设计说明

本单元以破坏生态环境的图片导入课堂，引导学生谈论该话题，激发学生学习的兴趣。然后通过听、说、读等训练，引导学生学习会话，培养学生阅读与交际的能力。指导学生学习会话中出现的知识点，提升解题能力。然后针对语调进行专项训练，最后通过做题，巩固并运用所学知识。

Step 1  Lead-in

1. Let the students look at the pictures and discuss:

（1）What can you see?

（2）What should we do?

2. Work in pairs. Look at the pictures and talk about them. Use the words in the box to help you.

（1）Ask students to look at the words in the box. Discuss the meaning of the words.

（2）Ask students to look at the pictures and say something about them using the words in the box.

（3）Put students in pairs to talk about the pictures.

Listen to Activity 2 and complete the sentences.

Step 4  Language points

1. And there are so many cars on the roads. They use so much oil and cause pollution as well. 路上有很多车。它们用很多油，也造成污染。

（1）so many意为“如此多的”，其后接可数名词复数。

（2）so much也意为“如此多的”，其后接不可数名词。

There is so much water in the ocean. 海洋里有太多水。

It is a pity that so many have died in this earthquake.

如此多的人在地震中去世是多么遗憾啊。

2. It’s no use talking about things we can’t do.

谈论我们不能做的事情是没有用的。

It’s no use doing sth. 是固定句型，意为“做某事没有用处”。其中it是形式主语，真正的主语是后面的动名词短语。

It’s no use blaming others for your mistake.

因为你的错误责备其他人是没有用的。

Listen, Tom，it’s no use living in the past.

听着，汤姆，活在过去是没有用的。

如果每个人都开始做一些事情，世界将会被拯救。

本句是含有if引导的条件状语从句的主从复合句。在含有if条件状语从句的复合句中，如果主句是一般将来时，从句则用一般现在时表示将来。

If he comes tomorrow, he will bring some books for me.

他如果明天来，会带些书给我。
