Chinese paper cutting, r Jianzhi, is a kind f flk art which uses scissrs r knives t cut paper fr decratin r ther flk activities. Having a wide mass base in China, paper cutting has been invlved in the scial life fr different peples and has presented multiple scial values in cgnitin, amusement and cmmunicatin etc.

Chinese embridery is ne f Chinese excellent flk traditinal needle craftwrks. Embridery is clsely cnnected with China’s sericulture (养蚕) and filature (纺丝). Hence embridery is als called silk needlewrk (sixiu). As the using f silk, silk articles appeared and develped, and the embridery gradually sprung up.
Chinese Seal Cutting is the cmbinatin f calligraphy (mainly Seal Character) and engraving (including chisel and cast). It is an art t make seal and it is a unique art frm f Chinese characters. S far, seal cutting has gne thrugh 3700 years f lng histry and mre than ten dynasties.
Calligraphy is a visual art related t writing. It is the design and executin f lettering with a brad tip instrument, dip pen, r brush, amng ther writing instruments. It implies a sure knwledge f the crrect frm f letters and the skill t make them harmniusly. It requires the experienced, knwledgeable eye t recgnize them.
Traditinal Chinese painting is similar t calligraphy - which itself is cnsidered t be the highest frm f painting - and is executed (作成，完成) with a brush dipped in black ink r clred ink. The mst ppular type f media is paper r silk, but sme paintings are dne n walls r lacquer (漆) wrk.
Prcelain, als called ‘fine china’, featuring its delicate texture, pleasing clr, and refined sculpture, has been ne f the earliest artwrks, in the frm f all kinds f items, such as bwls, cups, tea sets, vases, jewel cases etc.

Yesterday, I went t an amazing Chinese art festival. There were different stands where artists culd demnstrate their skills and teach the visitrs! It was definitely an exciting experience fr a freign student like me.

Cntemprary art
Since it began in the late 20th century, the Cntemprary Art Mvement has raised questins and dubts, with peple asking, “Is it really art?” This was the case in 1999 with British artist Tracey Emin’s wrk, My bed- which was, quite literally, her unmade bed.
Then, in 2015, cleaners in an Italian gallery threw away an art piece after mistaking the pile f empty bttles, cigarette ends and pieces f clured paper fr rubbish! While sme say cntemprary art lacks skill, meaning and artistic value, thers argue that its wrth lies in its ability t stimulate new discussins and understanding f everyday bjects.
