Module 1  RelationshipsUnit 3  Friends from other countries (Stage 1)Reading: Foreigners in Garden City设计说明通过让学生自由交谈知道的国家，导入新课。呈现生词，为后面的学习做好铺垫。通过听、跟读以及判断正误，让学生熟悉对话，并锻炼他们抓主要信息的能力和分析理解能力。接下来通过细读，充分调动学生的积极性和主动性，既让他们掌握阅读的技巧，又使他们学到新知识。讲解大数的读法和表达，为后面Read, ask and answer部分的问答做准备。结合表格中人、人口数量的信息，让学生掌握特殊疑问句。结合本课节重点，设置拓展练习。让学生结合表格信息选择自己的笔友，锻炼学生的表达能力。讲解重要的知识点，让学生学考点、抓重点。最后结合对应的练习，检验学生的掌握情况。教学目标通过本课节的教学，让学生达成以下目标：1.知识目标掌握本课节新词汇：foreigner, crowded, example, for example, Canada, Canadian, Australia, Australian, India, Indian, Britain, Briton, Japanese；巩固用Wh-问句提问具体信息。2.能力目标能读懂有关介绍不同国籍的人的文章；能够熟练问答人口数量。3.情感目标让学生有机会了解异域文化，提高学生对异域文化的认知能力。重点难点重点：能读懂有关介绍不同国籍的人的文章。难点：能够熟练问答人口数量。教学准备PPT课件；活动Look and read的录音；有关各个国家的图片授课时数1课时教学过程Step 1 Warming upFree talk.T: What countries do you know?Get the students to talk freely and ask some students to talk about the countries they know.  Step 2 PresentationPresent some new words: foreigner, crowded, example, for example, Canada, Canadian, Australia, Australian, India, Indian, Britain, Briton, Japanese.1.
