    Lesson 26: Li Mings Family

     

    设计说明

    首先,通过谈论家庭引入新课的学习,然后学习本课的生词及短语;接下来学习本课的两篇短文,对两篇短文的处理均通过完成指定任务的方式学习,所设任务由易到难,帮助学生逐步理解短文,掌握语言;最后阅读短文,提升学生的朗读能力。习题部分23随堂使用,14在完成课文教学之后再集中训练。整个课堂教学环节紧扣听、说、读、写这四种英语的基本学习方式和基本技能,全方位提升学生的语言运用能力。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握单词weekend, together, hard

    接触词汇businessman, others

    短语on weekends, play football, be close to..., be ready to..., work hard at school

    2.能力目标

    (1) 能听懂有关谈论家庭和家庭成员的短文;

    (2) 能用英语谈论家庭成员的工作、特征、爱好等。

    3.情感目标

    加深与家人之间的了解,增进彼此间的亲情。

    重点难点

    1.重点掌握本课节的重点单词和短语;理解并朗读短文。

    2.难点能用英语谈论家庭成员的工作、特征、爱好等。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Free talk.

    Get the students to work in pairs. Get them to ask and answer questions about their families.

    A: How many people are there in your family?

    B: …

    A: Who are they? And what do they do?

    B: ... 

    A: Do you have a cousin? What does he/ she do?

    B: ...

    Step 2  Word studying

    Learn the new words and expressions by talking about them.

     

    1. What are they doing?

    They are singing together.

     

    2. Look at the students. They work hard at school.

      Theyre kind and theyre ready to help others.

     

    3. This is my brother. He likes sports.

    So he plays football on weekends.

    He is close to me.

     

    4. This is Mr Hu. What does he do, do you know?

    He is a businessman.                     

     

    Step 3  Looking, answering and completing   

    1. Present Li Mings family tree to the whole class and ask them to think.

    (1)Who are the people there?

    (2)Who is at the bottom?

    (3)Who is in the middle?

    (4)Who is at the top?

    Answers: (1) Li Mings family members.

             (2) Li Ming and his cousin Jing.

             (3) Li Mings parents and his aunt and uncle.

             (4) Li Mings grandparents.

    2. Ask them to complete the sentences according to the picture.

    (1)Li Ming has ________ grandfathers and two ________.

    (2) Li Jing is Li Ming’s ________.

    (3) Li Ming’s father is Uncle Dachao’s ________.

    (4) Li Ming’s mother is Li Jing’s ________.

    Answers: (1) two, grandmothers (2) cousin (3) brother (4) aunt

    Step 4  Listening and completing

    1. Ask the students to listen to the recording carefully and then complete the passage.

    This is my (1) ________ tree. We live in (2) ________. I have two grandmothers and two grandfathers. I have (3) ________ brothers or sisters. My parents have one son, me! My uncle and aunt have one (4) ________, Li Jing. She is very (5) ________. I love my family.

    2. Check the answers together.

    Answers: (1) family (2) China (3) no (4) daughter (5) young

    Step 5  Reading and answering

    Ask the students to open their books and read Li Ming’s family tree. Try to find the answers to the questions. (Let’s Do It! No. 2)

    1. Does Li Ming’s mother have any brothers or sisters?

    2. Does Li Ming’s father have any brothers or sisters?

    3. How many aunts and uncles does Li Ming have?

    4. How many cousins does Li Ming have?

    Answers: 1. No, she doesnt.

    2. Yes, he does. He has one brother.

    3. He has one aunt and one uncle.

    4. He has one cousin.

    Step 6  Reading and retelling

    1. Ask the students to read the passage first after the recording, then on their own.

    2. Ask two or three of them to read.

    3. Ask the students to try to retell the passage with the help of the picture.

    Step 7  Listening and judging

    Ask the students to listen to Part 2 of the lesson and write true (T) or false (F).

    1. Li Ming’s father likes playing football.           (  )

    2. Li Ming’s mother is a teacher.                  (  )

    3. Li Ming works hard at school.                  (  )                      

    Answers: 1. T 2. F 3. T

    Step 8  Reading and answering

    Ask the students to read this part again and try to answer the questions.

    1. What does Li Ming’s father do?

    2. What do Li Ming and his father do on weekends?

    3. What does Li Ming’s mother do?

    4. What is she like?

    5. What does Li Ming do?

    Answers: 1. He is a businessman.

    2. They play football.

    3. She is a doctor.

    4. She is very kind.

    5. He is a student.

    Step 9  Reading and completing

    Ask the students to read part 2 of the lesson and fill in the blanks. (Let’s Do It! No. 3 )

    Step 10  Reading and thinking

    1. Ask the students to read the passage first after the recording, and then on their own.

    2. Ask them to find the phrases in the passage and put them into Chinese.

    2. Ask the students to work in groups. Tell each of them to draw and label his/ her own family tree. Then talk about it. Ask the students to think:

    Who is the family member?

    What is his / her name?

    Is he/ she young or old, tall or short?

    What colour is his/ her hair or eyes?

    What does he/ she do? (Lets Do It! No. 4 )

    Step 12  Summary

    Sum up what weve learnt in this period with the class.

    1. New words: weekend, together, hard, businessman, others.

    2. Phrases: on weekends, play football, be close to, be ready to, work hard at school.

    3. Key sentences: This is my family tree.

      I have no brothers or sisters.

      She is a doctor and she is very kind.

    Step 13  Language points

    1. I have no brothers or sisters. 我没有兄弟姐妹。

    (1) no此处作形容词,意为没有,用于名词前,修饰可数名词或不可数名词均可。

    There is no water in the cup. = There is not any water in the cup.

    杯子里没有水。

    She has no friends. = She doesn’t have any friends.

    她没有朋友

    (2) or连词,意为,常用于否定句。在肯定句中用and连接并列成分。

    I don’t have a book or a pen.

    我没有一本书和一支笔。

    I have a book and a pen. 我有一本书和一支笔。

    2. I can talk to him about everything. 我可以和他聊任何事情。

    (1) talk to sb. about sth.意为和某人谈论某事talk to相当于talk with,意为……交谈talk about意为谈论……

     My father sometimes talks to me about movies.

      有时候我父亲与我谈论电影。

     Mr Lin often talks to me. 林老师经常与我交谈。

     What are they talking about? 他们在谈论什么?

    (2) everything是不定代词,意为任何事情,其他类似的不定代词还有something, anything, nothing等。

     She gets everything ready before breakfast.

     早饭之前她把一切都准备好。

    3. I am close to her. 我和她关系很近。

     close作形容词,意为密的;靠近的

    be close to sb.与某人亲近;(在位置上)靠近

     The little girl is close to her brother.

     这个小孩和她的哥哥关系很密切。

     Don’t stand too close to the animals.

     不要站得离这些动物太近。

    [拓展] close作动词,意为关上

     It’s cold outside. Please close the window.

      外面很冷,请把窗户关上。

    4. She is always ready to help others. 她总是很乐意去帮助其他人。

     be ready to do sth.意为乐意做某事;准备做某事

     Mike is kind and he is always ready to help us.

      迈克很善良,他总是乐意帮助我们。

     The children are ready to have lunch.

      孩子们准备吃午餐。

    5. I work hard at school. 在学校努力学习。

     (1) work hard意为努力学习;努力工作hard是副词,意为努力地,在句中修饰动词work

      Students should work hard at school.

    学生们应努力学习。

    My father works hard every day.

    我父亲每天努力工作。

     (2) at school是固定短语,意为在学校

     We aren’t at school on weekends.

    在周末我们不上学。

    6. We always have fun together. 我们在一起总是玩得很愉快。

     have fun意为玩得开心,相当于have a good timeenjoy oneself

     have fun doing sth.做某事很开心

    We are having fun at the party.

    = We are having a good time at the party.

      我们正在聚会上玩得开心。

     We have a lot of fun in the park.

      我们在公园里玩得很开心。

     They have fun playing football on the playground.

      他们在操场上踢足球很开心。

    Step 14  Homework

    1. Remember the new words and expressions learnt in this lesson.

    2. Write a short passage about your family.

    3. Preview Lesson 27.
