Language points1.height 用作名词, 意为“身高；高度”, 其形容词形式是high。要询问某人的身高或某物的高度是多少, 常用what 来提问, 而不用how much 或how many。eg: What’s the height of that wall? 那堵墙有多高？2.height可与介词in连用,常用于描述某人或某物高度的句子中,其结构为 “sb./sth.+be+数字+meter(s)/ foot(feet) in height”,此时, in height相当于形容词tall。eg: He is two meters in height     =He is two meters tall.他身高两米。3.修饰人，意为“胖的，重的”，用fat表达人胖时不礼貌，委婉的说法是用heavy，反义词thin(瘦的)修饰物，意为“沉的；重的”，反义词 light(轻的)heavy还有“大(量)的，猛烈的”之意，用来表示雨或雪很大，其副词为heavily。eg: It's raining heavily now. 现在雨下得很大。   There will be a heavy snow. 将有一场大雪。4.“What+do/does+ 主语+look like ?” 这一句型用来询问人的外貌特征, 意为“某人长什么样？”eg: What does Jim look like?吉姆长什么样？辨析look like与be like【教学设计说明】This part is aim to let students to know more specific details about these words,phrases and sentences.Step 5. work on 1cTeam work One of the people in 1a is your friend. Describe your friend. Let`s turn the turntable and choose one team?(Have Ss form pairs and practice the conversations in the picture. Walk around the classroom to monitor their work. Have Ss introduce their family members using the conversations as a model. Have Ss mingle and practice the conversations.
