Lesson 7: Don’t Be Late for Class!
设计说明 通过向学生展示有关学科的图片,引入本单元话题“我最喜欢的学校科目”,通过谈论自己最喜欢的学科和擅长的学科,引导学生运用所学语言,表达自己的观点,培养学习兴趣,感受各学科所带来的乐趣。通过谈论时间,让学生掌握有关时间的正确表达,同时,培养他们的时间观念。将Let’s do it!中的练习穿插到整个教学过程中,既对本课节所学内容巩固提升,又使各教学环节衔接自然、流畅。通过语言点的讲解,帮助学生解决课文中的疑惑和重难点。最后,通过当堂达标训练,让学生自测本课节掌握的情况,便于查漏补缺。 教学目标 通过本课节的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1. 知识目标 掌握单词:geography 接触单词:sometime, painter, timetable 短语:be late for, in two minutes 2. 能力目标 (1)能够介绍所学学科的情况。 (2)学会时间表达法。 (3)初步了解现在完成时的用法。 3. 情感目标 通过本课节的学习,增强时间观念,避免上课迟到的现象;通过谈论学科,养成热爱学习的好习惯。 重点难点 1. 重点:掌握本课节的单词、短语和句型。 2. 难点:现在完成时的用法;时间表达法。 教学准备 PPT 课件;本课节用到的音频文件。 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Show a picture to the students. Then ask and answer the questions. T: How many subjects do you study? Ss: … T: What are they? Ss: … 2. Make a list of school subjects on the board.
3. Ask the students to work in pairs. A: What’s your favourite subject? B: My favourite subject is... A: What subjects are you good at? B: I am good at... Step 2 Listening 1. Listen to the dialogue and match the people with their favourite subjects. (Listen once or three times for finishing number 3 of Let’s Do It!. ) 2. Check the answers. Answers:
Step 3 Presentation Ask the students to read the new words of this lesson. And then try to remember the new words in five minutes. geography /dʒɪˈɒɡrəfɪ/ n. 地理(学) sometime /ˈsʌmtaɪm/ adv. 在某时 painter /ˈpeɪntə/ n. 画家 timetable /ˈtaɪmˌteɪbl/ n. 课程表;时间表 Step 4 Reading Task 1 1. Ask the students to read the dialogue and then answer the questions. (1)Is Jenny good at art? (2)When does Jenny have art? 2. Students should check and correct their answers in groups. 3. Check their answers together. Answers: (1)No, she isn’t. (2)She has art on Tuesdays. Task 2 1. Ask the students to read the dialogue again and answer the questions. (1)What is Brian’s favourite subject? (2)How many pictures has Brian painted this week? (3)What does Jenny think of Brian’s paintings? (4)How is Jenny at art this year? 2. Check the answers in groups. 3. Ask and answer in pairs. Answers: (1) Brian’s favourite subject is art. (2) He has painted six pictures this week. (3) Jenny thinks Brian’s paintings are beautiful. (4) Jenny is much better at art this year. Task 3 Read the conversation again and find these phrases. 1. ……迟到 be late for 2. 上地理课 have geography 3. 希望做某事 hope to do sth. 4. 在将来 in the future 5. 需要做某事 need to do sth. 6. 擅长 be good at 7. ……中的一个 one of… 8. 两分钟之后 in two minutes 9. 想要做某事 want to do sth. Task 4 1. Find out all the sentences like “I have painted six pictures this week! ” 2. Check the answers in the whole class. Answers: I have seen some of your paintings. I’ve told you many times, Jenny. She has taught us a lot. 现在完成时的谓语结构:have/has+过去分词 3. Do some exercises. I have read ( read ) this story three times this month. Role play the conversation. Step 5 Practice Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the given words. 1. Nobody wants _______ (be) late for school. 2. Show Learning Tip to the students. 2. Ask the students to read Learning Tip. 3. Sum up the grammar. 时间表达法 一、直接读数字 7: 00 读作:seven或seven o’clock 8: 30 读作:eight thirty 9: 15 读作:nine fifteen 10: 30 读作:ten thirty 11: 59 读作:eleven fifty-nine 二、借助past和to来表示 1. 分钟小于或等于30的用past。其中15分读作a quarter,30分钟读作half。 6: 08 读作:eight past six 9: 30 读作:half past nine 2. 分钟大于30的用to。 6: 45 读作:a quarter to seven 11: 58 读作:two to twelve 3. Practice. Jenny’s art class starts at 10: 15. Now it is ten past ten. Jenny is five minutes early. The maths class begins at 9: 00. Now it is half past nine. Danny is half an hour late.
Step 7 Group work Work in groups. Fill in your class timetable and discuss it with each other. Task tips: How many classes are there? What classes do you like and what classes don’t you like? Why or why not? What’s your favourite class? 1. Instruct the students to complete the class timetable independently. Encourage the students to draw a picture or symbol for each subject. For example, for music class a student may choose to draw a music note( ) or a globe for geography. 2. In groups, they can share and discuss their timetables using the questions in “Task tips” as a guide. 3. Choose one group at a time to present their timetables and the results from their discussion. Step 8 Language points 1. Don’t Be Late for Class! 上课不要迟到! be late for sth. 意思是 “做某事迟到/晚了”,类似的句型还有be late to do sth. 。 Mr. Smith was late for the meeting yesterday. 昨天史密斯先生开会迟到了。 Mary was never late for school. 玛丽上学从不迟到。 2. I hope to see them sometime. 我希望某个时候能看看它们。 (1)hope 一般表示可实现的愿望。常用结构: ①hope to do sth. 希望做某事 I hope to be a doctor. 我希望当一名医生。 ②hope +that从句 希望…… I hope (that)she will be well again. 我希望她会痊愈。 【拓展】wish 一般表示不能实现的愿望。常用结构: ①wish+that从句(从句常用虚拟语气)希望…… I wish I could fly to the moon in a spaceship one day. 但愿有一天我能坐宇宙飞船飞向月球。 ②wish to do sth. 希望做某事 We wish to visit Yanan. 我们希望能游览延安。 ③wish sb. to do sth. 希望某人做某事 We wish you to be happy. 我们希望你幸福。 ④wish sb. sth. 祝愿某人某事 I wish you success. 祝你成功。 (2) 辨析:sometime, some time, sometimes与some times I will come to see you sometime next week. 下周的某个时候,我会来看你。 He’ll be away for some time. 他要离开一段时间。 He sometimes goes to school on foot. 他有时步行去上学。 I am sure that we have met some times before. 我肯定我们从前见过几次。 3. I am much better at art this year. 我今年更擅长美术了。 (1)“much+比较级” 的意思是“更……;……得多”。 He runs much faster than Tom. 他跑得比汤姆快得多。 【拓展】常见的修饰比较级的词语有:much, a lot, a little, a bit, even, far等。 (2)be better at是be good at的比较级。be good at意为“擅长”,与do well in 同义,at和in都是介词,其后可接名词、代词或动词-ing形式。 I am good at swimming. =I do well in swimming. 我擅长游泳。 4. It’s one of my favourites!它是我最喜欢的(课程)之一! “one of+限定词+可数名词复数” 意为“……之一”。如果该结构在句中作主语,谓语动词应用第三人称单数形式。 One of my friends comes from Beijing. 我的一个朋友来自北京。 【拓展】“one of +the+形容词最高级+可数名词复数”意为“最……的……之一”。 Mary is one of the most popular students in our class. 玛丽是我们班最受欢迎的学生之一。 5. Class will start in two minutes!两分钟后就上课了! in two minutes 意为“两分钟之后”,“in+一段时间”表示 “一段时间之后”, 通常用于一般将来时,常用how soon进行提问。 You can fly across the country in four hours. 你可以在四个小时内飞越这个国家。 Step 9 Summary Sum up what we’ve learnt in this period with the class. 1.
