    How to Be Safe Alone
Being alone at home or outside the house, especially if it’s a new experience, can be scary, But don’t worry. With a few tips below, you’ll be prepared to face the situation all by yourself.
Tip 1 Keep a key on you at all times.
Keep the key with you all the time. Keep it in a safe place, such as your wallet or inner pocket. Make sure you don’t lose it. You don’t want to get locked out of the house on a day when your parents won’t be back until late. But don’t leave it outside your house(e. g. under the doormat or in the garden)—someone could find it easily and break into the house.
Tip 2 Have a list of phone numbers.
If you lose your cell phone or the battery(电池) dies, you don’t want to realize you can’t remember the number to call your dad at work. Put the phone list somewhere important, maybe where you keep your key. Besides your parents’ phone numbers, you should have at least three of others’.
Tip 3 Keep emergency(紧急)money with you.
Don’t keep too much money on you. Twenty dollars should be fine at home, but outside of the home alone, you may not want to carry more than five. It’s all about safety. Discuss with your parents how much money you should have with you.
Tip 4 Always have a backup plan.
Unfortunately, things do go wrong sometimes. In such a sudden situation, not being prepared can be scary, even dangerous. Discuss with your parents and neighbors about what you should do in emergency situations that may happen. Find the fastest way to get help.

    21. It’s better to keep the room key ________.
    A. outside the house B. in the pocket C. under the doormat D. in the garden
    22. How many phone numbers at least are you advised to keep for safety?
    A. Three. B. Four. C. Five. D. Six.
    23. Which of the actions may be safe at home but dangerous outside alone?
    A. Have a phone list with you. B. Forget to call your parents.
    C. Keep room keys with you. D. Carry 20 dollars with you.
    24. Why do you need a backup plan?
    A. Because it’s always too dangerous to stay outside.
    B. Because it can get you ready for a sudden change.
    C. Because the other plan will fail to work properly.
    D. Because it is the fastest way for you to get help.
    25. The passage is probably written for ________.
    A. parents B. neighbors C. teachers D. children

The survey found that eight of 10 senior middle school students were nearsighted, compared with 71.6 percent in junior middle school, 36 percent in primary school and 14 percent of 6-year-olds in kindergarten.
(B)According to experts, one of the best ways to make thankfulness a part of your life is to keep a diary. For example, before you go to bed every night, write down any positive experience you have during the day, no matter how small. Your mental health will gradually improve.

A new study found that people who said they would volunteer were less sensitive(敏感的) to an electric shock than those who refused.
(E)Researchers found a clear link between breakfast habits and heart disease risk. Those who didn't eat in the morning were up to 87 percent more likely to cause heart trouble. During the novel coronavirus outbreak, hospitals all over China have used smart technology to care for patients and make work easier for doctors. The outbreak will help smart healthcare develop faster in China, according to Xinhua.
    Robots lend a hand
Robots are being used to fight the virus. For example, medical workers at the Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen are using robots to do routine (常规的) medical tasks.
Developed by Chinese AI company UB Tech, these robots can offer medical advice, deliver (递送)medicine and disinfect (消毒) wards (病房) and other areas. They can also check temperatures, according to China Daily.

China’s three biggest telecom companies are providing hospitals across the country with 5G support. This allows them to transfer(传送) large amounts of data (数据) quickly.
For example, on Feb 27, doctors in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou used 5G technology to treat a severely (严重地) ill 67-year-old patient in Wuhan, according to China Daily. By diagnosing (诊断) patients remotely, doctors can protect both themselves and their patients.
