Work on 3a.

Have Ss read the questions quickly. Then read the story and answer the questions.

Have Ss read the story carefully and finish the following tasks:

Work on 3b.

1.Read the instructions.Get Ss to read the passage with these questions.

2.Ask Ss to find the words or phrases in the article which have the same meanings.

3. Get Ss to make new sentences with these words or phrases.

Work on 3c.

1. Divide the class into small groups.Give each student a role.And then get the Ss to read and discuss the story.Prepare for role-playing.

2. Work in groups and ask one or two groups to report to the class.

The king-the doctor- the prime minister-the banker- the palace singer.

3. Have a summary about the story and encourage Ss to retell it.

4. Work in pairs. Think and discuss:

   What makes you happy?
