing sites on your own?” is practically begging your sister to talk about the time she got lost on a self-guided tour through the Tuscan countryside and was rescued by a kindly old sheep herder. The game is recommended to ages 12 and up, and you can get it on Amazon for $25.
And if the Destination Anywhere edition (版本) doesn't dominate your thoughts, there are plenty of other TableTopics editions that you might want to bring to your next family dinner. The “Geek Pop!” edition ($22) could encourage a lively debate about which of Doctor Who's Doctors has the most memorable catchphrase (名言). “Not Your Mom's Dinner Party” ($25) will keep your guests entertained with questions like “Have you ever been escorted (护送) out by security?” and it is strictly for adults.
The “Family” edition ($25) is a great way to get silent kids to come out of their shells a little. “Would you rather know how to fly a plane, drive a race car, or rock climb?” pretty much guarantees an answer that isn't “Yes,” “No,” or “Good.”
You can browse all the TableTopics card sets on Amazon.
21. What do we know about the game Destination Anywhere?
A. It has some simple rules.
B. It is not suitable for adults to play.
C. It gets people to talk about their trips.
D. It is the cheapest of all the TableTopics card games.
22. Which of the following can help encourage a 10-year-old kid to talk?
A. The “Family” edition.
B. The “Geek Pop!” edition.
C. The “Destination Anywhere” edition.
D. The “Not Your Mom's Dinner Party” edition.
23. What's the purpose of the text?
A. To advise people to talk with others.
B. To encourage people to go on vacation.
C. To recommend the TableTopics card sets.
D. To show how to play the TableTopics card games.

Claire Wyatt, a 24-year-old British volunteer, led eight Cambodians living with disabilities on a 155-mile bike ride from Phnom Penh, the nation's capital, to Siem Reap to raise money and deliver supplies to those in need amid the coronavirus pandemic (新冠病毒大流行).
“Leading this trip was an incredibly special experience for me,” said Claire. “Not only was I inspired by the determination of each and every rider, but also the team taught me every day not to focus on their disability.”
When she was first asked to lead the excursion, Claire admitted, she was feeling nervous about her team traveling such a distance in just a few days, because cycling with a disability can come with added physical and emotional (情感的) challenges.
One team member named Dy, who lost an arm in a landmine ( 地雷) accident, biked using just one arm to balance. Another named Vulta could only pedal on one side due to paralysis from polio ( 脊髓灰质炎). Despite all the difficulties, Claire realized quickly that she didn't have to worry about her team. She saw them deal with rough terrain ( 地形) that she had seen abled cyclists give up on before.
The volunteers covered the distance in just four days, not only helping so many people across the country, but also overcoming huge barriers (障碍) to get there.
“The best thing about this ride is that the riders have all volunteered their time to do this. They are so passionate about Cambodia and raising money for others in need,” said Claire. “The money raised will feed 99 families in Siem Reap.”
Claire recalled her favorite moment of the experience, when one of the cyclists pushed an exhausted teammate up a hill for 2 miles.
“One moment that stood out for me was when Naret, our only female rider, was feeling tired,” she said. “Her fellow rider gently put his hand on her back and pushed her for 2 miles! They were encouraging each other to push through the tiredness.”
24. Why did Claire and eight Cambodians cycle 155 miles?
A. To challenge themselves. B. To help out needy people.
C. To take part in a competition. D. To raise money for the disabled.
25. What worried Claire before the ride?
A. She might be injured on the road. B. She would be unable to lead the team.
C. Her team might be looked down on. D. Her team couldn't finish the course.
26. Which of the following can best describe the team?
A. Confident, passionate and friendly. B. Honest, patient and open-minded.
C. Strong-minded, brave and caring. D. Curious, creative and inspiring.
27. What did Claire think of the journey?
A. It could have taken less time. B. It was amazing and inspiring.
C. It changed her idea about human nature. D. It was more difficult than she had expected.
C
Despite not being documented by researchers since 1968, the sengi (象鼩), a tiny big-eyed mouse with a long tail and a trunk-like nose that's native to Somalia, was rediscovered living in well-preserved habitat in neighboring Djibouti this year, and in quite healthy numbers.
An exploration beginning in 2019 looked to use local knowledge about the sengi from the people of Djibouti who said it was still there. Sure enough, it took only one trap filled with coconut, peanut butter and yeast to find the little guy.
“It was surprising,” said Steven Heritage, a research scientist at Duke University in the US. “When we opened the first trap and saw the little tuft of hair on the tip of its tail, we just looked at one another and couldn't believe it. A number of small mammal (哺乳动物) surveys since the 1970s did not find the Somali sengi in Djibouti — it was indeed a serendipitous discovery.”
One of the least understood members of the 20 species-strong elephant shrew genus (象鼩属), the sengi lives in habitats that are unsuitable for most human activities, allowing it to remain relatively undisturbed and safe.
“Usually when we rediscover lost species, we find just one or two individuals and have to act quickly to try to prevent their extinction,” said Robin Moore, of the Global Wildlife Conservation (GWC) group.
The team set 1, 000 traps and caught 12 of the little shrews while making the first video and photographic documentation of the animal for science. Along with rediscovering the species, the team gathered DNA samples (样本) which later showed the Somali sengi to be more closely related to sengis in other corners of Africa like Morocco and South Africa.
This finding has suggested that the Somali sengi needs to be placed in a new genus — moving from Elephantulus to Galegeeska.
Like all great discoveries in science, the questions answered are only equal to the new mysteries presented, but the researchers' work has highlighted Djibouti as a biodiverse ( 具有生物多样性的)
nation worthy of scientific study. With any luck, perhaps more discoveries are waiting to be made among its desert and salt lakes.
28. What made the finding of the Somali sengi special?
A. It was rediscovered by Somalis.
B. It looked surprisingly different.
C. It reappeared in Africa after more than 50 years.
D. It had become smart enough to avoid being trapped.
29. What does the underlined word “serendipitous” in paragraph 3 mean?
A. Unrealistic. B. Professional. C. Accidental. D. Individual.
30. What does paragraph 4 mainly tell us?
A. How the Somali sengi manages to survive.
B. Why the Somali sengi can live peacefully.
C. How human activities affect the Somali sengi.
D. What environment the Somali sengi should live in.
31. How did the team know the relationships between the Somali sengi and other sengis?
A. By doing DNA tests for them. B. By studying their living habits.
C. By comparing their appearances. D. By studying documents about them.
D
With the recent discussion about the health benefits of fish oil and other wellness plans, it can make you feel less worried to know that one thing never changes: Exercise is good for your health. Any movement, even walking, brings about a host of cardiovascular (心血管的) effects that can help you live longer, feel better, and not run out of breath when chasing children or small animals.
The question of how much exercise is best, though, is open to discussion. The answer often depends on your goals. For heart health, sessions four to five times weekly might be perfect. For mental health? As The Independent reports, scientists believe there's a pretty specific prescription (处 方): Exercising for 45 minutes three to five times a week.
Researchers at Yale University and the University of Oxford made the study. They examined 1.2 million subjects (实验对象) who filled out the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey at two-year intervals (间隔时间) between 2011 and 2015.
Subjects who didn't exercise at all had an average of three-and-a-half days per month when they felt mentally unwell — stressed, depressed, or suffering from emotional problems — while those who exercised regularly reported an average ofjust two days.
The study found that having three to five 45-minute sessions of exercise a week was best for reducing the reported problems of feeling stressed or depressed. Exercising for longer periods — some subjects reported more than 90 minutes in the gym — was connected with a drop-off in mental health benefits. Subjects who spent three hours at a time exercising actually reported an increase in depressive symptoms (症状).
Researchers also found that the kind of exercise undertaken made a difference. While all kinds of exercise helped, people who took part in team sports promoting social communication and gym classes like cycling described greater self-satisfaction with mental health.
Because the study included self-reported outcomes and exercise wasn't monitored, it's possible that the subjects could have misread the amount of exercise performed. The study, however, makes a convincing case for a popular opinion: If exercise were a pill, doctors everywhere would be prescribing it.
32. The perfect amount of exercise for a person is usually decided by _____.
A. his exercise routine B. his physical condition
C. what sports he prefers D. what he expects to improve
33. What do the numbers in paragraphs 4 and 5 show?
A. The health benefits of exercise.
B. People's response to hard exercise.
C. How exercise influences one's mental health.
D. Why positive attitudes promote one's exercise.
34. Which of the following sports may bring people more pleasure?
A. Tai chi. B. Volleyball. C. Climbing. D. Diving.
35. What may be the reason for the disadvantage of the study?
A. Too few participants.
B. Its researchers' personal interests.
C. The subjects' personal judgments.
D. Its failure to consider doctors' suggestions.

For today’s radio, I’d like to introduce an interesting lake to you. Loch Ness is a lake in the Scottish Highlands.(18) It is the largest lake in the United Kingdom, holding about 7.5 cubic kilometers of water. That is more water than all the lakes of England and Wales combined. Loch Ness is best known for the stories of the Loch Ness Monster. (19) The monster is said to be like a huge swimming dinosaur. Some people said they took pictures of the monster and explorers have searched Loch Ness for signs of it for many years, so far without any luck. Loch Ness itself was formed about10,000 years ago when the last Ice Age was about to end. The water of the lake is dark blue in color because of the nature of the surrounding land. The average temperature of the lake’s water remains 4.8 °C throughout the winter and it never turns to ice. (20) There is only one island in Loch Ness, named as Cherry Island.
