Homework check. 2. Point and say the directions. Step 2 Warming up 1. Show a picture about a party and ask the class to discuss the following questions: Do you like parties? What do people do at a party? 2. Get some students to give their answers. Step 3 Presentation 1.Get the students to read the new words aloud by themselves. soon /suːn/adv.不久 invite /ɪnˈvaɪt/v.邀请 everyone /ˈevrɪwʌn/pron.每个人;所有的人 London /ˈlʌndən/伦敦(地名) capital /ˈkæpɪtl/n. 首都 U.K. (=United Kingdom /juˈnaɪtɪd ˈkɪŋdəm/)英国(地名) hey /heɪ/int.嘿;喂 Sydney /ˈsɪdnɪ/悉尼(地名) John /dʒɒn/约翰(人名) Mike /maɪk/麦克(人名) Washington /ˈwɒʃɪŋtən/ D. C. 华盛顿特区 Greg /greg/格雷格(人名) Vancouver /vænˈkuːvə/温哥华(地名) 2.Get the students to repeat the words two or three times after the teacher. Make sure they can pronounce them correctly. Step 4 Listening, labeling and filling Where are Jack’s friends from? Listen to the statements and label the countries. Then fill in the bubbles with the correct letters.(Let’s Do It! No. 1)

Jack is going back to Canada soon. 杰克不久就要回加拿大去了。 (1)is going构成现在进行时态,但在此处表示将要发生的动作。go, come, fly, leave等表示位置移动的动词,其进行时态常表示根据计划将要发生的动作。 We are going to Beijing this weekend.这个周末我们将去北京。 They are coming soon. 他们很快就会到来。 (2) soon副词,意为“不久”,常与将来时态连用。 We will have a picnic soon.我们很快将会野餐。 How soon will they come?他们多久会来? 2. Thank you for inviting me! 谢谢你邀请我! Thank you for...相当于Thanks for...,表示“因某事而感谢你”。for是介词,后接名词、代词或动名词。 Thank you for your dinner.谢谢你的晚餐。 Thank you for telling me about it.谢谢你告诉我这件事情。 4. I come from Sydney, Australia.我来自澳大利亚的悉尼。 come from意为“来自”,相当于be from。 Han Mei comes from Shanghai.= Han Mei is from Shanghai. 韩梅来自上海。 Where does Mr. Wang come from? = Where is Mr. Wang from? 王先生来自哪儿?
