Can you imagine astronauts' everyday life in space? They also need to eat, sleep, exercise and relax. They do the same things as us, but they do them differently.
On the Earth, we put food on a plate. Gravity holds the food down and keeps it in a place. But there is almost no gravity in space, so food can float(飘浮)away, and astronauts must eat carefully.
Sleeping is very different in space. Some astronauts like to float in the air, but most like to be in a sleeping bag. They tie(系)the bag to a wall so that they won't float away at night.
Exercise is very important in space. On the Earth, your legs carry your body, but in space, astronauts float, so they do not use their legs often. This is very bad for their legs, so they must exercise for thirty minutes every day.
After a day's work, astronauts relax. They may listen to music, read, watch films, play games, or talk to their friends and family on the radio. Sometimes they just enjoy floating in the air.
( )34. Astronauts tie the sleeping bag to a wall because _________.
    A. that makes them sleep well
    B. the sleeping bag is not safe enough
    C. in that way they won't float away
    D. they can't get to sleep if they don't do that
( )35. Astronauts must exercise ______ every day when they are in space.
    A. more than an hour B. half an hour
    C. 13 minutes D. nearly an hour
( )36. Astronauts can't ______ in space according to the passage.
    A. listen to music

    A. the importance of gravity
    B. astronauts' everyday life in space
    C. the differences between space and Earth
    D. how to avoid(避免)floating away while sleeping
    C
Daming woke up in the morning. The robot said in a pleasant voice, “It is June 26, 2118. It's a fine day. And your father is leaving for Planet 3549 in an hour. ”
Planet 3549 is a newlydiscovered planet. With the development of technology, it will take only 15 days to travel there. Daming's father is an excellent astronaut, so he was chosen to land on this planet.
Before his journey, scientists had collected a lot of information about the planet. Then came the time for Daming's father to leave. He said goodbye to his family members and friends, and then started his journey, during which time he had a good rest in the spaceship. After landing on Planet 3549 safely, the real work began for Daming's father. He connected with the headquarters(总部) on the earth and sent back some photographs of this planet. After that, he sent one of the robots away to get more data(数据) about Planet 3549. Meanwhile, some machines controlled by computers in the spaceship were working to produce oxygen(氧) and clean water, and other machines were dealing with waste.
Everything worked very well for the first week. Unluckily, something suddenly went wrong with a small part of a machine, and it couldn't turn dirty water into drinking water. It was terrible. Daming's father was very worried, but suddenly he had an idea. He connected the machine with a tool outside the spaceship, which could provide power(能量) for it, so he fixed the machine all by himself! Though it wouldn't last long, he avoided danger for the time being. “I must call back the earth and ask for help,” he thought to himself.
Hearing the news, the scientists on the earth immediately took action and sent another spaceship to bring him back. Daming's mother and the whole family were all concerned(担心) about Daming's father. They made vision(影像) calls every day until Daming's father safely returned.
( )38. Which of the following is TRUE?
    A. Scientists knew nothing about the planet before Daming's father went there.
    B. Daming's father spent a month completing the trip to the planet.
    C. Daming's father traveled to the planet with at least one robot.
    D. A robot helped Daming's father take some pictures about the planet.
( )39. What was the accident during the second week?
    A. The machine couldn't produce fresh air.
    B. The machine couldn't make clean water.
    C. The machine couldn't deal with waste.
    D. The machine couldn't tell the right direction.
( )40. How did Daming's father solve the problem?
    A. He repaired the machine by himself.
    B. He sent a robot to repair the machine.
    C. He asked the headquarters to repair the machine from the earth.
    D. He returned to the earth as soon as he found the problem.
( )41. How did Daming feel when he heard that his father needed help?
    A. He felt excited.
    B. he felt angry.
    C. he felt sad.
    D. He felt worried.
    D
For thousands of years, people have explored (探索) the Earth. Nowadays, we are exploring space. Astronomers (天文学家) are the modemday explorers. Now, many astronomers are looking for new planets and new places for people to live in the future. But where do astronomers start exploring?
First of all, astronomers look for a star. That's because our own Earth moves around a starthe Sun. More importantly, it is neither too far from nor too near to the Sun for heat and light. So when astronomers have found the star, they look at the planets around it. In recent years, astronomers have found nearly 400 new planets with stars. However, many of these planets are either too near to the star or too far away.
However, if the planet is in a good place, astronomers will look for three key things: water, air and rock. Water is important because all life needs water. People can drink it and they can also grow plants with water. And plants produce air for people to breathe and food to eat. Rock on a planet is also important. That's because there is often water under the rock.
After many years of exploring, astronomers have found a planet like the Earth. It's Gliese 581g and it's near a star. The astronomers think it has water and rock and the temperature is betwee -31℃ and -12℃. That's cold, but not colder than Antarctica or the Arctic Circle, for example. Gliese 581g is bigger than the Earth. A year on Gliese 581g is only 37 Earth days, not 365 Earth days. But astronomers do not think these are big differences and some of them think Gliese 581g will be a new Earth. However, Gliese 581g is twenty light years from the Earth.
( )42. How do astronomers discover a new planet for people to live on? Choose the right order.
    a. Astronomers look for three key things.
    b. Astronomers look for and find a right star.
    c. Astronomers look at the planets around the star.
    A. b-a-c B. a-b-c C. b-c-a D. c-a-b
( )43. According to Paragraph 3, which of the following things is the most important?
    A. Water. B. Air. C. Rock. D. Food.
( )44. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 4 refer to?
    A. The Earth. B. Gliese 581g.
    C. The Sun. D. Gliese.
( )45. What's the main idea of the text?
    A. Gliese 581g is already a new Earth.
    B. There are some planets like our Earth.
    C. Water, air and rock are important.
    D. Astronomers are looking for a new Earth.
