一、New words

care 名词，“照料;管理;关怀”，英音:[kεə] 美音:[kεr]

      动词，“关心;担心;在乎,介意”

派生词：careful， carefully， careless， carelessly

be careful with “对…细心”, 嘱咐别人小心做事, 我们可以用“be careful with...”，“with”后接名词或动名词。如：

Be careful with the wet paint.

小心, 油漆未干。

也可以说“be careful (not) to do...”， 如：

Be careful not to catch a cold. Put on more clothes before you go out.

小心别感冒了。出门之前多穿点衣服。

  Be careful not to spill the milk.

小心别把牛奶溅出来了。

另外，care for 关怀, 照顾，喜欢   

care about 担心;在乎

take care of 照顾

如：I don't care for coffee.

我不喜欢喝咖啡。

My father wanted me to know that he still cared for me.

我爸爸想要我知道他仍爱着我。

People care about the environment very much now.

现在人们非常关注环境。

We should care about our friends.

我们应该关爱我们的朋友。

2) You have to learn to look after your possessions.

你得学会保管好自己的财物。

3. raise animals = keep animals = feed animals 饲养动物

  My mother raised a a dog last month.

我妈妈上月养了一只狗。

Many people like animals and keep one or more as pets.

  许多人喜欢动物并且饲养一两只当宠物。

4. open up 打开，开放

close up  关闭，合起来

三、Grammar

1. I’ll cover it when the weather is cold.

这是一个 when 引导的时间状语从句的主从复合句，注意“主将从现原则”。如：

We will inform him when he gets here.

When I grow up, I’ll be a nurse and look after patients.

2. I’ll send some seeds to Li Ming.

send sb. sth.= send sth. to sb. 把某物送给某人

give sb. sth. = give  sth. to sb. 把某物给某人

sell sb. sth. = sell sth. to sb. 把某物卖给某人

tell sb. sth. = tell sth. to sb. 告给某人某情况

lend sb. sth. = lend sth. to sb. 把某物借给某人
