Good morning, my dear teachers and friends. It’s my honor to speak here, and I’m very glad to share with you my experience of overcoming fear.
Everyone has his or her own fear. As for me, speaking in front of people used to be my great fear because of my shyness. But thankfully, my teachers and classmates always inspired and comforted me. With their help, I encouraged myself to practice over and over again. Gradually I got used to it and had the confidence.
Now, my fear of speaking has gone. As the old saying goes, "Where there is a will, there is a way". What we fear is fear itself. No obstacle is impossible to break through if we put our hearts into it.

W:Sixty dollars for three tickets. I'm joking. It's all on me. Just come.
M:OK, thanks. So what kind of music do they play?
W:Jazz. And they are my favorite band. Do you like jazz?
M:Yes. When does the concert start?
W: It starts at 7 and ends at 9. After the concert, let's see a movie.
M:I'm afraid not. You know how strict my mom is! I must be back home before 9:30.
W:What a pity! I understand. My aunt always puts safety before everything, just like our Grandma!

One night in 1965, a black woman got caught in a rainstorm while driving her car on an Alabama highway. It was raining very heavily. However, she was in such a hurry that she drove on. Suddenly, her car broke down. It was at 11:30 pm! She had to stand on the side of the highway, waiting for a ride. A car passed by but didn't stop. Then passed another car. And she was all wet in the rain. At last, a young white man stopped to help her. The man took her to safety, helped her and put her into a taxi. She wrote down his address, thanked him and left in a hurry.
Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a gift with a big color TV was sent to his home. And a note said, “Thank you so much for helping me on the highway the other night. Because of you, I was able to meet my dying husband just before he passed away. Thank you for helping me and serving others. ”
The woman, in fact, had been the wife of a famous musical artist.
