设计说明 首先,通过与同学们谈论生物学家达尔文引入本课内容。接着,利用图片学习本课节的词汇,并跟读练习。之后进入课文学习,首先通过听录音回答问题来了解课文大致内容,然后分段落阅读完成任务以达到对文章的理解,之后再次阅读来查找重要短语,接下来讲解课文中的重要知识点。之后,带领学生分析课文中的两个含定语从句的句子,并完成课本Let’s Do It! No. 2 的练习。接下来,通过玩游戏的方式进一步巩固对定语从句的掌握。最后,通过当堂达标的习题检测学生的掌握情况。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握单词:fantastic 接触单词:Chip Taylor, biology, butterfly, migrate, completely, grandchild, female, milkweed, chemical, puzzling 句型: The butterflies that return to the south are the great-great grandchildren of the butterflies that left for the north. But in Mexico, people cut down the trees that the butterflies need to rest on because they want more land for farming. 2. 能力目标 (1)能读懂介绍蝴蝶的文章; (2)学习定语从句。 3. 情感目标 培养探索自然的兴趣。 重点难点 1. 重点:掌握本课节的重点单词、短语和句型。 2. 难点:能读懂介绍蝴蝶的文章;学习定语从句。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的录音。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up 1. Show a picture of Charles Robert Darwin. Have a free talk with students. Q1: Do you know him? Q2: What do you know about him? 2. Show the information of Charles Robert Darwin. 查尔斯·罗伯特·达尔文(Charles Robert Darwin,1809年2月12日—1882年4月19日),英国生物学家,进化论的奠基人。曾经乘坐贝格尔号舰作了历时5年的环球航行,对动植物和地质结构等进行了大量的观察和采集。出版《物种起源》,提出了生物进化论学说,从而摧毁了各种唯心的神造论以及物种不变论。除了生物学外,他的理论对人类学、心理学、哲学的发展都有不容忽视的影响。恩格斯将“进化论”列为19世纪自然科学的三大发现之一,对人类有杰出的贡献。 3. Let students talk about: (1) Would you like to be a biologist when you grow up? Why or why not? (2) What mysteries of nature do you know about? Step 2 Presentation 1. Teach the new words butterfly, biology, migrate, fantastic, female, milkweed, grandchild, chemical, completely and puzzling by using the pictures.
2. (植)马利筋 chemical n. 化学物质 puzzling adj. 令人费解的 Step 3 Listening Play the recording of the lesson for the class to listen and answer the question: What’s the passage about? Answer: Butterflies. Step 4 Reading 1. Get the class to read Para. 1 and complete the sentences about Dr. Chip Taylor. Dr. Chip Taylor teaches _________ at a university in the USA. He studies one kind of_________________________. And ________________ about the butterfly have been drawing his attention. Answers: biology, North American butterfly, fantastic facts 2. Get the class to read Paras. 1-2 and complete the facts about butterflies.

Here, as many as 230 million butterflies spend the winter. 多达两亿三千万只蝴蝶在这里过冬。 ◆as…as…意为“与……一样……”,两个as之间可加形容词或副词的原级; as…as的否定形式为not as/so…as…。 This film is as interesting as that one.这部电影和那部电影一样有趣。 He is not as tall as his brother.他不如他哥哥高。 ◆spend(spent,spent)为及物动词,意为“度过,花(钱/时间)”,其所在句的主语应为人,常用于固定结构: spend time with sb.和某人一起度过时光 spend time/money doing sth.花费时间/金钱做某事 spend time/money on sth.在某物上花费时间/金钱 I like spending my free time with my friends. 我喜欢和朋友们一起度过我的空余时间。 He spent two hours doing his homework. = He spent two hours on his homework.他花了两个小时做作业。 3. The butterflies that return to the south are the great-great grandchildren of the butterflies that left for the north. 回到南方的蝴蝶是向北迁移的蝴蝶的玄孙(女)。 ◆leave for意为“动身去……,前往”。 leave ...for...离开……去…… They left for his hometown yesterday.昨天他们动身回老家了。 They will leave Beijing for Guangzhou tomorrow. 他们明天要离开北京去广州。 4. Student A writes a person’s name in the first column, folds the paper and passes it to Student B. Student B writes a statement begin- ning with “who”, folds the paper and passes it to Student C.
