As I was young, smart phones weren't created, and our TV only got one channel clearly. Still, I was never bored. The fields, hills, and woodlands around my home were the perfect playground. I can remember once hiking to a nearby lake. At the backside of it I was amazed to find an old dirt road that I had never seen before. It was full of muddy tracks and deep woods bordered it on both sides, but exploring it still seemed like a fine adventure.
I walked on and on for hours. I was sure my guardian angel was whispering in my ear "turn around and head back home", but I was stubborn, so I walked on. There was still neither a car nor a house in sight. I noticed that the sun was starting to go down and I grew scared. I didn't want to end up trapped on this road, and I was worried that it would be dark before I could make my way back to the lake again.
I continued to walk on with something growing inside of me. My heart was pounding and my legs were aching. I was almost in tears when I turned one last turning and saw a house in the distance. I recognized that house.
I jumped up and down and laughed out loud. It was still over a mile away but my legs felt like feathers and I hurried back to my house in no time. I walked in with a big smile on my face just in time for dinner.
I remembered this recently when I saw a sign that said: "All roads lead home." It is true. In this life, all roads, no matter how they twist and turn, can lead us home again. What is important, though, is how we travel them. Are we going to go forth in fear or are we going to go forth in faith? Are we going to make this life a terrible trip or are we going to make this life a joyful journey? The choice is ours.
4. Why did the author hardly feel bored when he was young?
A. Because he had many friends.
B. Because he used to explore the old dirt road.
C. Because he could watch TV all day.
D. Because he could have fun in nature.
5. How did the author feel when he was exploring the dirt road?
A. He was unconscious.
B. He felt nervous.
C. He thought he would be trapped in the woods.
D. He thought he would be scolded by his parents.
6. What does "something" probably refer to in paragraph 3?
A. Doubt. B. Fear. C. Courage. D. Hope.
7. What does the author mainly intend to tell us?
A. Always make choices on our own.
B. All roads lead home.
C. Every effort is worthwhile.
D. It's our attitude that matters in our life.

When we see a person in trouble, the first idea that comes to our mind is to lend a hand. But what if we see an animal in trouble, does the same rule apply?
This question was raised after a group of penguins (企鹅) were saved from an icy gully (峡谷) in Antarctica. It was filmed for the BBC wildlife series Dynasties. The film crew were anxious when they saw that a group of penguins had fallen into a gully and been trapped with their young. They built a slope (斜坡) so that a few of the penguins could save themselves.
The case has taken the international media by storm.Viewers watching this film sighed in relief. "I'm so glad.I understand not taking action directly, but a helping hand isn't bothering, right?" viewer Kathryn Shaw said on her Facebook.
However, others think human interference (干涉) is unnatural. "You can't have sunshine throughout your life.To have done anything else would only make matters worse." said the show's creator David Attenborough, according to TheTimes.
In this case, however,Mike Gunton, the executive producer of the series, said that this was a one-off situation. "There were no animals going to suffer by interfering. You weren't touching the animals and it was just felt by doing this …They had the chance not to have to keep slipping down the slope." he told the BBC.
Such cases are familiar to Paul Nicklen, wildlife photographer for National Geographic. He told Metro, "If it's ever a predator (捕食者) situation,no matter how ,you stay out of the way.Even when you're watching a male polar bear eat a baby bear."
"There's no rule book in those situations. You can only respond to the facts that are right there in front of you." Will Lawson, the show's director, told Daily Mail.

1】There was a time when I was addicted to playing phone all day and all night, me to fall asleep in class frequently. One day I was sleeping my headteacher called my name and it was the fourth time that I slept in English class. Therefore he criticized me.It was not until then ∧ I realized I had made stupid a mistake. While falling far behind,I decided to study hard and up with my classmates. With teacher's help,I would surely make a great progress in the coming examination.
分析句意可知,此处I was sleeping"我正在睡觉"和my headteacher called my name"我的班主任点我名"为同时发生的动作,sb was/were doing sth.when…" 故while改为when。
故have改为had。
it was not until…that… 故then后加that。
故such改为so。
故your改为my。
故删除a。
