设计说明

在Integrated skills课节中，首先要求学生描述同班同学，来复习上一节课的内容。然后通过游戏来巩固已学的知识点，为接下来新课的导入打下基础。通过浏览教材上的关于Kitty 和Amy 的材料，获取初步的信息，再以听力的形式使学生找到关于她们的完整信息，从而能运用已知的信息形成对语言的运用。在Speak up中，通过听力训练帮助学生学会在材料中找到重要信息，从而能进行知识输出。在Study skills课节中，运用他人的话题设计五个含有元音字母的人名，让学生逐步了解元音字母在重读开音节中的读音，最终学会运用发音规律学会朗读生词。

教学目标

通过本单元的教学，让学生达成以下目标：

1.知识目标：

掌握词汇：dancing, swimming, age, looks, cute，hobby，glad。

2.能力目标：

（1）能用获取的信息将语篇补充完整；学会使用相关话题进行交际。

（2）了解五个元音字母在重读开音节中的发音；运用其发音规律，准确朗读生词。 

3.情感目标：

学会人际交往并能正确处理人际关系。

Step 1  Warming up

Ask students to say something about their classmates and then play a guessing game with the following sentences.

Hi, … This is …

He/She is from …

He/She is good at…

Step 2  Presentation

1. Look through the profiles of Kitty and Amy and choose some information. Explain the new words hobby, dancing, swimming to help students.

 Answers: Hair: Kitty—long   Amy—short

         Hobby：Kitty—dancing  Amy—swimming

2. Listen to their conversation and complete the rest of the table.

 Answers：Age: Kitty—11   Amy—12

3. Finish Part A3 on page 14.

Step 4  Presentation

Continue the topic about making friends and present another five people and their names. They are Kate, Peter, Mike, Hobo and Una. With these names, we can present the five vowels—a, e, i, o, u.

Step 5  Practice

1. Put five letters in five sentences：

Kate likes making a cake near the lake.

We call Peter“he”, not“she”. He likes reading.

Mike likes flying a kite and riding a bike.

Hobo likes going home with a rose.

Una likes using the computer to listen to music.

And let students know their phonetic symbols(音标). Read them on page 15. By reading these words, help students find the rules of the five letters’ pronunciation and explain these rules for students.

2. Read and write. Try to finish Part A on page 15 and then check the answers.
