Accrding t recent campus and prfessinal press reprts, mre students are thrifting s they can remain fashinable during the ecnmic dwnturn.

Exercising with a friend is mre mtivating than ging unaccmpanied, accrding t new research. It als suggests interacting with active peple can influence the sedentary t becme mre active.
The research was develped by a team led by Ensela Mema, PhD frm Kean University in New Jersey. Accrding t the researchers, the 2018 U.S. Department f Health and Human Services guidelines recmmending the types and amunts f physical activity haven’t inspired much imprvement in daily exercise rutines.
S, Mema and ther researchers lked at previus research shwing scial interactins with cntempraries can play a key rle in prmting physical activity within a cmmunity. They develped a mathematical mdel simulating hw scial interactins can affect a ppulatin’s exercise trends ver time.
Using data frm the U.S. Military Academy, the simulatins shwed ppulatins with decreasing physical activity and sedentary behavir-always sitting and rarely mving-were mst cmmn in the absence f scial interactins. Hwever, when simulatins included scial interactins between sedentary and active peple, they became mre physically active in the lng term.

Experts say there’s nt nly an increased level f enjyment with grup exercise, there’s als accuntability, making it mre likely that peple shw up and get results. Depending n the individual’s persnality, expectatins, experience, and mtivatin, everyne can respnd differently and uniquely t a mre scial exercise envirnment. Sme individuals are mre internally accuntable, where they will never miss a cmmitment they make t themselves, and thers are mre externally accuntable, where they are mre likely t exercise when they have an external accuntability system.
Whereas sme individuals may feel cmpetitive, that sense f cmpetitin can be friendly r serius. Others can cmpare themselves with thers, which can either lwer r increase cnfidence depending n the cntext.

    A. Sprty persns.B. Inactive individuals.
    C. Energetic yuths.D. Uncnfident singles.
13 What may be the prblem with the 2018 guidelines abut physical activity?

    B. They were targeted at residents in cmmunities.
    C. T many ways f exercise were recmmended.
    D. Scial interactins’ effect n exercise wasn’t cnsidered.
    14. What did experts explain in paragraph 6?

    B. Hw t engage mre peple t exercise.
    C. Why verall physical activity cntributes t health.
