设计说明 本单元是复习单元,主要复习寻求和给出建议的办法。因内容较多,应把教学环节安排的紧凑合理,能优化的就尽量优化。让学生朗读教材上的Language practice中的句子,和学生一起总结给出建议的方法。 教学目标 通过本单元的教学,让学生达成以下目标: 1.知识目标 (1)复习巩固本模块所学的生词和短语。 (2)复习巩固寻求和给出建议的方法。 2.能力目标 (1)能运用给出建议的句型互相提问和回答。 (2)能运用给出的句型,就英语学习的某一方面给出相关的建议。 3.情感目标 在学习如何提出建议的过程中逐步把握语言的得体性,学会照顾对方的感受。 重点难点 重点:提建议的几种句型 难点:运用提建议的句型就具体问题给出建议 教学准备 PPT课件;活动1、2的录音 授课时数 1课时 教学过程 Step 1 Warming up 1. Revision:Give advice about how to learn English well 2. Ask the students to use sentences like these: Why don’t we…? How about …? We should… We can… Step 2 Presentation 1. Ask the students to read the sentences in Language practice. We should always speak English in class. Let’s try to speak English as much as possible. Why not write down our mistakes in our notebooks? It’s a good idea to spell and pronounce new words aloud. How about listening to the radio? 2. Help them sum up the grammar. Grammar 征求意见的表达方式: How can I … ? What should I do? Can you give me some advice? What do you think I should do? Why don’t you/we …? Why not…? What / How about …? Let’t try to… We / You should… It’s a good idea to… Don’t forget to … Step 3 Listening 1. Listen and check(√) the expressions of advice you hear. 1 Why don’t we…? □ 2 How about …? □ 3 We should… □ 4 We can … □ 5 Let’s try to … □ 6 Can you …? □ 7 Remember to … □ Answers: 1 √ 2 √ 3 √ 4 √ 5 √ 6 √ 2. Listen again and answer the questions. 1 What is difficult for Charlie? 2 How will Mary help him? 3 When does Charlie think they should meet? 4 What does Mary think about reading newspapers? Answers: 1 The English homework is difficult for him. 2 Mary will work with him. 3 After school. 4 Mary thinks reading newspapers is a good idea. Step 4 Practice 1. Work in pairs. Look at the pictures and say what Jack usually does. Do you think his habits are good? Why/Why not? 2. Give Jack some advice. He should go to bed before nine o’clock. Answers: He should go to bed before nine o’clock, and get up at half past six. What about writing words in groups? It’s a good idea to use dictionary. How about listening to the radio or watching English movies? Step 5 Reading 1. Read Helen’s question and complete Diana’s answer with the correct form of the word and expressions in the box. You need to use some of the expressions more than once. Answers: (1)Why don’t (2)How about (3)Try to (4)why not (5)How about (6)try to (7)should 2. Ask the students to read the short passage. Make sure they can understand the passage. 3. Work in pairs. Read the problems and give advice.(Activity 6) Answers: For Student A: How about using the dictionary to find the meaning of new words? Why don’t you ask your teacher to choose an English book for you? For Student B: Why not practise talking to your classmates? You can read new words aloud. 4. Complete the conversation with the words in the box.(Activity 7) Answers: (1) improve (2)advice (3) check (4) possible (5)forget 5. Ask the students to read Around the world. Make sure they can understand the passage. Step 6 Module task 1. Ask the students to write down what they’re not good at in English.
Possible answers: What I am not good at: listening,speaking,remembering difficult English words... What I should do: listen to English news on the radio; join an English club to practise speaking; write the words down in notebook and go over them as often as possible... 2. Make an English study plan for this year. Use the information in Activity 8 to help you.
3. Work in pairs. Discuss your study plan. —This is my English study plan. I will listen to English radio programmes every day. —That’s a good idea. You can also listen to some English songs. 4. Think about your partner’s advice and revise your English study plan. Step 7 Homework 1. Review the useful words and expressions. 2. Make an English study plan for this year.
