How is the weather?意为“天气怎么样?”,是用来询问天气状况的常用句型,还可以用“What's the weather like?”。询问某地的天气时,在句子末尾加介词短语“in+某地”。
eg:How's the weather in Beijing?(=What's the weather like in Beijing?)北京的天气怎么样?
2.weather为不可数名词,意为“天气”,前面不能用不定冠词a/an。其同音异形词是whether(是否)。
易错警示:多么糟糕的天气啊!

3. It's cloudy.天气多云。
回答询问天气的问句时,通常用:“It’s +表示天气的形容词.”。常见的该类形容词有:
fine(晴朗的),dry(干燥的),warm(温暖的),cold(寒冷的),cool(凉爽的),hot(炎热的),rainy(下雨的),snowy(下雪的),sunny(晴朗的),cloudy(多云的)等。同时也可以用现在进行时进行回答:It's raining/snowing.正在下雨/ 下雪。
cloudy是由名词cloud(云)加后缀y构成的形容词。类似用法的还有:
rain—rainy 下雨的 snow—snowy 下雪的
wind—windy 多风的 ice—icy 结冰的
sun—sunny 晴朗的 fog—foggy 有雾的

Imagine you are in one of the places in 1a.Talk about the weather with your friend on the phone.
A: Hi!How's the weather in Beijing?
B: It's sunny.
T:Make conversations with your partner.
T: Now, could you please present your conversations for the class? Let`s turn the turntable and choose one team?
(Have Ss form pairs and practice the conversations in the picture. Walk around the classroom to monitor their work. Have Ss introduce their family members using the conversations as a model. Have Ss mingle and practice the conversations. Choose some teams to role-play their conversations for the class.)
