Step 1: Lead in

Show students some pictures

【教学设计说明】Show students three moving pictures and ask students to describe what they are doing. Introduce the lesson as they review the present continuous tense.

Step 2: 1a&1b

1a.Look at the pictures. Complete the chart.

1b.Look1a.Then pictures in 1a.Then ask and answer questions.

—No，he isn't. He's swimming in a pool.

Step 3. 1c

1c.Listen and complete the chart.

Step 4. 1e

Use the information in the chart to make a conversation.

Step 5. 2a &2b&2c

2a.Look at the clocks and ask your partner about the time in different places.

2b.Read the TV report and answer the questions.

2c.Match the verbs in column A with the words in column B．Then use the phrases to write sentences according to the TV report.

Step 6.Language points

1.   shop可用作动词，意为“购物”，也可用作名词，意为“商店”(美式英语“商店”为“store”)。
2.   any other＋名词单数形式意为 “(除了某个以外)其他的任何一个” 。

any常用作限定词，与单数可数名词或不可数名词连用， 用于肯定句， 起强调作用，表示“任一的； 任何的”。

辨析the other，the others，others，another与other

3.young是形容词，意思是“幼小的；

年轻的”，其反义词是old，意为“年老的”

4.11-year-old是由“基数词＋名词＋形容词”构成的复合形容词，常用来作定语。三个词之间用连字符连接，中间的名词必须用单数。

5.miss作及物动词，意为“怀念；思念”，其第三人称单数形式为misses。

6.辨析wish与hope

wish与hope都表示“希望”，二者均可以跟动词不定式

7.still表示某事仍然在继续，多用于肯定句或疑问句中。
