1. 教具：多媒体，单词卡，图片

2. 板书：写好课题 Unit 5 Helping our parents

六、教学过程

Step 1: Warm-up

1. Greetings

2. Enjoy a song

What are you doing？

3. Brain storm

Try to think about the “ing” words in the song.

Step 2: Sound time 

1. Learn pronunciation of “ing”

T: Do you remember “ing” words in the song?

Ss: They all pronounce [iŋ].

2. Try to read

T: Try to read “growing” and “blowing” . 

Ss read after the teacher.

3. Look and choose

T: Ow, here are some words with “ing”, let’s look at the pictures.

Ss choose them to fill in the blanks. 

4. Listen and read

Read after the tape together, pay attention to the dashed parts. 

Step 3: Game time

1. T: Some Ss are doing housework at home. Let’s see who is not helping his/her parents do housework. Watch carefully!

    Ss: Picture 1.

2. T: Some Ss are cleaning the classroom. Let’s see who is not cleaning. Watch carefully!

    Ss: Picture 2.

Step 4: Fun time

T tells Ss the game rules, and ask Ss to make dialogues.

S1: What’s he/she doing?/What are they doing?

S2: He’s/She’s/They’re…

Step 5: Song time 

Now we have many grapes on the blackboard, we can invite our friends to come and share them.

But I think we also need some tea, let’s take out the kettle and put the kettle on.  Let’s enjoy a song!

1. Help students understand: 

“put the kettle on”, “take it off”, “They’ve all gone away”. 

2. Read the sentences and introduce the culture. 

3. Try to follow the song. 

4. Sing the song with actions. 

Step 6: Summary

T: Can you choose a topic for our lesson today?

Ss: Yes. We choose “Helping is happiness”.

Step 7: Homework

1. Read sound time, find some other words with "ing" and try to read.
2. Play Fun Game with classmates and use the sentences we learn today.
