T: What are Zoom and Zip talking about? Let’s have a look! 2. Learn the letter combination“ow”(第一种发音/aʊ/) (1)分别教授单词wow/flower/down/cow。 a. Teach the word“wow”. Show the picture of a surfer boy on the PPT. T: Look, what’s the boy doing? Ss: Surfing in the sea.(Students can answer in Chinese.) T: Yes. What does Zip say? Ss: Wow! It’s cool.(Mark the letter combination “ow” in red) Stress the word “wow”. Lead students to read it. b. Teach the word“flower”. T: What does Zoom see? Ss: Flowers. T: Are they beautiful? Ss: Yes... T: You can say“Wow! How beautiful!”.(Mark the letter combination “ow” in red) Stress the word “flower”. Lead students to read it. c. Teach the word“down”. Show the picture of the wind on the PPT. T: Here comes the wind.What can you see? Ss: The flowers down and down and down.(Lead students to say the sentence.) Stress the word “down”. Lead students to read it. d.Teach the word“cow”. T: How does Zip feel?What would Zoom like to eat? Ss: Zip is thirsty. Ice cream. T: What would Zoom like to drink? It’s white. It’s from cows. Stress the word “cow”. Lead students to read it. Ss: ... (2)呈现单词wow/flower/down/cow,找出字母组合ow的发音规律。 a. Show the pictures and the words “wow”“flower”“down”and“cow” on the PPT. Lead students to observe them carefully and try to find out the same letter combination“ow”. Then write it down on the blackboard. b. Ask students to listen to the recording of the four words and try to conclude the right pronunciation of the letter combination“ow”. Encourage students to say their opinions. Then show the phonetic symbol /aʊ/ on the PPT. c. Let’s spell. Lead students to spell the three words. Then give some other example words to practice. 3. Learn the letter combination“ow”(第二种发音/əʊ/) (1)分别教授单词window/yellow/slow/snow。 a. Teach the words“window”and “yellow”. Show the picture of Zoom and Zip standing in front of the yellow window on the PPT. T: Look! What does Zoom and Zip see? What colour is the window? (Mark the letter combination “ow” in red) Ss:A yellow window. Stress the words“window”and “yellow”. Lead students to read it. b. Teach the word“slow”. T: What’s near the window? Ss:A snail. T: Is it slow or fast? Ss: It’s slow. Stress the word “slow”. Lead students to read it. c. Teach the word“snow”. T: What does Zoom and Zip see outside the window? Ss: Snow. (Mark the letter combination “ow” in read) Stress the word “snow”. Lead students to read it. (2)呈现单词window/yellow/slow/snow,找出字母组合ow的发音规律。(同上) Practice.(单词操练) 4. Let’s spell (1)呈现Let's spell部分单词和图片,总结字母组合ow两种发音。 T: What’s the same in these words? Ss: They all have “ow”. T: Yes! Do they make the same sound? Let’s listen. And then discuss with your partners. The teacher plays the recording of “Read, Listen and Chant”. Students listen to the recording and repeat. After they discuss, the teacher asks some students to answer the question. Ss: No! They make the sounds of /aʊ/ and /əʊ/. Give evaluations and write down the words with sounds on the blackboard. Emphasize “ow” with red colour. Ask students to read them after the recording. Then ask some students to stand up and read these words. Play the video of“Read, listen and chant”, let students read, listen and chant. (2)拼读单词并听音频跟唱歌谣。 Lead students to read these words like this: cow—/k/-/aʊ/ flower—/f/-/l/-/aʊ/-/ə / wow—/w/-/aʊ/ down—/d/-/aʊ/-/n/ slow—/s/-/l/-/əʊ/ snow—/s/-/n/-/əʊ/ yellow—/j/-/e/-/l/-/əʊ/ window—/w/-/ ɪ /-/n/-/d/-/əʊ/ The teacher plays the recording of the chant of “Let’s spell”. Students listen to the chant and repeat. After reading together, students practice it between boys and girls. They can have a competition. (3)听音频圈出单词。Show the exercise of “Listen, circle and say” on the PPT. Ask students to read all the words before listening. Then play the recording. Ask students to listen and circle the word in each group. Check the answers together. Present the listening materials and let students read them. (4)听音频写单词。Show the exercise of “Listen, write and say” on the PPT. Let students observe the pictures carefully and get to know the tasks of the listening. Then play the recording.
