典型标识词是for example,for instance,take...as an example等
标识词通常有but,however,nevertheless,(al)though,in fact等
标识词有for,as a result,as a consequence,consequently,therefore,accordingly等
后句是前句的延续或补充,标识词主要有then,after that,furthermore,also,when(this happens)等.
说明前后内容的不同之处,标识词通常有as a contrast,on the contrary,on the one hand...on the other hand等

Fitness Magazine recently ran an article titled “Five Reasons to Thank Your Workout Partner.” One reason was: “You’ll actually show up if you know someone is waiting for you at the gym, ” while another read: “___36___” With a workout partner, you will increase your training effort as there is a subtle (微妙) competition.
So, how do you find a workout partner?
First of all, decide what you want from that person. ___37___ Or do you just want to be physically fit, able to move with strength and flexibility? Think about the exercises you would like to do with your workout partner.
You might think about posting what you are looking for on social media, but it probably won’t result in a useful response. ___38___ If you plan on working out in a gym, that person must belong to the same gym.
A.Your first meeting may be a little awkward.
B.A workout partner usually needs to live close by.
C.You’ll work harder if you train with someone else.
D.Do you want to be a better athlete in your favorite sport?
E.How can you write a good “seeking training partner” notice?
F.Just accept your differences and learn to work with each other.
G.Any notice for a training partner should include such information.
根据前文“Fitness Magazine recently ran an article titled “Five Reasons to Thank Your Workout Partner.” One reason was: “You’ll actually show up if you know someone is waiting for you at the gym,”(《健身杂志》最近刊登了一篇题为《感谢健身伙伴的五个理由》的文章。 以及后文“With a workout partner, you will increase your training effort as there is a subtle (微妙) competition. C“You’ll work harder if you train with someone else.(如果你和别人一起训练,你会更努力)”符合语意。故选C项。
根据前文“First of all, decide what you want from that person. (首先,决定你想从那个人身上得到什么)”和后文“Or do you just want to be physically fit, able to move with strength and flexibility?(或者你只是想要身体健康,能够移动的力量和灵活性?)” D“Do you want to be a better athlete in your favorite sport?
根据前文“You might think about posting what you are looking for on social media, but it probably won't result in a useful response. (你可能会考虑在社交媒体上发布你想要的东西,但可能不会得到有用的回应)”和后文“If you plan on working out in a gym, that person must belong to the same gym.(如果你打算在健身房锻炼,那个人一定是同一个健身房的)”可知,寻找的锻炼伙伴要具有便利性的特点。选项B中的“live close by”与后文的“belong to the same gym”相对应,选项B“A workout partner usually needs to live close by.

It also listed her favorite sports and activities, and provided her phone number. G“Any notice for a training partner should include such information.

What keeps us healthy and happy as we go through life? The clearest message that we got from a 75-year study is this: Good relationships keep us happier and healthier. ___16___
The first is that social connections are really good for us, and that loneliness kills. It turns out that people who are more socially connected to others are happier. ___17___ On the contrary, the experience of loneliness turns out to be harmful. There are some people who are more lonely than they want to be. They find that they are less happy, their health declines earlier in midlife, and they live shorter lives than people who are not lonely.
And we know that you can be lonely in a crowd and you can be lonely in a marriage. So the second big lesson that we learned is that it’s not just the number of friends you have, and it’s not whether or not you’re in a committed relationship, but it’s the quality of your close relationships that matters. ___18___ High-conflict marriages, for example, without much love, turn out to be very bad for our health.
And the third big lesson that we learned about relationships is that good relationships don’t just protect our bodies, they protect our brains. It turns out that being in a securely attached relationship is protective. Many people are in relationships where they can get help from the other persons in times of need. ___19___
So, good and close relationships are good for our health and well-being. ___20___ This is wisdom that’s as old as the hills. Now, ask yourself a question: If you were going to invest now in your future best self, where would you put your time and your energy?
A.These people’s memories stay sharper and longer.
B.We’ve learned three big lessons about relationships.
C.That is to say, the good life is built with good relationships.
D.What’s more, they’re physically healthier, and they live longer.
E.It turns out that living in the conflict is really bad for our health.
F.They will surprisingly find that this relationship cause mental decline.
G.People living in loneliness are either in sorrow or terrible health condition.

16.根据第二段的“The first is that social connections are really good for us(第一,社会关系对我们真的很好)”,第三段“So the second big lesson that we learned is that it’s not just the number of friends you have, and it’s not whether or not you’re in a committed relationship, but it’s the quality of your close relationships that matters(因此,我们学到的第二个重要事情是,重要的不仅仅是你有多少朋友,也不是你是否处于一段忠诚的关系中,而是你亲密关系的质量)”,第四段的“And the third big lesson that we learned about relationships is that good relationships don’t just protect our bodies, they protect our brains(我们从人际关系中学到的第三个重要事情是,良好的人际关系不仅能保护我们的身体,还能保护我们的大脑)”可知,下文要从三个方面来阐释社会关系。
17.根据上文“It turns out that people who are more socially connected to others are happier(事实证明,与他人社会关系更密切的人更幸福)”和后文“On the contrary, the experience of loneliness turns out to be harmful(相反,孤独的经历是有害的)”可知,前后内容相反,该空处应该进一步说明,有更多社会联系的好处。故选D项。
18.根据后一句“High-conflict marriages, for example, without much love, turn out to be very bad for our health(例如,没有太多爱的高冲突婚姻对我们的健康非常不利)”可知,在举例子说明,生活中的冲突对我们的健康不好,E选项“living in the conflict is really bad for our health”与之相符,故选E项。
19.根据上文“It turns out that being in a securely attached relationship is protective(处在安稳的关系中对人是有保护作用的)”和“Many people are in relationships where they can get help from the other persons in times of need(许多人处于一种关系中,他们可以在需要时从其他人那里获得帮助)可知,A选项的“These people”就是代指上文的“many people”,A选项的“memories stay sharper and longer”又和本段的“that good relationships don’t just protect our bodies, they protect our brains”中的“protect our brains”相呼应。故选A项。
20.根据该空的前一句话“So, good and close relationships are good for our health and well-being(因此,良好而亲密的关系有利于我们的健康和幸福)”可知,C项是对上一句话的总结和深化。
【答案】16.A 17.G 18.E 19.F 20.B
16.根据上文“My Grandma is 95 years old and still lives independently and happily at home. She has looked after her body her whole life, never drank or smoked a day in her life. 她一辈子很爱惜自己的身体,从来不吸烟喝酒)”以及下文“She appreciates the little things in life like having cups of tea while sitting in her chair. But what she really loves to do is READ! 又根据最后一段“I've learnt so much from her. It feels so great just to be able to do something to be kind and to make someone else smile. She tells me she would be lost without me but the truth is I would be so lost without her. 故选A项。
17.根据上文“But what she really loves to do is READ! 以及下文“Bless her heart!
18.根据上文“I also bring my three kids. They runaround the home all day and bounce their balls in her driveway. 他们整天在家里跑来跑去,在她的车道上玩球)”以及下文“Laughing her head off, she is always laughing. I race around doing all kinds of housework.
19.根据上文“Every month Grandma gets a delivery from the Library which she looks forward to very much, two big containers full of books.
20.根据上文“There have been a few times I purchased a couple of books when I didn't receive any books from others and told Grandma they were given to me when I knew she needed books. (有几次,当没有收到别人的书时,我买了几本书,然后当我知道奶奶需要书时,我告诉她,这些书是别人送我的)”以及下文“You see, Grandma respected money her whole life and she too raised three children alone, like me.

Shopping to relieve stress is also called retail therapy as a form of regulating stress(购物缓解压力也被称为零售疗法,作为调节压力的一种形式)符合文意,其中 relieve stress与上文reduce stress对应, also 也表示对上文内容的进一步说明。故选B项。
17.由后文“Whether you’re purchasing Christmas presents or buying groceries, having the items you need written down will provide you with clarity and order while you’re shopping. 18.由后文“Do you spend too much money at the mall? Eating out? Vacations? Make a list of where your money is going and take necessary steps to avoid temptations. 19.由上文“Give up the need to keep up with your neighbors, co-workers, and friends.(放弃与邻居、同事和朋友保持一致花费的需要。)”
