设计说明 教师通过询问学生“你如果遇到了难以处理的问题,你会向谁诉说?”,很自然地导入新课;通过结对活动、小组合作等方式巩固预习本单元词汇;通过听说训练,让学生进一步掌握含有if引导的条件状语从句的复合句的特征和用法;讲练结合,掌握本单元的新知识点,复习巩固前面所学的知识点;朗读短文,提升朗读能力;通过设置针对性的写作任务,提升运用语言的能力。 教学目标 通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 学习本单元新单词及短语 come round, reason, try out, angry, no longer, be angry with sb. , repair, truth, least, at least, honest, apologise, bill, pocket money。 2. 能力目标 (1)能够读懂有关问题及建议的文章。 (2)能够理解他人的问题,并给出建议。 3. 情感目标 遇到问题时善于与他人进行交流,积极解决问题;热心地对有困难的人施以援手。 重点难点 重点:课文朗读;新学知识点的掌握和运用 难点:针对问题,给出相应的书面建议 教学准备 PPT课件;活动2的录音 授课时数 2课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in Ask and answer. T: Boys and girls, you may have problems with your parents, sisters and brothers, friends, classmates or teachers. If you have such problems, who will you talk to? Ss: … Discuss. What is the correct way for us to use the computer at home? Show some correct ways to use the computer at home to the class. Step 2 Fast reading 1. Look at the letter and the reply in Activity 2. Decide where they come from. a) A report. b) A magazine. c) A story. d) A play. (1) Ask the students to read through the letter and the reply in Activity 2 and then make a decision. (2) Check the answer in pairs, then as a class. Answer: b) 2. Read the letter and the reply. Choose the best summary of Steve’s problem. Steve’s problem a) Steve and his friend played a computer game on his father’s computer, though his father warned him not to do so. Steve’s father was really angry. b) Steve’s friend cut some documents by mistake from Steve’s father’s computer. His father was very angry. Steve did not know how to repair it. c) Steve and his friend played a computer game on his father’s computer. Some important documents were missing. His father was angry. Steve was worried about what to do. (1) Tell the class to read the letter and the reply again, and choose the correct answer. (2) Check the answer from the class. Answer: c) Step 3 Careful reading 1. Step 5 Language points 1. Well, while my dad was out, we decided to try out David’s game. 噢,当时我爸爸不在家,我们决定试一下戴维的游戏。 (1) decide to do sth. 意为“决定做某事”,动词不定式作宾语。 It was late. They decided to spend the night by the lake. 天色已晚,他们决定在湖边过夜。 (2) try out意为“试用;试”,是一个“动词+副词”结构的动词短语,名词作宾语时,放在out前后均可,但代词作宾语时,必须放在out之前。 Try out the camera before you buy it. 在买相机之前你要试用一下。 I have got a new computer. Let’s try it out. 我有一台新电脑,我们来试用一下它吧。 2. We copied it to the computer, and after we finished playing, we took it off the computer. 我们将它复制到电脑上,玩完后,我们把它从电脑上删除了。 (1) finish动词,意为“完成;结束”,finish doing sth. 意为“做完某事”。 When did you finish reading the novel? 你什么时候读完的这本小说? (2) take...off...在此表示“从……上删除;移除”。 I want to take the game off my computer. 我想把这个游戏从我的电脑上删除。 [拓展] take off还可表示“起飞;脱去”。 When does your plane take off? 你们的飞机何时起飞? It’s hot in the room. Take off your coat. 屋子里很热,脱去你的外套吧。 3. He could no longer find the documents anywhere! 他再也不能在任何地方找到他的文件了! no longer意为“不再” ,相当于not…any longer。no longer通常放在连系动词be、助动词、情态动词之后,实义动词之前。 He is no longer a basketball player. = He isn’t a basketball player any longer. 他不再是一名篮球运动员了。 They no longer live here. = They don’t live here any longer. 他们不再在这儿居住了。 [联想] no more意为“不再” ,相当于not…any more。no more侧重于强调动作或状态不再反复;而no longer侧重强调动作或状态不再延续。 The baby no more cried. = The baby didn’t cry any more. 这个婴儿不再哭了。 4. You should apologise to your father. 你应该向你父亲道歉。 apologise是不及物动词,意为“道歉”,相当于say sorry。其名词形式是apology,意为“道歉”。apologise的常见用法有: (1) apologise to sb. 向某人道歉。 I apologised to Daming and he accepted. 我向大明道了歉,他接受了。 (2) apologise (to sb.) for doing sth. =make an apology (to sb. ) for doing sth. 因某事向某人道歉。 David apologised to me for losing my English notebook. 戴维因为弄丢了我的英语笔记本而向我道歉。 5. If you offer to give up your pocket money, your father will realise that you are very sorry. 如果你主动提出放弃你的零花钱,你爸爸将会意识到你非常内疚。 offer 及物动词,意为“提供;提出” ,常用短语有: (1) offer to do sth. 主动提出做某事 He offered to help me with my maths. 他主动提出帮我学习数学。 (2) offer sb. sth. = offer sth. to sb. 给予某人某物 The kind girl offered the old man her seat on the bus. 那个好心的女孩在公交车上将座位让给了那个老人。 Step 6 Writing 1. Look at the letter by Steve in Activity 2. Find: 1 sentences that say what Steve did and when 2 sentences that say what happened next 3 sentences that say what the problem is 4 Steve’s questions (1) Tell the students to read the instructions and look for the sentences in the letter. (2) Check answers with their partners. (3) Compare as a class. Possible answers: 1 Last week, my friend David came round with a new computer game and asked to play it on my dad’s computer. Well, while my dad was out, we decided to try out David’s game. We copied it to the computer, and after we finished playing, we took it off the computer. 2 However, when I started the computer again to check if everything was OK, some of my dad’s documents were missing. 3 Then, when my dad used the computer last night… He could no longer find the documents anywhere! They were very important. I did not tell him about the computer game because I did not want him to be angry with me. 4 Should I tell him about the computer game? Should I pay to repair it? 2. Think of a problem. Write a short letter to Diana about the problem. Use the steps in Activity 5 to help you. 3. Work in pairs. Read each other’s problem letter. Suppose you are Diana and write a reply. Give your advice. A possible answer: Dear Diana, Last week, we had a history exam at school but I didn’t study for it. I was really worried. If I fail my history exam, my parents will get angry with me. In the exam, I was sitting very near Tom and I realised I could see his answers. So I copied them. I knew it was wrong to cheat, but I didn’t want to fail the exam. Yesterday, when our teacher gave us our results, she thought Tom copied my answers. I’m worried that if I tell the teacher the truth, she’ll be angry with me, and my parents will be very angry too. What should I do? Should I tell my parents first? Should I tell the teacher?
