Characters: Peter; Wendy Slightly, Nibs, the twins |
When everyone was ready, Peter knocked on the door gently.
The door opened slowly, and a lady came out. It was Wendy. The boys all took off their hats “Where am I?” Wendy asked.
Of course, Slightly was the first to get a word in.
“Wendy lady,’’ he said quickly, “we built this house for you.’’
“Oh, please say you like it!” cried Nibs.
“What a lovely, lovely house,” Wendy said. The boys were delighted. “We are your children.” said the twins.
They all lowered their knees and held out their arms.
“Oh, Wendy lady, please be our mother!” they cried in union.
“I would love to,” said Wendy, “but you see I am only a little girl. I have no experience of being a mother.”
“_______” said Peter. “We just need a nice motherly person.”
“Oh, really?” Wendy said. “I think that is exactly what I am.’’
“It is. It is!” they all cried.
“Very well,” she said, “I will do my best. Come inside now you naughty children. I think there’s just enough time for me to finish the story of Cinderella before I put you to bed.”
They went in, and that was the first of the many joyful evenings they had with Wendy. By and by she made them comfortable in the big bed in their home under the trees. But she herself slept that night in the little house. Peter kept watching outside with a sword剑, because the pirates海盗 could be heard drinking far away, and the wolves were going about for food. The little house looked very warm and safe in the darkness. After some time, Peter fell asleep, and all was still and quiet in the Neverland.

If you had billions of dollars, would you donate almost all of it to charity? Well that’s what Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and founder (创始人) of Facebook, just said he would do. Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan promised to give 99 percent of their Facebook shares (股份) to society throughout their lifetime. Right now that is about $45 billion (289 billion yuan), and they plan to donate the money to things like science and education.
Many billionaires have done similar things. Bill Gates, creator of Microsoft, made The Giving Pledge(捐赠誓言), which is where billionaires promise to gradually give away more than half of their wealth to charities. This started in 2010, and now 139 people from 15 countries signed up for it.
But giving back and helping others isn’t just for big billionaires. People like Zuckerberg and Gates may have more to give, but people with less are doing it too.
Especially around the holidays, people want to do their part and give back to people who are less lucky than them. Schools may have food collections where people bring a few food items, and together they can make a big donation to places like homeless shelters.
People also host special events like concerts or runs to be creative while raising money. Regular (普通的) people donate whatever they can to US charities like the United Way and the American Red Cross.
Then these charities are able to help US communities in different ways like education, health and improving the lives of the poor. These individual (单独的) donations come together to make a big difference.

Some people have found that they always spend much more on travelling than planned. Here is how it happens:
1. Preparing too much before travelling
Some people, especially females, like to travel as if starting a new life. Several weeks before the trip, they would be busy shopping for new dresses, better sunglasses and best-selling books. They would rather fill their travelling bags up with all fashionable things. Just travelling? Attending a fashion show more like it. They care more about their appearance than the sights they see during the trip.
2. Following other travellers blindly
They can't stop shopping for objects they would never normally buy and would certainly never use. For example, we can find a group of travellers "getting ahead" to buy "Christmas" presents even in summer.
3. Replacing things that are forgotten to bring
They don't remember to bring things like trainers, cool bags, toothbrushes or beach towels. The towels sold near beaches are nearly the price of gold leaves. They spend a lot on those things. However, plenty of new towels are sleeping in their bathroom at home.

Supporters praise the two students for being brave enough to chase(追逐) their goals.
1. We shouldn't blame(责怪) those who are willing to take a risk and take the CEE again. It's OK for everyone to choose their favourite major for a better career in the future.
2. The two students prove that life is full of changes and possibilities. They set up an example of the power of courage in changing lives.
However those who are against their actions criticize them for being capricious(任性的).

One possible version:
My dear friends,
Each of us has the duty to obey public rules. Let’s say no to the bad behaviour. Now. we can still see some people spit here and there. Sometimes, naughty children play with public facilities. Besides, a few people say bad words at each other.
I think each of us should develop good behaviour. In the school library, we should keep quiet. We should also return the books in time. In the canteen, we should wait in line. We’d better not waste any food. In the classroom, we mustn't write or draw on our desks. You know, it's dangerous to run after each other or fight with others.
We need to obey public rules outside the school as well. When we cross a road, please wait for the green light. While we are enjoying ourselves in the park, remember not lo pick flowers or leave our waste things there.
Finally, I’d like to say, the more efforts we make, the better public places we will have.
