Wrld War I, an internatinal cnflict in 1914–1918 embriled （使卷入） mst f the natins f Eurpe alng with Russia, the United States, the Middle East, and ther regins. The war pitted the Central Pwers—mainly Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey—against the Allies—mainly France, Great Britain, Russia, Italy, Japan, and, frm 1917, the United States. It ended with the defeat f the Central Pwers.
Wrld War II invlved virtually every part f the wrld during the years 1939–1945.
