(2022春·重庆荣昌·高二重庆市荣昌永荣中学校校考期中)One fine day, a bus driver went to the bus garage, started his bus, and drove off along his route. No problems for the first few stops—a few people got on, a few got off, and things went generally well.
At the next stop, however, a big hulk of a guy got on. Six feet eight, built like a wrestler, arms hanging down to the ground. He glared at the driver and said, “Big John doesn’t pay!” and sat down at the back. The driver was five feet three, thin, and basically mild-mannered. Naturally, he didn’t argue with Big John, but he wasn’t happy about it.
The next day the same thing happened—Big John got on again, made a show of refusing to pay, and sat down. And the next day, and the one after that, and so forth.
This grated on the bus driver, who started losing sleep over the way Big John was taking advantage of him. Finally he could stand it no longer. He signed up for body building courses, karate, judo, and all that good stuff. By the end of the summer, he had become quite strong—what’s more, felt really good about himself.
So on the next Monday, when Big John once again got on the bus and said, “Big John doesn’t pay!” the driver stood up, glared back at the passenger, and screamed, “Oh, yeah? And why not?” With a surprised look on his face, Big John replied, “Big John has a bus pass.”
1.What did Big John do repeatedly?
A.He took advantage of the bus driver.
B.He didn’t pay for the bus ticket.

A.Pleased B.Interested C.Bored D.Annoyed
3.Why did Big John not pay for the bus ticket?
A.He had the ticket to ride the bus.
B.He was strong enough.
C.He forgot paying the ticket.
D.He wanted to take the bus for free.
4.What can be learned from the passage?
A.It is never too late to believe in yourself.
B.Nothing can prevent a person from achieving his goal.
C.Be sure there is a problem firstly before working hard to solve one.
D.It is better to set a goal firstly if you want to succeed.
(2021春·重庆荣昌·高二重庆市荣昌永荣中学校校考期中)Being an employee at a company has many challenges—you want job satisfaction, a work-life balance and opportunities for promotion (提升). But most of us want a decent financial reward. We aim to get a good salary to pay for the essential things in life. But when that’s not enough, we have to do the hardest thing in the world—ask our boss for a pay rise!
In some companies, a regular annual pay rise is normal. In other firms, workers might get a bonus (津贴) to reward them for their efforts or for meeting a target. But for some people, a pay increase is something you have to ask for—and if you don’t ask, you don’t get!
Wage increases have been a sensitive issue in recent years. Due to the global economic recession (萧条), businesses had to tighten (绷紧) their belts. Most public sector pay in the UK, for example, was frozen for two years in 2010, and after that rises were capped at 1%—below the rate of inflation (通货膨胀率). But last month the government awarded them a pay rise above the 2% inflation rate so that teachers, for example, will get a 2.75% salary boost.
But not everyone is happy at being given a fixed pay rise—they feel they’re worth more and that they deserve more money. It’s not something we should fear “asking for”, says Pip Jamieson, founder of the professional networking site, The Dots. She’s told the BBC “No one ever got fired for asking for a pay rise. In fact, rather the opposite—asking for more money shows ambition and shows you want to stay with the company.”
You need to do your research and find out what kind of pay your job should be getting, perhaps by talking to your Human Resources department. You’ll need to give good reasons for wanting more money and you’ll still have to keep your increase within your pay grade. Ask for an exact sum and be prepared for some negotiation. Of course, if you can’t get more cash then there are other benefits you could ask for, such as flexible working or more time off. But if that gets you nowhere and your boss won’t budge, maybe it’s time to quit and find a new job?
5.According to the article, who might get a bonus in a company?
A.The one doing the regular thing. B.The one achieving a goal.
C.The one deserving a better life. D.The one going to work occasionally.
6.What caused most public sector pay to be frozen in 2010?
A.The decline of global economy. B.The rate of inflation.
C.The fixed pay rise. D.The government policy.
7.What is the author’s suggestion for readers about asking for a pay rise?
A.Ask for money as much as possible. B.Hide your ambition (雄心).
C.Talk to your friends. D.Be ready for negotiation (协商).
8.What is the best title of the passage?
A.A Sensitive (敏感的) Issue B.A Pay Rise Please!
C.Good Reasons for Money D.Ask for Promotion
(2022春·广东湛江·高二湛江二十一中校考期中)The British are known for their sense of humour. However, it is often difficult for foreigners to understand their jokes. The reason is that the British often use understatement.
Understatement means saying less than you think or feel. For example, if someone gets very wet in a shower of rain, he might say, “It’ a little damp (潮湿的) outside.” Or, if someone is very impolite and shouts at another person, someone else might say, “She isn’t exactly friendly.” Understatement is often used in an unpleasant situation or to make another person look silly. Understatement plays an important part in British humour.
Another key to understanding British humour is that the British like to make fun of themselves as well as others. They often laugh about the silly and unpleasant things that happen to their everyday life when someone accidentally falls over in the street. They also like to make jokes about people from different classes of society. They like to make jokes about their accents, the way they dress and the way they behave. What’s more, the British love to watch comedies (喜剧) about people who do not know how to behave in society. The comedy series Mr. Bean is a good example of this kind of humour.
Mr Bean doesn’t talk often, and instead he uses his body movements and facial expressions to make people laugh. Perhaps what makes Mr Bean so funny is that he does things that adults in the real world cannot do. Mr. Bean is popular in many countries around the world because you do not have to speak English to understand the humour. Because of this, many people have become familiar with the British sense of humour.
9.Why is it difficult for foreigners to understand British jokes?
A.The British often enlarge the fact.
B.British jokes are connected with many different cultures.
C.British jokes are not as funny as jokes in other countries.
D.The British usually use understatement.
10.The author explains understatement by ________.
A.describing a process B.making comparisons
C.following the time order D.using examples
11.Mr Bean makes people laugh by ________.
A.using his body movements and facial expressions B.making jokes about others’ accent
C.copying how others behave D.telling funny stories
12.What can be the best title for the text?
A.British humour in comedy B.Humour in different cultures
C.Understanding British humour D.Developing your sense of humour
(2022春·广东·高二广东广雅中学校考期中)Quantum (量子) computers have been on my mind a lot lately. A friend has been sending me articles on how quantum computers might help solve some of the biggest challenges we face as humans. I’ve also had exchanges with two quantum-computing experts. One is computer scientist Chris Johnson who I see as someone who helps keep the field honest. The other is physicist Philip Taylor.
For decades, quantum computing has been little more than a laboratory curiosity. Now, big tech companies have invested in quantum computing, as have many smaller ones. According to Business Weekly, quantum machines could help us “cure cancer, and even take steps to turn climate change in the opposite direction.” This is the sort of hype ( 炒 作 ) that annoys Johnson. He worries that researchers are making promises they can’t keep. “What’s new,” Johnson wrote, “is that millions of dollars are now potentially available to quantum computing researchers.”
As quantum computing attracts more attention and funding, researchers may mislead investors, journalists, the public and, worst of all, themselves about their work’s potential. If researchers can’t keep their promises, excitement might give way to doubt, disappointment and anger, Johnson warns. Lots of other technologies have gone through stages of excitement. But something about quantum computing makes it especially prone to hype, Johnson suggests, perhaps because “quantum” stands for something cool you shouldn’t be able to understand. And that brings me back to Taylor, who suggested that I read his book Q for Quantum.
After I read the book, Taylor patiently answered my questions about it. He also answered my questions about PyQuantum, the firm he co-founded in 2016. Taylor shares Johnson’s concerns about hype, but he says those concerns do not apply to PyQuantum.
The company, he says, is closer than any other firm “by a very large margin ( 幅 度 )” to building a “useful” quantum computer, one that “solves an important problem that we would not have been able to solve otherwise.” He adds, “People will naturally discount my opinions, but I have spent a lot of time quantitatively comparing what we are doing with others.”
Could PyQuantum really be leading all the competition “by a wide margin”, as Taylor claims? I don’t know. I’m certainly not going to advise my friend or anyone else to invest in quantum computers. But I trust Taylor, just as I trust Johnson.
13.How does the author feels about Johnson’s concerns?
A.Approving. B.Unconcerned C.Doubtful D.Excited.
14.What leads to Taylor’s optimism about quantum computing?
A.His dominance in physics. B.The competition in the field.
C.His confidence in PyQuantum. D.The investment of tech companies.
15.What does the underlined word “prone” in Paragraph 3 most probably mean?
A.Open. B.Cool. C.Useful. D.Resistant.
16.Which would be the best title for the passage?
A.Is Quantum Computing A Solution to all Challenges?
B.Is Quantum Computing Redefining Technology?
C.Will Quantum Computers Ever Come into Being?
D.Will Quantum Computing Ever Live Up to Its Hype?
(2022春·广东广州·高二校联考期中)Cats communicate a variety of messages using cats’ body language. Examples include arching ( 弓起) their backs as a signal of fear or attack, and slowly blinking (眨) their eyes to signal relaxation. The open mouth without showing teeth suggests a feeling of playfulness. A cat which chooses to lie on its back shows happiness, trust and comfort. Cats show dissatisfaction by moving their ears back, equal to a human’s frown.
As is the case with dogs, a twitching (抽动) tail can mean a little anger while a tail held high suggests confidence. Cats will twitch their tails when hunting or angry, while a larger twitch suggests displeasure. They may also twitch their tails when playing. A tail held high is a sign of happiness, or can be used as a greeting towards humans or other cats (usually close relatives) while a half-raised tail shows less pleasure, and unhappiness is expressed with a tail held low.
Some signals, however, are often misunderstood. It is important to keep in mind that each cat may show its feelings with different body language. For instance, a cat rubbing its body along an arm or a leg of its owner is not only a way to attract attention and, perhaps, a way to ask for food; it is also a way of “marking” its owner as its own. Usually a cat with its tail held high and twitching shows excitement, but this is often mistaken for anger.
Many people fail or are too slow to understand the silent body language of cats. And they may have the false impression that cats are cold-hearted, unfaithful or not clever. To understand cats, people must observe a cat closely and learn what its body signals tell them.
17.Which cats’ body language shows that a cat is relaxed?
A.Holding its tail high. B.Moving its ears back.
C.Lying on its stomach. D.Blinking its eyes slowly.
18.According to the passage, which is wrong?
A.A cat will twitch its tail when it feels sleepy.
B.A cat will twitch its tail when it is hunting.
C.A cat will twitch its tail when it feels angry.
D.A cat will twitch its tail when it is playing.
19.How many meanings does a cat’s rubbing its body along its owner have?
A.2. B.3. C.4. D.5.
20.What does the last paragraph intend to tell us?
A.Every cat has its own special body language.
B.It is not easy to understand cats’ body language.
C.Many people often have wrong opinions on cats.
D.We should learn more about cats’ body language.
(2022春·广东江门·高二新会陈经纶中学校考期中)What would life be like without commas (逗号)? It would be quite confusing. Take this simple sentence as an example: Let’s eat Dad! Without a comma, Dad becomes the food. Add comma, and Dad becomes a partner at dinner: Let’s eat, Dad! The comma enables people to have a better understanding of the sentence.
Here’s another example: Tom said Sarah stole the cake. Here, Sarah is the thief. But add a pair of commas, and Tom becomes the thief: Tom, said Sarah, stole the cake.
The examples above clearly show that people cannot do without commas in writing. Yet, the comma came from oral speeches. Long ago, most people could not read. They listened to the news or stories told by the people who gave speeches. The comma began as something to mark the resting place in a sentence. When reading, the speakers knew where to stop and take a breath.
In writing, commas are like shining red lights on the road. They require that you wait a moment before continuing. And don’t add a comma when you feel like it. There are rules that people shall not break. Learn them, and you won’t be eating anyone or making wrong charges.
21.Without commas, life would be________.
A.frightening B.puzzling C.relaxing D.interesting
22.The author uses two examples in the passage to________.
A.tell jokes to readers B.tell stories to readers
C.show the importance of using commas D.show the difficulty of using commas
23.What is the best title for the passage?
A.Commas Make Sentences Clear. B.Commas Make English Interesting.
C.Commas Make Writing Easy. D.Commas Make Speeches Surprising.
(2022春·广东江门·高二新会陈经纶中学校考期中)Jenifer Mauer has needed more willpower than the typical college student to pursue her goal of earning a nursing degree. That willpower bore fruit when Jennifer graduated from University of Wisconsin and became the first in her large family to earn a bachelor’s (硕士) degree.
Mauer grew up on a farm in a family of 10 children. Her dad worked at a job away from the farm, and her mother ran the farm with the kids. After high school, Jennifer attended a local technical college, working to pay her tuition (学费), because there was no extra money set aside for a college education. After graduation, she worked to help her sisters and brothers pay for their schooling.
Jennifer now is married and has three children of her own. She decided to go back to college to advance her career and to be able to better support her family while doing something she loves: nursing. She chose the UW-Eau Claire program at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital because she was able to pursue her four-year degree close to home. She could drive to class and be home in the evening to help with her kids. Jennifer received great support from her family as she worked to earn her degree: Her husband worked two jobs to cover the bills, and her 68-year-old mother helped take care of the children at times.
Through it all, she remained in good academic standing and graduated with honors. Jennifer sacrificed (牺牲) to achieve her goal, giving up many nights with her kids and missing important events to study. “Some nights, my heart was breaking to have to pick between my kids and studying for exams or papers,” she says. (2022春·湖北孝感·高二应城市第一高级中学校考期中)Peppered moth caterpillars (桦尺蠖毛虫)live north of the equator. But if you’ve never seen one, don’t feel bad: They’re experts at blending in (融为一体). Each caterpillar looks like the branch it stays on, straightening its body into a stick-like shape. It also changes its color to match the branch’s color, whether white, green or brown.
According to a paper published in Communications Biology, the caterpillars sense the color of their surroundings not only with their eyes but also with their skin.
Ilik Saccheri, an author of the paper, normally studies the adult moth. This requires keeping a lot of caterpillars around. Years of observation awakened his curiosity about their color-changing abilities. Each caterpillar hatches tiny and black, and in its early days is blown around by the wind. Once it falls on a plant, it must disguise itself to avoid being spotted by birds.
“I was a bit disbelieving that they could change that only using their eyes,” Dr. Saccheri said.
Amy Eacock, a graduate student in Dr. Saccheri’s lab decided to investigate. First, she tested the caterpillars’ eyes for light-sensitive proteins called opsins (视蛋白). “We did the skin as kind of a negative control,” said Dr. Eacock. “But then we found they were expressed in the skin as highly as they were in the head.”
That’s when she suggested blindfolding the caterpillars. The researchers could cover their eyes, place them on different-colored dowels (木钉) , and see if they still changed to match.
“I thought it was kind of a crazy idea,” Dr. Saccheri said. The blindfolding itself was a difficult task, involving black paint, a tiny paintbrush, a microscope and lots of patience, Dr. Eacock said. Caterpillars molt (蜕皮) several times over their lives, which required that they be blindfolded again frequently.
But Dr. Eacock persisted, eventually testing more than 300 caterpillars. Over and over again, the blindfolded caterpillars successfully changed color to blend in.
Many questions remain, but the behavior alone impressed the researchers. Dr. Eacock said, “I remember turning to Ilik one day and saying, ‘You know what? The caterpillars are cooler than the moths.’” “Yes. They’re pretty amazing,” Dr. Saccheri agreed.
28.What can we learn about peppered moth caterpillars?

B.There are opsins in caterpillars’ skin.
C.Caterpillars molt several times in their life.
D.There is something strange in caterpillars’ eyes.
30.What did Dr. Saccheri think of Dr. Eacock’s study?
A.It was hard to operate.
B.It was well designed.
C.It was inspiring but the evidence was unreliable.
D.It was a failure but the methods deserved praise.
31.What is the author’s main purpose in writing this text?
A.To solve a mystery. B.To introduce a new species.
C.To present a scientific study. D.To awaken readers’ curiosity.
(2022春·湖北孝感·高二应城市第一高级中学校考期中)It was February 20, 2008. Down the escalator (自动扶梯) at the airport in Atlanta, I looked back to ensure my wheeled suitcase was secure on its own moving step. Only then did I notice the man traveling behind it, who wore a square-patterned cotton shirt. The design was strikingly beautiful. “Did you purchase your shirt in Africa?” I asked. “Yes,” he replied. “I am from Ethiopia.”
We both got off the escalator and waited to board the train to the hall for our respective flights. I have traveled to Africa but never to Ethiopia. Yet, the name of the country jogged my memory. I thought of two phrases from my general fund of information: Addis Ababa and Haile Selassie. By this time, we had boarded the train and continued our conversation.
“Isn’t Addis Ababa the capital of your country?” I inquired. “That’s right. If you like to travel, now would be a good time to visit. We are celebrating our bicentennial (二百周年),” he added with pride. I remembered the bicentennial in the United States in 1976, so I could relate to his feelings. “We are also celebrating the beginning of the second millennium (千禧年),” he added. This statement perplexed me. I remembered the festivities in 2000. Hadn’t those been for the millennium?
“Is Ethiopia in the northwest of Africa?” I asked hesitantly. “No, in the middle of Africa near the east coast.” he explained gently. I would have liked to have learned more about his country. However, we had to part. He was taking a flight west; I was flying east. It was a brief encounter: a few facts and new information. It has inspired me to brush up my knowledge of different countries on earth. Once I learn where each African country is again, I plan to continue with the map of central Asia and get my “stans” straight: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

(2022春·湖南怀化·高二统考期中)Born in Shiqian county in Guizhou province, 34-year-old Sun Xiaojun used to be the naughtiest student in class. This changed after he broke an ankle and was diagnosed with osteomyelitis (骨髓炎) at the age of 9. His right leg later had to be amputated. His family spent all of their money for the operation. The young man then made the decision to study hard.
In 2006, Sun was admitted to the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, Hubei province, majoring in material forming and control engineering. In 2009, he won the opportunity to continue his studies at Japan’s Tohoku University. “I started to wear a prosthesis (假肢) two years after I began studying in Japan. I had never worn one before, so it took quite a long time to get used to it.” he said.
The experience wasn’t very comfortable. He would sometimes fall over when he tried to walk fast, which made him feel awkward. In 2013, he came up with the idea of creating a smarter prosthetic that used robotics. In 2018, he founded BionicM in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, to create inventions to help those with a disability. Sun won the Red Dot Best of the Best award in 2020 because of his robotic prosthetic knee.
“I myself use a prosthetic limb, and I’m also a researcher. There are about 4 million people in China with amputated lower limbs,” he added. “The cost of an ordinary prosthesis is around 60,000 to 100,000 yuan, unaffordable for most.” Sun said most prosthetics are produced in Europe. “I didn’t start my company for the money, but to make a product that is useful to society. Amputees have a basic need to walk,” he said. According to Sun, the robotic knee his company produces is priced at around 300,000 yuan per pair, while similar products sold elsewhere average around 800,000 yuan. Admitting that this is not ideal, he said that his robotic knees are still in small-scale production. He hopes that by raising more money, he’ll be able to expand production and make his devices more affordable.

Even in the dark, Porat could see the animal moving slowly; it was clearly alive. So he stopped and got out of his car.
Porat was a self-employed marketer, and he also runs a popular and humorous Instagram account called Gomi the Frenchie, which tracks (追踪) the funny behaviors of his three-year-old sandy-colored French bulldog Gomi who has more than 87,000 followers.
He took the eight-pound animal home, and by 2 am he had posted a photo and video of the animal snuggling (依偎) up to Gomi. By the time the sun rose, thousands of people had seen the video. Gomi’s followers were about to come to the rescue of what turned out to be a partly blind and deaf Chihuahua. Later, some of them recognized the Chihuahua as a 14-year-old named Osita who belonged to Gustavo Briand, a salon owner in Miami Beach. Within a day, Osita and Briand were reunited.
The Chihuahua’s tale is part of a story that has become more common all over the country: An animal is lost. A message or picture is broadcast on social media. Hundreds of concerned “friends” repost the message or picture. The owner finds his or her lost animal, and they live happily ever after.
One New Jersey woman was reunited with her cat, Jimmy, two years after losing him, when she spotted him on a shelter’s Facebook page. A dog who ran away suddenly from his owner’s jeep at a music festival in Arizona was back with his owner after a blast on Facebook and Twitter.
“Social media is changing the results of pet tracking,” says Adriana Bradley, a founder of the Lost and Found Pets in North Jersey Project, a Facebook group. “Just sharing one post on social media can help, and so many people tell me that this is the only good reason for Facebook.”

You probably also know that in these films most ambulances (救护车) are on wheels and go across city streets where there are fewer traffic jams than in real life.
But now, Israel’s Urban Aeronautics, announced that it made an agreement to work with Hatzolah Air to produce and develop its CityHawk aircraft as an emergency medical service. The CityHawk is small and can fly anywhere and land anywhere, making it able to work in cities above the traffic jam. It has no wings outside and can work even in bad weather conditions.
“We are excited to work with Hatzolah Air on the development of our CityHawk vehicle,” said Rafi Yoeli, CEO of Urban Aeronautics. “Its small size will enable it to land in the middle of a busy city street, making it a perfect fit for medical tasks by greatly reducing the time it takes to arrive on-scene, treat and transport sick or injured patients to medical facilities.”

When Nancy Roman asked for permission to take a second algebra (代数) course in high school, a teacher demanded to know “what lady would take mathematics instead of Latin”. In college, a professor admitted that he often tried to prevent women from majoring in physics but Nancy stuck to it. And after receiving Doctor’s degree in astronomy, she found a professional home at NASA (美国宇航局). (2021春·广东江门·高二江门市棠下中学校考期中)The Tokyo Summer Olympics is going green. The 5,000 medals Japan has made are more special than most.
One novel focus of the Tokyo Olympics is to be “sustainable”— to avoid using too many natural resources, so that the games are easy on the environment. As part of this goal, the organizers decided to make all of the Olympic medals out of metal recycled from old electronics.
Almost all electronics are made with small amounts of “precious metals”, like gold and silver. But collecting enough of these metals to make 5,000 medals was a huge challenge. That’s because the amount of metal in each device is tiny. It would take about 20,000 cell phones to get just 1 kilogram of gold.
Beginning in April 2017, the organizers placed collection boxes around the country, and asked people to turn in their old electronic devices. Soon people began to respond to the initiative, turning in smartphones, digital cameras, hand-held games, and laptops. At first, collection went slowly, but soon more and more areas began to take part. By the end, 1,621 local governments had helped out with the collection process.
Then came the job of breaking those devices down into smaller pieces. After being taken apart and sorted, the small electronics were smelted (熔炼) to get all the gold, silver, and bronze elements. This is a tricky job, which calls for careful attention and good skill. It’s also dangerous, because some of the metals and other things aren’t safe for people to touch or breathe.
By the end of March, 2019, the organizers had hit their targets of getting enough metal for the medals. They had collected around 32 kilograms of gold, 4,100 kilograms of silver and 2,200 kilograms of bronze. And now all the 5,000 medals are available for the would-be winners.
57.Compared with other Olympic games, which word best describes the Tokyo Olympics medals?
A.valuable. B.quality. C.unique. D.green.

A.The difficulty of making the medals.
B.The process of collecting old electronics.
C.The purpose to recycle used smartphones.
D.The classification of the collected devices.
59.The underlined word “tricky” in Paragraph 5 means “________”.
A.creative B.well-paid
C.demanding D.unique
60.What’s the purpose of Tokyo’s way of making the medals?
A.To advocate (提倡) sustainable use of resources.
B.To promote the spirit of Olympic Games.
C.To introduce a new technique to make medals.
D.To call people’s attention to environmental damage.
(2022春·湖南怀化·高二统考期中)With the improvement of privacy protection awareness, everyone has questions about the telephone address, ID card information and so on. This visible privacy has been particularly concerned, but for chat photos and original pictures, it has not attracted enough attention. The topic “How much privacy can a photo reveal” has been trending on Sina Weibo, sparking concern and heated discussion about privacy awareness. In group chats, some people may post their original photos. But that may give away your home address and other information.
Images often contain a lot of information and various traces left by digital cameras or photo manipulation (处理) software. This data, called Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF), is a key tool for many professionals. It can detail whether the photographer used a flash, which digital effects were applied to a picture and when the photo was taken. EXIF can also contain the precise GPS coordinates (坐标) of the location where a photo was taken, according to CNN. If you take a landscape picture from your window and send the original picture to a group chat, it means that you are releasing your location data to all strangers in the group. They may even accurately infer your house number by analyzing the shooting time and angle.
Not just in a group chat, sending an image in a text message, email, or other delivery tools will also include the accompanying information. So how do we protect our privacy when sending photos? The most effective way is to avoid sending original photos in group chats. If it’s necessary, try not to tap the “original picture”. However, photos sent by WeChat Moments are automatically pressed by the system, and they travel without location and other information. To solve the problem at its root, we can delete and remove a picture’s EXIF data on a computer. If you are using an iOS smartphone, you can turn off location services for the camera in the privacy settings. If you’re using an Android, the settings vary. Typically, you can go to the setting menu and switch the services off for the camera, according to CTV News. There is one more thing you can do—photoshop your photos before you share it. What comes with your edited images is photos without stored location data.
61.What is the function of the first paragraph?
A.To explain the meaning of privacy protection.
B.To lead to the topic of privacy protection.
C.To describe people’s concern about privacy.
D.To tell the readers the importance of privacy.
62.Why is EXIF so important?
A.It can be used as a flash for the photographer.
B.It may apply digital effects to a picture.
C.It includes the home address of the viewers.
D.It provides a photo’s shooting time and place.
63.How can we protect privacy when sharing photos?
A.By switching off location services for Wechat.
B.By sending out their EXIF data on our phone.
C.By editing the photos with photo editing apps.
D.By turning off Internet connection when taking photos.
64.What is probably the best title?
A.Securing Social Media B.The Importance of Protecting Photos
C.The Privacy a Photo Reveals D.Getting Information from Photos
