Module 1 How to learn EnglishUnit 2 You should smile at her!设计说明设置话题“怎样学英语”和“你在英语学习中有什么问题”让学生讨论,既衔接了上一单元的内容,又引出本单元的阅读话题;课文按照“速读—细读—读后运用”的基本步骤进行教学,培养学生的阅读技巧。其中,“读后运用”按照“先说后写,先易后难”的原则推进,使训练层层深入,步步为营,稳扎稳打。教学目标通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标:1.知识目标掌握本单元新单词及短语: vocabulary,ask for,improve,basic,time,advise,shy,conversation,quickly,natural,suggest,place。2.能力目标(1)能理解总结关于解决问题的文章,能获取文章中的细节信息; (2)能运用提建议的句型就英语学习的方法展开讨论。3.情感目标 在学习如何提出建议的过程中逐步把握语言的得体性,学会照顾对方的感受。重点难点重点:理解解决问题、提出建议的短文难点:运用提建议的句型给出学习英语的建议教学准备PPT课件;活动2的录音授课时数2课时教学过程Step 1 Warming up1. Make the students talk about how to learn English well in groups. And then ask some of them to give the answers.2. Ask the students to talk about their problems in English learning. T: What problems do you have in learning English?S1: I can’t catch the meaning of the lines in some films.S2: I’m shy and can’t speak to foreigners.S3: I’m nervous when I want to speak to someone.S4: I can’t remember the words.S5: ....Step 2 ReadingFast reading1. Ask the students to read the passage quickly. And answer the questions.Q1: How many basic questions are there?Q2: What are the basic questions about?2. Check the answers in pairs.Answers:1. There are three basic questions.2. The first question is about understanding English.The second question is about speaking.The third question is about vocabulary.Careful reading1.(1)Ask the students to read Paragraphs 2 and 3 and answer the questions. ① Why does it take Li Hao a long time to watch films and listen to songs in English?② What is the Language Doctor’s advice? Check the answers together.Answers:Li Hao: Watch English films and listen to English songs several times,guess the meaning of the new words and talk about the films and songs with friends.Wang Fan: Say “Hello! How are you?”“Do you like China?”to start a conversation. Smile before speaking. Don’t be shy and just tryZhang Lei: Write four or five new words a day on pieces of paper and place them in your room. Read the words when you see them and try to use them3. Finish Activity 4.Complete the passage with the correct form of the words in the box. Many students ask for advice about how to improve their English.许多学生请我就如何提高英语水平给出建议。(1)ask for sth.寻求某物ask sb. for sth.要求某人给某物ask sb. to do sth.要求某人做某事① He asks his teacher for help. 他向他的老师寻求帮助。② The teacher asks Tom to come earlier. 老师要求汤姆早一点来。(2)advice不可数名词 建议a piece of advice 一条建议ask (sb.) for advice征询(某人的)意见give/offer sb. some advice给某人提出建议/意见= give/offer some advice to sb. give (sb.) some advice on/about doing sth.给某人提出关于(做)某事的建议/意见(3)improve 及物动词 改进;改善I want to improve my English, especially reading. 我想提高我的英语(水平),尤其是阅读。【拓展】improvement 名词 改进;提高(4)how to improve their English是“疑问词 + 动词不定式(短语)”结构,在句中作about 的宾语。疑问词how,what,who 等后常接动词不定式(短语),在句中作know,teach,understand,decide 等动词的宾语。Do you know how to use the camera?你知道怎样使用这个摄像机吗?We can’t decide what to do next.我们不能决定接下来要做什么。2. Watching films and listening to songs are great ways to learn English!看电影和听歌曲是很好的学英语的办法!watching films and listening to songs 是两个并列的动名词短语作主语,此时的谓语动词用复数;当单个的动名词(短语)作主语时,谓语动词要用第三人称单数形式。Running is good for our health.跑步对我们的健康有好处。3. Watch and listen several times, and guess the meaning of the new words.多看多听几次,猜测新单词的意思。several times 几次“次数”的表达方式:once一次twice两次three times三次He has read the text once.他已经读过一遍这篇课文。I have been to Beijing twice.我去过北京两次。—How many times have you been to Hainan?你去过海南多少次?—Three times.三次。4. Remember this: Do not be shy. Just try. 记住:不要害羞,去试一试。remember记住,想起,记着remember to do sth.记着要做某事remember doing sth.记得做过某事Remember to close the door,please. 请记得要锁门。I remembered closing the door. 我记得锁门了。5. I suggest you write four or five words a day on pieces of paper and place them in your room.我建议你每天在纸上写下四五个单词,把它们放在你的房间里。suggest动词 建议(1)suggest sth. (to sb.) (向某人)建议某事/某物What do you suggest? 你建议什么?She suggested an early start to me.她建议我早点儿开始。(2)suggest doing sth.建议做某事Tony suggested going out for a walk. 托尼建议去散步。(3)suggest + (that) 从句 建议……I suggested that you stay here. 我建议你待在这儿。Step 5 Pair work 1.
