一、教学内容

Unit 6 In the kitchen (Sound time & Culture time)

二、教学目标

1.学生会说、会读、会写食品类词汇，如bread, meat, soup, potatoes, tomatoes, vegetables，能区别中西方有特色的菜肴。

2.学生能在情境中正确使用现在进行时一般疑问句进行交流问答。

3.能正确掌握qu的发音并正确朗读含有qu发音的单词并利用qu发音规则认读、听写新词。

4.能了解中西方不同餐具和餐桌礼仪文化。

三、教学重点

1. 在情境中正确使用现在进行时的句型。

2. 掌握qu发音规则，正确朗读Sound time.

3. 了解Culture time里的文化知识。

四、教学难点

qu的发音及qu单词的朗读。

五、教学过程

Step 1: Warming up

1. Enjoy a song: Are you sleeping?

2. Free talk

S: (问关于John的问题，如：Who’s John? Where does John live? ...)

T: John live in a small town. What’s in the town?

S: There’s/There are … (自由猜测回答)

Step 2: Sound time

1. T: There are many people in the street in the town. Why?

S: (自由猜测)

T: Let’s listen and find out. (播放Sound time录音)

S: The queen is coming.

T: All the people come out to see the queen. Let’s read together.

T: (讲解Sound time小诗，解释town和crown的意思，然后再次播放录音，学生跟读小诗)

2. (引导学生发现小诗中qu的发音，然后尝试拼读含qu的单词)

3. (学生观看Sound time动画，掌握qu的发音并尝试拼读新单词。)

Step 3: Culture time

1. T: The queen’s going to have a party. All the people in the palace are very busy.

Let’s guess: What are they doing?

S: (引导学生尝试猜测，如：The princess is making a cake. The king is blowing some balloons. The maids are …The cooks are …)

T: Good! The cooks are cooking nice food in the kitchen.

2. T: Can you say something about food of different countries? Please discuss in groups of four.

(1) What is Chinese food?

(2) What is western food?

T: OK! Let’s see if you are right.

Chinese food: rice with eggs, noodles with meat, tomato soup …

Western food: steak, pizza, chip and fries, hamburger, salad …

3. T: You did very well. But do you know how do we eat these food?

Please look and choose.

Yes, we eat with chopsticks. Choose A.

How about B? What’s this? Learn: fork/ knife

Read the sentences 小贴士了解各国进食的工具。

Step 4: Summary

T: Good job! Today we’ve learnt a lot. What have we learnt?

Next, we go to the queen’s party. We know different kinds of food and we know how to eat the food with the right tableware. (背诵Culture time)

Step 5: Homework 

1. Read Sound time and try to find more words with “qu”.

2. Read Culture time and learn more on the Internet.

3. Preview Cartoon time. Find something about the animals and their favourite food.
