设计说明

首先，通过问答有关放学后的活动以及是否做家务等问题，导入新课。呈现本课生词，借助图片及句子语境，让学生体会意思，激发学生的学习兴趣。另外，本课涉及的体育运动——曲棍球，大多数学生可能接触较少，可对这项运动作必要的说明。学习新课，通过听课文完成句子，让学生有针对性地听取关键信息。接下来对课文进行精读，包括阅读课文回答问题，阅读课文判断正误等。另外，听课文完成思维导图，让学生梳理清楚整篇课文的脉络。完成Let’s Do It! No. 2中有关将图片与所给句子进行匹配的练习。通过翻译课文句子，让学生掌握重要句式。接下来，整合课文，要求先填空后复述，让学生能够更好地把握课文。另外，通过让学生写自己社区的短文，给学生提供语言输出的机会，便于学生自我检验并有意识地进行反思。讲解课文中的重难点，巩固所学英语知识。最后，通过当堂检测，检验学生对本节课的掌握情况。

教学目标

通过本课节的教学，让学生达成以下目标：

Step 1  Asking and answering

Ask the following questions for the students to answer.

●What do you like to do after school? Where do you like to go?

●Do you do any housework? What do you do?

Step 2  Presentation  

Show some pictures to teach the new words pond, freeze, hockey, block, bank, whole, chat and cost.

There is a frog in the pond.

Culture Tip:

What is hockey? It’s a very popular sport in Canada. You skate on ice and try to put a hard rubber puck in the opponent’s net.

1. Get the class to look through the following questions. Make sure the class can understand them. Then ask the class to read the lesson in order to find the answers.

2. Ask them to work out the answers in groups.

3. Elicit answers by asking individual students to read the sentences out.

过去式、过去分词均为cost。常用物作主语，即sth.+ cost+sb.+money“某物花费某人一些钱”。

The new car cost them 180 thousand yuan.这辆新车花费了他们十八万元。

sb.+spend+money/time+doing sth. 某人花费金钱/时间做某事

上面的例句可改写为：

They spent 180 thousand yuan on the new car.

或：They spent 180 thousand yuan buying the new car.

(2) sb.+pay+money+for sth.某人为某物支付金钱

上面的例句可改写为：

They paid 180 thousand yuan for the new car.

(3)it+take+sb.+time+to do sth.花费某人一些时间做某事。

It takes the workers two days to repair the car.修理这辆汽车花了工人们两天的时间。
