    设计说明

    首先通过图片呈现生词,导入新课,然后根据不同的任务引导学生逐步理解课文,逐步通晓阅读的技巧,最后解决课文中的重要知识点,为更好地掌握课文扫清障碍。

    教学目标

    通过本课时的教学,让学生达成以下目标:

    掌握单词短语:born, impress, sculpture, praise, general, race, lead, challenge, chief, high-speed, connect, miss, attention, standard, pioneer, surgeon, carelessness, extra, devote, respect, suitable, partner, either…or…, take the lead, fall behind, connect to/with, as good as, pay attention to

    2.能力目标

    通过阅读,提高学生阅读的能力,逐步掌握略读的阅读技巧。

    3.情感目标

    培养学生良好的个人品质,学会热爱本职工作,为将来工作做好准备。

    重点:学习并掌握本课时的单词和短语,理解文章大意,掌握重要句型。

    难点:掌握略读的阅读技巧。

    Step 1  Lead-in

    Ask and answer questions very quickly.

    ·What does your father do?

    ·Where does he work?

    ·Does he love his work?

    ·What is his personality?

    ·Is he suitable for his job?

    Step 2  Presentation  

    1. Show some new words by showing them some pictures. The teacher uses a

    whole passage to join the words together.

      the high-speed highway; praise; sculpture; impress; pioneer; take the lead;

    2. Read the new words.

    3. Do B1. Match the words with their meanings.

    Task 1 First readingSkimming

    1. Show the four people. Read the passage very quickly and find out the answers: Who are they? What do they do?

    2. Ask the students how they can get the answers so quickly. Tell them the reading skills: Get the information from the pictures.

    1. Get the class to write a short description of their own personality. Then talk

      about what jobs they want to do in the future and see if their personality

    Step 6  Language points

    1. Wu Wei, the young artist, has impressed the whole country with his creative work. 年轻的艺术家吴伟用他富有创造力的作品给全国(人)留下了印象。

    impress sb. with sth. 意为“用……给某人留下印象”。

    The girl impressed her friends with her excellent drawing skills.

    这个女孩极好的绘画技巧给她的朋友们留下了很深的印象。

    【拓展】impression 名词,意为“印象”。

    2. You either take the lead or fall behind. 你要么领先,要么落后。

    1either...or... 意为“不是……就是……; 或者……或者 ……”。其用法如下:

    ① 表示两种可能性中任选一种,其后面连接两个相同的句子成分。

    连接的两个名词或代词作主语时,谓语动词与最靠近它的主语保持一致。

    She is coming back either today or tomorrow. 她不是今天回来就是明天回来。

    Either you or he is right. 不是你对就是他对。

    2take the lead(领先)和fall behind(落后)是一组反义短语。

    Simon takes the lead in the class, and Mary falls behind him.

    西蒙在班里处于领先地位,玛丽落后于他。

    3. Liu Hao is the chief engineer of the high-speed railway connecting    Sunshine Town to Tianjin. 刘皓是连接阳光城和天津的高速铁路的总工程师。

    (1) connect…with/to… …………相连

    If you connect your computer with the Internet, you can search for some information on the Internet.如果你把电脑跟网络连接,你就可以在网上搜索信息了。

    (2) connecting… 是现在分词短语作定语,修饰前面的the high-speed railway

    Do you know the boy standing under the tree? 你认识站在树底下的那个男孩吗?

    4. To us, a miss is as good as a mile. 对我们来说,失之毫厘,谬以千里。

    (1) miss的用法:

    miss 名词,意为“错误, 过失”。

    Any miss can lead to failure.任何的过失都会导致失败。

    miss 及物动词,意为“错过,失去”。

    I missed the last bus and had to take a taxi home.

    我错过了末班车,只好坐出租车回家。

    miss 及物动词,意为“想念,思念”。

    He missed his parents when he was in America.在美国期间他想念父母。

    (2) as good as 意为“几乎,简直是”。

    My grandmother is as good as the blind without glasses.

    没有眼镜,我的奶奶简直跟盲人一样。

    After cleaning, my bedroom is as good as a new one.

    打扫过后,我的卧室简直跟新的一样。

    【拓展】as good as还表示“和……一样好”。

    My handwriting is as good as hers. 我的书法跟她的一样好。

    5. All of us know that it’s necessary to pay attention to every detail. 我们都知道注意每一处细节是非常有必要的。

    1)“It is + adj. + to do sth.”意为做某事是……的”, it是形式主语,真正的主语是后面的动词不定式。

    It’s necessary to do exercise every day.每天做运动是有必要的。

    2pay attention to 意为“注意”,后跟名词、代词或动名词。

    Please pay attention to listening carefully to teachers.请注意认真听老师说。

    You should pay attention to the safety instructions.你应该注意安全说明。

    6.As a doctor, you can’t be too careful,” she said.“作为一名医生,再怎么仔细也不为过,”她说。

    Cannot (can’t)... too... 意为无论……也不过分”,“越() ……()好”。

    One cannot be too modest. 一个人越谦虚越好。

    He can’t be too careful when he does everything.

    他做一切事情的时候,无论怎样小心也不算过分。

    7. Carelessness will be a disaster not only to ourselves but also to patients.

    粗心不但对于我们自己而且对于病人来说都将是一场灾难。

    not only... but (also) ... 意为“不但……而且……”,连接两个平行结构,连接主语时,谓语动词遵循“就近原则”。

    She not only plays the piano well, but also writes music.

    她不仅钢琴演奏得好,而且还会作曲。

    Not only he but also his parents like drawing.

    不仅他喜欢画画,他父母也喜欢。

    8. She has devoted most of her time to her work. 她把大部分时间都献给了工作。

    devote...to (doing) sth. 意为“把……贡献于……”。

    She devoted her life to helping the poor. 她一生都致力于帮助穷人。
