    Unit 5  Wild animals Reading

    设计说明

    先通过一个猜动物名称的游戏引出野生动物的话题,带领学生复习前一课时所学的野生动物的名称及其特征,也为学习大熊猫希望的成长过程做铺垫。通过让学生听和读来训练其根据上下文猜测文章大意的方法,同时学习新的词汇。之后通过精读、结合题目讲解知识点让学生提取文章细节并对文章中重点短语和句型进行记忆和理解。最后让学生通过对课文的学习,增强保护野生动物的意识。

    教学目标

    通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    1.知识目标

    掌握词汇:mean, beginning, sadly, face, serious, mainly, however, result, danger, action, reserve, law, none, be born, in the beginning, live on, as a result, in danger, take action, right away, at birth

    2.能力目标

    (1)能够了解大熊猫的成长过程及保护大熊猫的措施; 

    (2)能够根据上下文猜测词义;

    (3)能够用适当的英语表达方式向他人介绍大熊猫的情况。 

    3.情感目标

    增强保护野生动物的意识,从自我做起,保护生态环境。

    重点难点

    重点:理解文章内容,获取文章细节信息。

    难点:学会用英语谈论大熊猫的成长过程及保护大熊猫的措施。

    PPT 课件;相关图片。

    教学过程

    Step 1  Warming up

    Present some pictures of wild animals, but each picture just shows part of the animal. Ask students to guess what they are.

       T: What animal is this?

    S: This is a(an) giraffe/dolphin/zebra/kangaroo/panda/ elephant/tiger/camel.

    Step 2  Presentation

    1. Ask students to guess what the teacher’s favourite wild animal is.

       T: My favourite wild animal is very lovely. It looks like a bear. It likes eating bamboo. It lives in China. Can you guess what it is?

       S: The panda.

    2. Present three pictures of the panda and describe the pictures with some new words and phrases.

       T: Pandas are very cute. They look like white mice when they are born. In the beginning, they drink their mother’s milk. Six months later, they begin to eat bamboo. They mainly live on bamboo. Sadly, giant pandas face serious problems in the wild. They are in danger. We must take action to protect them right away.

       Write the words and phrases underlined on the blackboard and teach them.

    3. Ask students to read the passage and complete the exercise in part B1.

    be born 意为出生,出世,后可接时间或地点状语,说明出生的时间和地点。

      The baby weighed 3 kilos at birth.

     none代词,意为没有一个(人或物) ,指三者或三者以上中一个也没有,其反义词为allnone of... 意为……中一个也没有,后接复数概念的名词或代词作主语时,谓语动词单、复数皆可;后接不可数名词作主语时,谓语动词用单数形式。
