能根据地图，运用there be句型简单描述建筑物的位置。

课件、录音机和磁带。

Step 1 Warm­up & Revision

1. Greetings.

2. Game: Listen and do.学生拿出上次课后制作的有关场所和建筑物的词卡，听教师指令摆放卡片。如：

T: There is a post office near a cinema./There is a shopping centre near a bank./There is a park near a zoo./…

Step 2 Presentation & Practice

C Let’s Practise

1. 教师通过演练文具或教室中其他物品的位置关系，复习方位介词in，on，near，under，beside，behind，between，next to等。

2. 教师课件展示句型： Is there a bird on the house? Yes, there is.

Is there a bird in the house? No, there isn’t.

3. 教师讲解句型：Is there…? Yes, there is./No, there isn’t.

4. 教师引导学生，看本部分插图，仿照例句练习对话，如：

T: Is there a cat in the pink house?

Ss: No, there isn’t.

T: Is there a cat in the orange house?

Ss: Yes, there is.

教师先示范练习，再让学生两人一组练习。

D Let’s Read

1. 第一遍阅读短文：要求学生独立阅读，画出表示建筑物的词汇。全班核对答案：cinema，café，shopping centre，post office，hotel，park。稍后教师用课件呈现上述建筑物的图片，释义café，带读并复习、巩固B部分已学词汇。

2. 第二遍阅读短文：要求学生独立完成文后判断题。全班核对答案，并说出判断依据。

3. 听录音，学生跟读。

4. 看D部分的地图，学生填写场所名称。稍后教师请学生根据地图描述建筑物和场所的位置。

Step 3 Consolidation & Extension

Activity: Make a map and talk.

教师告诉学生：“现在你们都是城市设计师，请大家设计一张地图，设计好之后会有记者来采访。”让学生利用所学的词汇设计城市规划图，并在班里选几名学生充当小记者去采访“设计师”，两人进行对话。如：

S(小记者): Is there a cinema in your city?

S1: Yes, there is.

S(小记者): Where is it?

S1: It’s next to the post office.

...

Step 4 Summary& Homework

1. 小结：师生共同总结本课时所学的主要内容。

2. 作业：(1)听录音，熟读D部分短文； (2)根据短文中的地图，用“There is…”写3—5个句子描述建筑物和场所的位置。

C部分要求学生能运用前面所学的方位介词及there be句型对物体的方位进行问答。D部分设置任务型阅读，要求学生读懂文段，然后完成判断句子及看图填词的任务。一节课下来，我发现一些学生方位感不够好，需要强化英语平面地图读图训练，提升空间思维能力。
