It had been a “long” and hard walk from home to the subway station for teenager Mandy Chan when she first put on Hanfu in public. Chan is one of the founders of Hanfu in Hong Kong. “It was a set with a cream-colored shirt, a brown jacket in China’s Ming dynasty style and a red pleated (有褶的) skirt made by me,” she recalled recently, almost 10 years later.
It was not the looks from others but her limited knowledge on the traditional Chinese clothing that had terrified her. Chan added, “If anyone had asked what I was wearing, or the history behind it, I would have been afraid I couldn’t tell them the whole picture.”
However, her uneasiness had gradually drifted away with more deep research on traditional Chinese culture. Hanfu was the traditional clothing of China’s Han ethnic group that was formed in the main residential areas of the Han people in ancient China. The historical clothing has untold stories and ideas in every detail. The cutting and stitching (缝合) line in the middle part of Hanfu fits the spine (脊柱) of the human body and helps people to dress properly. This design, which has gone beyond itself as mere decoration, points to the qualities of the wearers as upright and easy-going individuals.
“Instead of imitating people like what I used to do, I have jumped out of my comfort zone and found the style that suits me best,” Chan said. “Through Hanfu, I have found myself and so many unexplored things in my life.” Chan added that she had found her lifelong passion through Hanfu, which is a goal and dream that has never been absent from her life. Chan found she was not alone after falling in love with Hanfu. She believes that classics will never go out of style and she herself has integrated Hanfu into her everyday life.
24.Why did Chan feel uneasy when she first wore Hanfu in public?
A.It was not proper for a long walk.
B.She didn’t like the looks from others.
C.She was asked a lot about her clothes.

A.It tells special stories of its wearers.
B.It shows personal qualities of its wearers.
C.It has complex cutting and stitching.
D.It appeals to Han ethnic group especially.
26.What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.Hanfu has a strong influence on Chan.
B.Hanfu will be a big business in China.
C.Hanfu will take the lead in the fashion.
D.Hanfu allows her to know more people.
27.In which part of a magazine may we read this text?

Whether you're buying a house, a car or second-hand furniture, it's likely you will need to negotiate the price, so being able to negotiate effectively could save you significant cash.
Professor Lionel Page from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) said opening offers in real-world negotiations are sometimes intended to signal the "toughness" of the buyer - but whether this strategy actually works was not known. "This experiment allowed us to study whether and how the level of the opening offer influences the beliefs of buyers and sellers, their actions and the final bargaining outcome," said Professor Page.
The researchers conducted the experiment using a bargaining game. They found that the success or failure of a negotiation depended not only on the final offer on the table but also on the emerging dynamics of the bargaining process. "The intermediary offers made during a negotiation can be interpreted as suggesting either kind and compromising intentions, or unkind and uncompromising ones," said Professor Page. "And the perception of these intentions can, in turn, influence the final outcome. Low offers are perceived as disrespectful, so sellers react negatively and can be spiteful (恼 人) in their counter-offers (还价)," he said. This means it is not the best strategy to always be as tough as possible in a negotiation.
Previously there have been two conflicting views on first offers in negotiations, said Professor Page. One view is that a low opening offer works as an "anchor" that moves the final offer in the direction of the first offer. The second is that a more reasonable initial offer achieves a better outcome because it doesn't sour the atmosphere and endanger the agreement. Professor Page said their study showed support for both these ideas.
32.What is the purpose of paragraph 1?
A.To present a problem. B.To introduce the topic.
C.To give some examples. D.To put forward a concept.
33.What did the study mainly focus on?
A.The first offer in a negotiation. B.The final bargaining outcome.
C.The beliefs of buyers and sellers. D.The intentions in the process.
34.What can we learn about the study?
A.It was carried out in a real situation.
B.Participants shared kind intentions.
C.Most negotiations ended in failure.
D.Its result supported the previous views.
35.What can be the best title for the passage?
A.Counter-offers: A Bargaining Game
B.Compromise: A Bridge to a Good Deal
C.Bargain: A Reasonable Initial Offer Matters
D.Negotiation: Process Makes a Big Difference

The family had just moved to Rhode Island, and the young woman was feeling a little sad on that Sunday in May. After all, it was Mother's Day—and 800 miles separated her from her parents in Ohio.
She had called her mother that morning to wish her a happy Mother's Day, and her mother had mentioned how colorful the yard was now that spring had arrived. As they talked, the younger woman could almost smell the tantalizing aroma of purple lilacs (紫丁香) hanging on the big bush outside her parents' back door.
Later, when she mentioned to her husband how she missed those lilacs, he popped up from his chair. “I know where we can find you all you want,” he said. “Get the kids and come on.” So off they went, driving on the country roads of northern Rhode Island. Eventually, he stopped the car.
“Come with me,” he said. “Over that hill is an old cellar hole, and there are lilacs all around it. Go pick a few.”
There, on the top of the hill, were the towering lilacs bushes. While the man examined the cellar hole and tried to explain to the children what the house must have looked like, the woman had been cheered up, drifting among the lilacs. Carefully, she picked some out. She was in no hurry, admiring each blossom as a rare and delicate treasure.
Finally, though, they returned to their car for the trip home. When they were almost home, she suddenly shouted to her husband: “Stop the car. Stop right here!”
In a second, the woman was out of the car and hurrying up a nearby grassy slope with the lilacs still in her arms. At the top of the hill was a nursing home and, because it was such a beautiful spring day, the patients were outdoors, walking with relatives or sitting on the porch (走廊).

66.Dear Lee,
Sorry to hear that you have been sick for days and hope you are better now. You have studied so hard that you have had no time to do any exercise, which does harm to your physical and mental health. It would be of great benefit to your health if you could take more exercise.
Time spent on exercise is not wasted. Actually, exercise can improve your physical conditions and ease your mind. Only when you are in good health can you carry on studying and increase your study efficiency.
Therefore, I suggested that you take at least one hour's exercise every day. I would be very pleased to see you have a stronger body.
Sincerely yours,
Li Hua
67.Paragrah 1: The young woman went to the end of the porch, where an elderly patient was sitting in her wheelchair, alone. Across the porch railing went the flowers, into the lap of the old woman. She lifted her head, and smiled. For a few moments, the two women chatted, both faces brightening up, and then the young woman turned and ran back to her family. As the car pulled away, the woman in the wheelchair waved, holding the lilacs tightly.
Paragrah 2: Curiosity was aroused among the kids and the husband. "Mom, "the kids asked, "who was that? Why did you give her our flowers?" Mother explained that she didn't know the old woman. But it was Mother's Day, and she seemed so alone, and who wouldn't be cheered by flowers? "Besides, "she added, "I have all of you, and I still have my mother, even if she is far away. That woman needed those flowers more than I did." This satisfied the kids, but not the husband, who was plotting a plan to plant some lilacs around their own yard for another beautiful spring.
听力部分录音原文
Text 1
M: Who will join us for dinner tonight?
W: Bob and Candy. I also invited Mary, but she is out of town.
M: What a pity! I was hoping she would come.
Text 2
M: If I were you, I’d just walk to work. It would take you about 20 minutes. Riding a bike is a good choice, too.
W: I agree. But this week my husband is away on business, so I have to drive my kids to school before I go to work. I’m pressed for time, you know.
Text 3
W: It’s 8:30, Dave, and you’re going to be late for the meeting.
M: Oh, my! I just have half an hour left. I can’t believe I slept for 10 hours!
Text 4
M: Hi, Helen. Where are you off to?
W: To the library. I’ve got a history paper due next week, and need to do some reading.
Text 5
W: Thank goodness! You are still here.
M: What’s up?
W: I need your signature for this document. It’s urgent.
Text 6
W: Are you all alone, Tom? Why not ask Mike to help you collect money for the Children’s Centre?
M: Well, he’s working on his lab report. Could you come?
W: I’d love to, but I won’t be available until next week. I think Cathy will have some free time this week. Do you want me to pass on a message?
M: That’d be nice. Thanks, Jane.
Text 7
W: Are you leaving for the railway station now, Jack? It’s so early.
M: Just avoiding the rush hour traffic. I don’t want to be late.
W: So you have to wait for about two hours? I don’t think there’s scenery to look at.
M: Don’t worry! I’ll take a book with me.
W: It’s too noisy to read in the railway station. I would usually look around the shops while waiting for the train.
M: But I’ve already got all the gifts for my parents and sisters. I don’t need to buy anything. If I really can’t focus on the book, I may phone up some friends I haven’t talked to in a while.
W: That’s a nice idea. Betty told me last time that she often spent the waiting time writing a to-do list so that she’d not miss anything in the days to come.
M: That’s an awesome idea.I’ll surely do that. Thank you, Judy. See you next year.
W: Bye!
Text 8
W: Hi, Bill. You look troubled. What’s the matter?
M: Hi, Grace. I have a big decision to make. My uncle offered me a job as the lead engineer at his service station, and with good pay.
W: That’s wonderful, but are you going to quit college?
M: That’s exactly the problem. One side of me says, “Oh, go ahead! You can go back to college anytime. What job could you get after college that would pay you $15 an hour? That’s $30,000 a year!”
W: And then?
M: And then, the other side says, “Hold it, not so fast! For all those years you were in the army, you planned to go to college so that you would have many job possibilities to choose from. You’ve planned your whole life around going to college. And now…”
W: I can see it. It’s true that with your experience in the army, you could do excellent work repairing cars if you accept the job. But you are doing very well now. Just think of the future. You will get better jobs.
Text 9
W: Hey, John. Can I talk to you for a minute?
M: Sure, what’s up?
W: I wanted to let you know about a book club I joined a few months ago. I know you do a lot of reading, so I thought you might want to come with me next month.
M: Oh, that sounds like fun. When does the group meet?
W: Usually the last Saturday of the month at 7:30 in the evening. Is that too late for you?
M: No, I think that’s okay. What do you talk about in the group?
W: Well, every month we choose a new book. And then during the next meeting, we discuss it.
M: What books have you read?
W: Quite a lot. Recently we have read The Beautiful Mind and The Great Gatsby. Now we are reading The Kite Runner.
M: The Kite Runner? I’ve heard that’s a good book. What’s it about?
W: It’s about a boy who grows up in Afghanistan during the 1980s.
M: That sounds interesting. I’d love to come.
W: Great! The next meeting will be held in two weeks, so you still have time to read the book.
Text 10
W: Today, let’s begin with note-taking techniques. Note-taking is an important skill not only for taking classes, but also for doing your job in the future. I’d like to draw your attention to certain points about taking notes. First, remember that note-taking should be 75% listening and only 25% writing, so don’t try to write down every single word the teacher says. Ignore what is unimportant and write in phrases, not complete sentences. Second, leave spaces and lines between main ideas. You may want to add some information later. I find that some of you are very good at making use of color, mapping web, and symbols such as arrows, circles and boxes. I highly recommend these tools to all of you, because the use of them makes the outline more easily readable and interesting than the blocks of text. It also makes sure that important words stand out. Here are some examples.
