一、副词的分类
1、从形态上看，分以下三种
（1）大多数副词是由形容词转换而来的（adj.+-ly---adv.) terrible—terribly , pssible—pssibly
（2）有些副词是由“地点名词+后缀-ward(s)”构成的，例如：backward(s)向后,nrthward(s)向北
（3）英语中还有少数与形容词同形的副词,例如：daily, early, fast, hard, high, lng, near, straight, well等
the high jump跳高项目（形容词）a fast car行得快的汽车（形容词）
t jump high跳得高（副词）t drive fast开快车（副词）
an early riser早起的人（形容词）a straight line直线（形容词）
t get up early起得早（副词）G straight a head.一直朝前走。（副词）
二、副词的基本用法
1、修饰动词，表示时间、地点、程度、方式、频度等。一般位于动词之后，如果动词有宾语，则要位于宾语之后。频度副词常位于助动词和连系动词be之后或实义动词之前。
(1)He arrived nly yesterday. (2)She plays the pian very well.
2、修饰形容词、副词、介词短语，一般前置，只有enugh例外，需要后置。
(1)She seems quite happy. (2)This girl is nt ld enugh t g t schl.
3、修饰句子，表示说话人的看法。(1)Hpefully we’ll win the game. (2)Hnestly, I dn’t knw.
4、作表语，多为与介词同形的副词和表示方位的副词。 (1)I am dwnstairs and my brther is upstairs.
5、作定语，主要为表示时间或地点的副词 (here, there, in, ut, up, dwn, belw, abve, upstairs, dwnstairs, indrs, utdrs, nw, then等)，这些副词作定语时应后置。The pictures abve were taken in Canada.
三、常见副词用法比较
1、hw lng, hw sn, hw ften, hw far的区别
Hw lng “多长时间”--回答用段时间； hw sn “还要多久”--In+段时间； hw ften “多久一次”频率副词；
Hw far “多远”--ten metres away;/ten minutes’ ride/ten minutes by bus;
2、hard: adv. “努力地,辛苦地,猛烈地” It's raining hard.
hardly “几乎不” I can hardly understand his wrds.
3、 much t+adj./adv; t much+un. ; V.+t much;
6、sme time一段时间, smetime某个时候, sme times几次，smetimes有时；
四、副词的比较等级（同形容词）；副词最高级前一般不加定冠词the。
