A special electric fork invented by Japanese researchers could make any dish taste salty.According to Hiromi Nakamura, a Post Doctor Researcher at Meiji University of Japan, the technology can be very useful for people with special eating habits. For example, the sick with high blood pressure (高血压) can easily develop a low-salt eating habit and still enjoy delicious food. And with the fork, there's totally no risk of over- salting their food. Luckily, the voltage (电压) is so small that it is safe to use the fork. The idea of adding electricity to food was first shown to public as an experiment at the Computer Human Interaction Conference in Austin, Texas, in 2012. Nakamura and her team connected a wire (导线) to a 9-volt battery (电池) and passed it through a straw (吸管) placed in a cup of sweet lemonade. Volunteers reported that the lemonade tasted not as sweet as it usually was, because the electricity created the taste of salt.Nakamura has improved the technology to be able to make the electricity reach the food through forks and chopsticks. "The metallic part of the fork is one electrode (电极), and the handle is the other," Nakamura explained. "When you take a piece of food with the fork and put it in your mouth, you connect the circuit. When you take the fork out of your mouth, you disconnect the circuit. So it actually works as a switch." Simon Klose, TV presenter of food programme Munchies, who visited Nakamura to try out the fork himself, then said it was one of the greatest eating experiences he'd ever had. ''When I first heard of electric food, it sounded terrible," he said. He later continued to use the fork to eat pieces of fried chicken, and found that the saltiness greatly increased as the electricity was connected.Nakamura has been eating "electric" food for the past three to four years in order to understand it better. "For me," she said," it may seem like we're cooking but we're actually working on the human taste."( )21.The electric fork maybe good for people who______.A. need to lose weight          B. work as researchersC. show interest in physics      D. have high blood pressure( )22.Paragraph4mainly tells us______.A. what creates the taste of saltB. how the electric fork worksC. where the electric fork was inventedD. when the technology was known to public( )23. The way your robot gets its energy will depend on what your robot needs to do.Intelligence A robot needs some kind of "smarts". A programmer is the person who gives the robot its "smarts". Telling "white lies" isn't really that bad. Most of the time, people do it because they want to protect a friendship. A survey shows that each person lies about seven times a day. The only real questions are about when we lie and who we tell lies to. Here are some reasons why people tell "white lies".◆ Lying to hide something: People often lie because they want to hide something from someone. For example, Paul doesn't tell his parents that he's going to play basketball because he doesn't think they will agree. He tells a lie that he is going to the library to study.◆ Lying to make someone feel good: Often we don't tell the truth to make someone feel good. For example, your friend cooks dinner for you, but it tastes terrible. Do you say so? No! You probably say, "Mmm, this is delicious!"◆ Giving false excuses: Sometimes people lie because they don't want to do something. For example, someone invites you to a party. You think it will be boring, so you say you're busy.◆ Lying to hide bad news: Sometimes we don't want to tell someone bad news. For example, you have just had a very bad day at work, but you don't feel like talking about it. So if someone asks you about your day, you just say everything was fine.63. How many reasons why people tell "white lies" are mentioned in the passage?                                                                                 64. How often does each person tell lies according, to a survey?                                                                                 65. What will you say to make people feel good although the dish tastes terrible? Why? Dear Luke,I'm glad to tell you something about robots.       I'm sure you will like it very much.
