1. Who’s the young woman, Wu Chen? 吴晨,那位年轻的女士是谁? 本句是一个由特殊疑问词who引导的特殊疑问句,询问 某人是谁,因此,答语一般回答人物的姓名或称呼。 翻译句子:——那个戴眼镜的男人谁? —Who is the man with glasses? ——他是高先生。—He is Mr. Gao.
2. What did she do? 她做了什么? 本句是一个特殊疑问句,是对过去做的事情进行 提问。对过去的动作进行提问要借助助动词did, 其后的动词要用原形。 翻译句子:——你刚刚说了什么? ——我说你帮助了我。 —What did you say? —I said you helped me.
3. She set up a hope school for poor children. 她为贫困孩子建了一所希望学校。 (1) 本句中的set是过去式,set的过去式和原形相同。 set up为固定搭配,意为“建立;建造”。
(2) poor是形容词,意为“贫穷的” 反义词为rich(富有的), poor还可以表示“可怜的”。
翻译句子:这个穷人很可怜。 The poor man is very poor.

5. What does he do? 他是做什么的? 这是一个用来询问他人职业的特殊疑问句,和 “What is he?”意思相同。如果将本句中的 does变成did,则用来询问他人过去做了什么。 翻译句子:——这个男人是做什么的? ——他是一名歌手。 —What does the man do? —He is a singer.
6. He is very helpful to the people there. 他对那里的人们帮助很大。 本句中的helpful是一个形容词,意为“有帮助 的”。 be helpful to sb.是一个固定短语,意为“对某 人有帮助”。 翻译句子:这门学科对你很有帮助。 This subject is very helpful to you.
