In about a week I will start one of my most expected adventures ever. Sarek National Park will be a mission. It is not a place for the unprepared. It is a place for adventurous hearts who are looking for solitude ( 独处), wildness and a connection with nature that is hard to find on our planet these days. High up in the north of Sweden at the border with Norway, it is called the last European Wilderness.

The preparation for this trip started a few months ago. I tried to prepare in the best way possible as this is uncharted territory for me. It will be the first hike really off the beaten path. I will not go into details until I get back and actually know what I am talking about.

There are a few things to keep in mind when you plan to hike in Sarek National Park. First of all, there are no huts ( 棚屋) or any accommodation. If you are at the heart of Sarek you will be at least a 4-5 days hike away from the next mountain hut. So this means I will have to carry everything I need for 8-10 days. The biggest part of the load will be food. There are no paths or waymarks. I will have to make my own route with GPS and maps.

In addition, the weather can be very challenging. Sarek is the area in Sweden with the heaviest rainfall. It is also known for strong wind and there're not many places to shelter from it because there are hardly any trees. It is important to bring professional hiking gear ( 装备). Finding and choosing a good campsite might take some time as well.

    24. What kind of destination does the author consider Sarek National Park to be?

    A. Popular and convenient.                     B. Busy and well-connected.

    C. Remote and forest-covered.                  D. Attractive and demanding.

    25. What does the underlined word “uncharted” in paragraph 2 probably mean?

    A. Not vast.     B. Not accepted.     C. Not explored.      D. Not dangerous.

    26. What will the author do in Sarek National Park?

    A. Make a map of Sarek.                      B. Build shelters for tourists.

    C. Reach the depths of Sarek.                  D. Measure the rainfall of Sarek.

    27. What is the author's purpose in writing paragraph 4?

    A. To explain why there are few trees there.

    B. To recommend ways of finding good campsites.

    C. To discuss causes of heavy rains and strong wind.

    D. To remind possible travelers of the challenging weather.

    C

While some feel that bookstores are fading away, one Chinese bookstore has found new life by marching into rural areas in China.

By absorbing local characteristics, the village branches of the Library Advantage Bookstore (LAB) chain have changed into important platforms to display local history, culture and folk traditions. These village branches are not just bookstores; they are helping to relieve spiritual poverty and becoming centers for gathering and displaying country culture.

To better fit in the lives of local people, each village branch has its own characteristics, like one in Shaxi, southwest China’s Yunnan province. Many of nearly 20,000 books in the store are associated with the history, geography and folk customs of Yunnan and the Bai people.

“Making money is not our only aim. Our bookstore has become a public gathering space for villagers. They do not buy books, but pass time by reading or chatting there.” explained Liu Xia, the bookstore owner.

Besides, the bookstores add a good cultural atmosphere. Some turn to the books to find answers to the troubles they face, such as running a business or attracting tourists from big cities. One of the biggest benefits is that it helps provide a healthy environment for children’s growth. “My kids often come to the store. They love reading books here. They gain knowledge and curiosity about the outside world.” one villager said.

    28. What is the main aim of the village branches of the LAB?

    A. To gather used books. B. To make huge profits.

    C. To celebrate country culture. D. To provide locals with pass-time.

    29. Why does the author mention the bookstore in Shaxi?

    A. Because its books relate to local cultures.

    B. Because it is the largest branch.

    C. Because it teaches villagers to read.

    D. Because it is popular among young people.

    30. How do the bookstores impact the locals according to the text?

    A. They prepare old villagers for city life.    B. They help their kids learn knowledge.

    C. They provide locals with jobs.            D. They attract tourists from big cities.

    31. Where is the text probably taken from?

    A A newspaper                             B. A government paper.

    C. A guide book. D. An advertisement.

    D

Young kids’ brains are very sensitive(敏感的) to their moms’ voices, science has shown. But as kids grow into teens, everything changes. Teenagers’ brains are now more tuned into strangers’ voices than those of their own moms’, new research shows.

The researchers scanned the brains of 7-to-6-year-olds as they listened to things said by their moms or by unfamiliar women. The words were pure gibberish: teebudieshawlt, keebudieshawlt and peebudieshawlt. Using such meaningless words allowed the scientists to study voices on their own, not what they were saying. As the kids listened, certain parts of their brains became active. This was especially true in brain regions that help us to detect rewards and pay attention.

Daniel Abrams, a researcher at Stanford University School of Medicine in California, and his colleagues have already known that younger kids’ brains respond more strongly to their mom’s voice than to a stranger’s. “In adolescence(青春期), we show the exact opposite of that,” Abrams says.

“These areas in the adolescent brain don’t stop responding to moms’ voices,” Abrams says. It’s just that unfamiliar voices become more rewarding and worthy of attention. Here’s why: As kids grow up, they expand their social connections beyond their family. So their brains need to begin paying more attention to that wider world.

But moms’ voices still have special power, especially in times of stress, one 2011 study with girls involved showed. Levels of stress dropped when these stressed-out girls heard their moms’ voices on the phone.

The brain seems to adapt to new needs that come with adolescence. “As we mature(成熟), our survival depends less and less on our moms’ support,” says Leslie Seltzer, a biological anthropologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “Instead,” she says, “we rely more and more on our friends and others closer to our own age.”

“So while both teens and their parents may sometimes feel frustrated(沮丧的) by missed messages, that’s OK,” Abrams says. “This is the way the brain is wired, and there’s a good reason for it.”

    32. What does the underlined word “gibberish” in paragraph 2 refer to?

    A. Relaxation. B. Disturbance. C. Information. D. Nonsense.

    33. Why do teens become more sensitive to unfamiliar voices?

    A. They desire real recognition. B. They need more connections.

    C. They are tired of their moms. D. They have more energy to spare.

    34. What are moms’ voices like to teens according to the 2011 study?

    A. Unpleasant. B. Exciting. C. Comforting. D. Strange.

    35. What is Daniel Abrams’ opinion on teens’ change in their voice preference?

    A. It is frustrating and problematic. B. It deserves scientific prevention.

    C. It is normal and understandable. D. It negatively affects their growth.

    第二节  七选五(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)

    根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

Think about what you are able to do if you find yourself in a survival situation. If you don’t want to fall into despair, you should learn some outdoor skills. 36     The following are some outdoor skills you should learn:

Build an emergency shelter. If it’s still winter where you live, find a pile of snow and learn how to build a cave. Don’t dig straight but create a wider space in the back. Make a small hole through a wall to let in fresh air. 37

Navigate(导航,引路) in the old way. Get out your map and compass and start going over those skills you likely learned as a kid. 38     Ask others to hide something and then give you a starting point, a searching direction and some type of tips. Then you have to try your best lo find the hidden thing.

Go over building fires. If you haven’t learnt how to start a fire in the woods, now is the time. Even a 3-year-old knows how to strike matches on top of red needle to start a fire. The older you are, the more complex you can be with fire starting. 39    Add a little chemistry by lighting steel wool(钢丝) on fire with a battery.

40     It’s spring, and if you don’t have a garden yet, now is a good time to start putting one in the ground and learn how to grow basic vegetables. Then put yourself in charge of watering and working on weeding, learning what you should do in the garden. You also can head into the woods to harvest native plants.

AIf it’s not winter, build a tent where you could spend a night.

BPrepare for a hunting or fishing trip.

CPlant a garden or harvest wild plants.

DYou can also go over using stones and glass.

EThen you can head outside for a searching hunt.

FOtherwise, you may end up regretting not learning earlier.

GIt also encourages you to learn some math and science along the way.

But as she continued her walk, she smiled contentedly. She had received the inspiration to ask clearly and plainly for the 53  and other blessings she longed for. It was clear, 54    the bearer of the message had four legs and a tail.

Perhaps, she thought, it was not a(n) 55  that the man had named his dog Blessings. And perhaps the dog had not been lost at all.

    第二节(共10小题;每小题1.5分, 满分15分)

    阅读下面短文, 在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。

I’m not sure when I started to love qipaos. I just remember that when I saw some famous people 56           (wear) qipaos in the TV series Romance in the Rain, I 57         (impress). Although Chinese women are fond of wearing qipaos for special events, for example, red ones for weddings, I wear them more 58          (frequent), not only for parties but also sometimes even in the office.

I’ve collected some qipaos 59          (buy) at a store in one of Beijing’s historical neighborhoods. A Chinese friend of mine recently gave me one of her old qipaos, which almost reaches my ankles. The qipao fits well at the shoulders, 60         it was simply too tight at the waist.

Many foreigners’ 61        (body) differ from those of the Chinese, which makes 62      hard for some foreigners to take off qipaos. Because I am not too short, and pretty thin, I can often buy readymade qipaos in China.

In my native country, nonAsians 63        (be) sometimes blamed on social media for wearing qipaos because of  64          (culture) differences, but in China, people have what I consider a more reasonable and open-minded approach: If foreigners wear qipaos, it is seen 65         an attitude of appreciation for Chinese culture.

    第二节(满分25分)

    67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Pembral was a good boy. But he was always forgetting things. Big things, small things, important things, little things. His mother was a patient woman, which was a good thing. Pembral regularly tested her patience. She learned early on to remind him of everything: big things, small things, important things, even the little things. Once in a while the little things that didn't seem important at the time became more important later.

Sometimes she thought that Pembral forgot things on purpose  things like washing behind his ears; or picking up his toys; or feeding the dog. It bothered (麻烦) her to remind him of these sorts of things. However, for the most part, she knew that his mind just wandered off and it was her job to bring it back.

Fall weather had arrived. The air was cool and fresh, especially in the morning, even if the skies were brilliant blue and the sun was shining brightly. The light of the morning made wisps () of fog come up from the ponds. The trees were changing their summer greens to coats of brilliant yellow, orange and red.

This was a time when Pembral's mother cooked things that smelled and tasted really good. It seemed like he was just hungrier in the fall or something, and he liked how the windows steamed up and how the kitchen smells filled up the whole house when his mother was cooking up something good at that time of the year.

Pembral's mother was baking () something special that day: a carrot cake. It was one of Pembral's favorites. But she needed some things from the store, and sent Pembral to get them. “I need eggs, sugar and raisins ( 葡萄干),” she said. “Here's some money,” she went on. “Put it in your pocket where you won't lose it.”

Pembral pushed the money into his pocket, and headed toward the door. He went outside and down the street, kicking dry leaves on the sidewalk into the air and breathing in their smell, and watching flying birds.

    注意:

    1. 续写词数应为150

    2. 请按如下格式在相应位置作答。

When he got to the store, he picked up a basket and went about shopping. ___________
