Lesson 43: What Makes You Unique?
设计说明 首先,教师通过让学生思考THINK ABOUT IT中的问题导入新课,通过图片和句子教授新单词和短语,为课文学习扫清障碍。学生先快速阅读对话,完成Let’s Do It! No. 1;然后细读对话,回答4个问题,通过此环节的训练,学生不但能熟悉对话内容,而且能抓住关键信息。再次阅读,找出对话中的重要短语,接着做Let’s Do It!中的听力练习。Let’s Do It! No. 3是针对短语be supposed to的专项训练,通过用所给信息造句,学生能够掌握该短语的用法。此后,教师讲解本课节重要的语言点,帮助学生解决学习过程中的疑惑和重难点。最后,通过当堂达标训练,检查学生的掌握情况。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 掌握单词:suppose, ourselves, person, personal, sense 接触单词:unique, talent, strength 短语:SOS, be supposed to, make sense 句型:①What’s up? ②It’s my pleasure. 2.能力目标 (1)能听懂、读懂有关谈论特长的对话; (2)能够用英语谈论自己的特别之处。 3.情感目标 通过本课节的学习,了解自己的独特之处,增强自信心。 重点难点 1.重点:掌握本课节的单词、短语和句型。 2.难点:用英语谈论自己的特别之处。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的音频文件。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Ask the students to think about the two questions. ①Are you proud of yourself ? ②What are you good at? 2.Ask the students to work in pairs. A:I’m good at singing. What are you good at? B:I am good at… Step 2 Vocabulary 1.Teach the new words and expressions of this lesson. a unique house The house is unique. /juːˈniːk/ adj.独特的 SOS 紧急求救 (国际救难信号,一般作为 海难求救信号)

Describe yourself and explain why you are unique. Write a report about yourself and include some drawings or photographs. Here are some ideas of things to write about: ·What are your personal strengths? ·Do you have any talents? ·What makes you happy? ·What are you proud of? Step 7 Language points 1. What’s up? 怎么了? What’s up?常用于口语中,表示“怎么了?/有什么事?/近来怎么样?” 类似的表达还有: What’s wrong (with you)? What’s the matter/trouble (with you)? What happened to you?等。 Danny looks too sad. What’s up with him? 丹尼看起来太悲伤了。他怎么了? 2. We are supposed to describe ourselves in a report.我们应该在报告中描述一下自己。 be supposed to do sth.表示“应该做某事”,相当于should do sth. 。 We are supposed to finish it in two hours. = We should finish it in two hours. 我们应该在两小时内完成。 【拓展】be supposed to do sth.的否定形式为be not supposed to do sth.,相当于should not do sth.,意为“不应该做某事”。 You are not supposed to smoke in the room. =You should not smoke in the room.你不应该在房间里吸烟。 3.What do you like about yourself ?你对你自己有什么看法? What do you like about…?相当于What do you think of...?/How do you like...? —What do you like about your school?你认为你们学校怎么样? —It’s pretty good.相当好。 4. What makes you unique?什么使得你很独特? “make sb.+adj.”表示“使某人……”,此处形容词作宾语补足语。 The news made me sad.这则消息使我伤心。 【拓展】make后还可跟名词作宾语补足语,即“make sb.+n.”。 What makes you a good student?什么使你成为一个好学生? 5.It’s my pleasure.我的荣幸。 It’s my pleasure.相当于It’s a pleasure./My pleasure. 是对别人表示感谢时的礼貌答语。 —Thanks for helping me! 谢谢你帮助我! —It’s my pleasure.我的荣幸。 【拓展】With pleasure.意为“乐意效劳”,多用于别人请求帮忙时,自己很愿意去做。 —Can you pass me a glass of water?你能递给我一杯水吗? —With pleasure.乐意效劳。 Step 8 Summary Sum up what we’ve learnt in this period with the class. 1.
