2. Someone felt sick.
sick /sɪk/ adj. 生病的;有病的
e.g. I hate being ill(=sick), and I afraid of seeing sick people looking sick and sad.
我讨厌生病,也害怕看到病人生病悲伤的样子。
拓展:sick 作形容词,还可以表示“恶心的;厌倦的”,不能作定语,只能作表语,常用短语有feel sick(感到恶心) 、be sick of...(厌倦了……) 等。
e.g. He always feels sick on the ship.
他在船上总是感到恶心。
辨析:sick 与ill
sick | 作“生病的”讲时,可作表语和定语。在句中作表语时be sick = be ill。 |
ill | 作“生病的”讲时,只作表语,不作定语,其比较级和最高级分别为worse,worst。 |
