Step 5. Language points

Is there a hospital near here?这附近有医院吗？

句法分析［重点］这是一个there be 句型的一般疑问句, 是问路的常用句型。

辨析:there be 与have/has都意为  “有”, 但有区别：

there be:表示“某处有某物/人”,指客观存在。句型为“There be＋某物/人＋某地．”。句中有两个或多个并列主语时，be动词的形式与最靠近的主语在数上保持一致，即遵循“就近原则”。

have/has:表示“某人/物有”，指从属关系。句型为“某人/物＋ have/has＋某物/人．”。用have或has取决于句子的主语

eg:    There is a pen and two pencils in my pencil box.

      在我的文具盒里有一支钢笔和两支铅笔。

      (钢笔和铅笔不一定是属于我的)

      There are two pencils and a pen in my pencil box.  

      在我的文具盒里有两支铅笔和一支钢笔。

      I have a pen and two pencils.

      我有一支钢笔和两支铅笔。 (钢笔和铅笔是属于我的)

He has two pencils and a pen.  他有两支铅笔和一支钢笔。

Practice the conversation with your partner. Then ask and answer questions about the other places in 1a.

B：Yes, there is. It's on Bridge Street.

T: Now, could you please present your conversations for the class? Let`s turn the turntable and choose one team?

(Have Ss form pairs and practice the conversations in the picture. Walk around the classroom to monitor their work. Have Ss introduce their family members using the conversations as a model. Have Ss mingle and practice the conversations. Choose some teams to role-play their conversations for the class.)
