With the help of a new mobile application called Farm Assistant, developed by Wu Zeyin, farmers in Botswana can make their work much easier.
Wu,an 11-year-old pupil from Hubei province, moved to Botswana with his family seven years ago.During the past years living in the country,he found that the quantity of fruit and vegetables sold at local supermarkets was very limited, and the quality was poor. Some vegetables weren't ripe, such as small carrots and green tomatoes, and they were quite expensive.
Tropical savanna(草原)and desert climates are typical in most parts of the country, making it difficult to grow common crops.Drought-tolerant species of corn, sorghum and beans are also uncommon,For a long time,Botswana had to import many grains, fruits and vegetables from neighbouring countries, such as South Africa,to meet the needs of its people.
Botswana has made a series of cooperative arrangements with China to get rid of food shortages. In July last year,a pilot project to grow China's water-saving and drought-tolerant rice was successfully undertaken in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, which brought Wu some new ideas on local agriculture.

The app supports eight crops commonly grown locally, including tomatoes, potatoes, onions, corn, carrots, cabbage, eggplant and radishes,Farmers who use the application can click on the pare to see its watering needs,Hpening time, seed price, selling price and production. After planting the seeds, farmers click the timer to start, and the application reminds them what to do at each stage.

According to official government figures, there are more than twice as many kangaroos as people in Australia, and many Australians consider them dangerous. It is reported that kangaroos are involved in more than 80 percent of the 20,000 vehicle-animal accidents each year.In the country's underpopulated region, the common belief is that kangaroo numbers have swollen to "pandemic percentage".
It is believed that killing kangaroos is critical to boosting the economy. Meat, skins, and leather from kangaroos have been sold to 56 countries. Global brands such as Nike, Puma, and Adidas buy strong,soft“k-leather" to make athletic products. And kangaroo meat is finding its way into more and more grocery stores.
Advocates point out that low-fat, high-protein kangaroo meat comes from an animal more environmentally friendly than greenhouse gas-releasing sheep and cattle. John Kelly, former executive director of the Kangaroo Industry Association of Australia, says,“Harvesting our food from animals adapted to Australia's environment is extremely wise and sustainable. Many ecologists will tell you that there is no more humane way of producing red meat."
Opponents(反对者)of the industry call the killing inhumane, unsustainable, and unnecessary. Dwayne Bannon-Harrison,a member of the Yuin people of New South Wales, says the idea that kangaroos are destroying the country is laughable.“They've been walking in this land a lot longer than people have,”he says.“How could something that's been here for thousands of years be 'destroying' the country? I don't understand the logic in that.”
Can Australians' disagreement on kangaroos be solved? George Wilson,a professor from Australian National University, says that if kangaroos were privately owned, then graziers(放牧人)would protect the animals, treating them as possessions. They could feed them, lease them, breed them and charge hunters a fee for access. “If you want to protect something,"Wilson says, “you have to give it a value. Animals that are considered dangerous don't have value."If kangaroos were more valuable than cattle or sheep, landholders would work with the kangaroo industry on branding, marketing and quality control. The government's role would be oversight and regulation.
32.What do we know from the article?
A.Kangaroos are to blame in many accidents.
B.Global brands make small profits on kangaroos.
C.Kangaroos are relatively friendly to the environment.
D. Overpopulated kangaroos have become a financial burden.
33.Why does Dwayne Bannon disagree to kill kangaroos?
A.It is laughable.
B.It is destroying the country.
C.They deserve to live on Earth.
D.They live in harmony with people.
34.Which of the following might be the benefit of privatization(私有化)?
A.The popularity of kangaroo hunting.
B.The reduction in the number of kangaroos.
C.The establishment of more conservation areas.
D.The better management of the kangaroo industry.
35.What is the purpose of this passage?
A.To argue against the killing of kangaroos.
B.To provide a solution to the problem caused by kangaroos.
C.To present different opinions on the kangaroo industry.
D.To stress the importance of protecting kangaroos.

37 If you're struggling or feeling down, always remember that you don't have to be alone. You don't need to be on your own, either. 38 If you don't feel able to talk to your parents or your sisters, you'll find support groups that can provide you with ideas or at least listen to you. You'll also find that social media sites can provide opportunities to connect and ask for help.

It was my first time to ski and I had been persuaded to come along with a group of friends who had booked a hotel for us all. Everyone else there had at least some experience of skiing in the past and all throughout the flight to Geneva they were talking funny stories about past trips to towns and villages I hadn't even heard of.
While I knew I was in for a really good time, a little part of me was wondering whether I had made a mistake by joining such experienced skiers for a week in the Alps(阿尔卑斯山),when I had never even had a single skiing lesson on proper snow, that is to say real snow.
We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and my training lessons didn't start until the following morning. There was no way that I was going to stay behind and watch everyone else go out to enjoy the slopes(斜坡)without me,so l grabbed my stuff and headed out with the rest of them. Harriet, a member of our group, took pity on me and offered to pair up, giving me some tips on how to get started.
I had been planning hitting the ski track for months and now I arrived and I was about to feel the rush. The excitement started to spread. But on this occasion, it really was my fist outing, and I was seriously nervous. I always loved snow, I loved throwing snowballs with my friends as a kid. but now I felt I was out of my comfort zone and, after I equipped myself, I was shaking all over nervously.
I tried to go forward. For all of about ten meters, I fell to the ground again and again. My instructor, Paul, was near and he was trying too hard not to laugh. I was feeling a little bit ashamed. Again to my feet, again to the ground.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
