2022·湖南衡阳·高一统考期中)Athletes in the Olympic Villages—in the Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou zones—have been sharing their moments with the panda in photos and videos, while Bing Dwen Dwen fans have patiently waited to buy products from licensed stores and through official online channels.

The enthusiasm for the mascot (吉祥物) products has led to a shortage of products, with many netizens complaining that it’s too difficult to get a Bing Dwen Dwen doll.

Zhang Zhicheng, a spokesman for the National Intellectual Property Administration, said the difficulty buyers face in getting the mascot products shows the country’s stronger and more comprehensive protection of Olympic symbols. “As the mascot has Olympic symbol protection, it also receives patent (专利), trademark and copyright protection,” Zhang said at a news conference organized by the 2022 Beijing Media Center on Monday.

Comprehensive IPR protection (全方位的知识产权保护) guarantees the rights and interests of IPR owners, and also promotes the spread of Olympic culture, he said. “Comprehensive IPR protection is our way of keeping Olympic rules. It’s also symbolic of our respect for every athlete, and encouragement for technological innovators at this sports event,” he said

Sun Lei, an IPR lawyer at Yuanhe Partners in Beijing, said that difficulty in buying a Bing Dwen Dwen doll reflects enhanced awareness of the importance of protecting Olympic symbols, adding that thanks should go to the country’s early warnings on the issue and other measures.

After Bing Dwen Dwen was unveiled in 2019, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympics issued a notice on the protection of the mascot. It warned that no individual or department could use the image or name of the mascot for private reasons. It added that using the image in anything other than the official designs was also banned.

4According to Zhang Zhicheng, it’s too difficult to get a Bing Dwen Dwen doll because of________.

Aa shortage of workers Bthe enthusiasm for the Olympic Games

Ca lack of online channels DChina's protection of Olympic symbols

5What's the main idea of paragraph 4?

Athe aims of Comprehensive IPR protection Bthe ways to protect Olympic mascots

Cthe rights and interests of IPR owners Dthe reasons for protecting Olympic symbols

6According to the last paragraph, people were warned________.

Ato create more official designs Bto improve the quality of the mascot

Cnot to use the image for private reasons Dnot to buy too many mascots

2023·江苏南京·高一校联考期中)What if computers could replace patients? If virtual (虚拟的) humans could have replaced real people in some stages of a drug trial, it could have sped up development of a preventive tool and slowed down the spread of viruses. Similarly, potential drugs that weren’t likely to work could have been identified early, cutting trial costs and avoiding testing poor drug candidates on living volunteers. These are some of the benefits of “in silico medicine”, which is also known as “computational medicine”.

Powerful computers get to work based on the data according to some rules, producing a virtual organ (器官) that looks and behaves like the real thing. With virtual organs, the modeling begins by feeding data into a complex mathematical model of the mechanisms.

In silico clinical trials are already underway to an extent. For the foreseeable future, real patients will be needed in late-stage studies, but in silico trials will make it possible to conduct quick and inexpensive first assessments of safety and efficiency, hugely reducing the number of live human subjects required for experimentation.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for instance, is using computer simulations (模拟) in place of human trials for evaluating new technology systems. The agency has also published guidance for designing trials of drugs and devices that include virtual patients.

Beyond speeding results and reducing the risks of clinical trials, in silico medicine can be used in place of risky interventions (干预) that are required for analyzing or planning treatment of certain medical conditions. For example, HeartFlow Analysis, a cloud-based service approved by the FDA, enables doctors to identify heart disease based on CT images of a patient’s heart. The HeartFlow system has used these images to construct a dynamic model of the blood running through the heart, thus identifying abnormal conditions and their severity. Without this technology, doctors would need to cut into the body to perform an angiogram (血管造影) to decide whether and how to intervene. Experimenting on digital models of individual patients can also help personalize treatment for any number of conditions.

8What is the key factor of “in silico medicine”?

    ATrial costs. BVirtual organs.

    CPotential drugs. DLiving volunteers.

9What can we know about “in silico medicine”?

AIt is mainly used to try drugs. BIt is lacking in practical value.

CIt frees patients from clinical trials. DIt provides safety and reduces costs.

10What can be inferred about HeartFlow Analysis?

AIt is being applied to FDA for use. BIt has given doctors practical help.

CIt models CT images of living patients. DIt functions on the basis of angiograms.

11What is the main idea of the text?

AVirtual medical science is developing rapidly.

BClinical trials of new drugs have been sped up.

CVirtual patients make clinical trials fast and reliable.

DComputers will replace human doctors in the future.

    2023·福建泉州·高一校联考期中)

In Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, you can find Jamey Turner playing an unusual musical instrument, the glass harp(竖琴). A glass harp is made up of different sized drinking glasses, each filled with water.

Turner makes music by running his fingers over the tops of the glasses. By doing so, each glass makes a different musical sound. Visitors to Alexandria like what they see and hear. They thank Turner by leaving a dollar or more in his box for donations. Jamey Turner is 78 years old. Turner became interested in playing the glass harp at the age of six, when he heard his father playing with a glass of water at the dinner table. He has been playing it for 50 years.

Today Turner puts together his instrument by placing 60 different glasses on a wooden soundboard. He holds the glasses in place with rubber bands, which keeps them from breaking. He then adds different amounts of water to each one to create different musical notes. Adding or taking away just a little water will change the sound. Adding water to a glass will make a lower sound. The smaller bowls of water produce a higher sound, while the larger ones produce a lower, deeper sound.

Turner always uses low-priced glass because it sounds better than costly crystal(水晶) and he has more control over the sound. Before buying new glasses, he will test them in stores. He decides if they produce the right sound by rubbing his finger over the top of them.

The glass harp was popular 300 years ago when composers like Wolfgang Mozart wrote music for the instrument. There have been about 400 pieces of music written just for the glass harp. But Turner plays all kinds of music, even popular music from China. Few people play the glass harp these days, but Turner says he sees videos of people experimenting with the instrument on YouTube. He hopes the next generation will continue making its music.

12What do visitors think of Jamey Turner's performance?

    ABoring. BAttractive. CSpecial. DCommon.

13How can Jamey Turner change the sounds of the glasses?

ABy beating the glasses in different parts. BBy placing the glasses on a wooden board.

CBy adding or reducing water in the glasses. DBy holding different glasses with rubber bands.

14What may be Jamey Turner's real worry about the glass harp?

ALittle music is written for the instrument.

BPeople are trying to play the instrument online.

CFew people are playing the instrument these days.

DThe instrument cannot produce some beautiful sounds.

15What is the best title for this text?

AMaking Music by Playing Glasses BSpecial Sounds from Glasses

CDevotion to Playing Glasses for Fun DFingers over the Tops of the Glasses

    第二节 读后续写(满分25)

    2023·江苏南京·高一校联考期中)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

A 12-year-old boy saw something in a shop window that set his heart racing. It was a jewel box. But the price—five dollars—was far beyond Reuben Earle’s means. However, he opened the door and went inside. Standing proud and straight, he told the shopkeeper what he wanted, adding, “But I don’t have the money right now. Can you please hold it for me for some time?”

    “I’ll try,” the shopkeeper smiled.

“I will raise the five dollars and not tell anybody,” Reuben said to himself.

Hearing the sound of hammering from a side street, Reuben had an idea. People built their own homes in Bay Roberts, using nails purchased in sacks (麻布袋) from a local factory. Sometimes the sacks were abandoned, and Reuben knew he could sell them back to the factory for five cents a piece.

That day he found two sacks and sold to the man in charge of packing nails.

The boy’s hand tightly held the five-cent pieces as he ran home. Near his house stood the ancient barn (谷仓). Reuben found a soda tin and dropped his coins inside. Then he climbed into the top of the barn and hid the tin.

All summer long, despite housework at home Reuben kept to his secret task. Often he was cold, tired and hungry, but the thought of the object in the shop window sustained him.

Mother’s Day had come! He uncovered the tin can, poured the coins out and began to count. He needed 20 cents more. He had to find four more sacks and sell them before the day ended.

Towards evening Reuben arrived at the factory. The sack buyer was about to lock up.

“Mister! Please don’t close up yet.”

The man turned and saw Reuben, dirty and sweat stained.

    “Come back tomorrow, boy.”

“Please, Mister. I have to sell the sacks now — please.”

    注意:

    1.所续写短文的词数应为150左右;

    2.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。

    Paragraph 1:

The man heard a slight shake in Reuben’s voice and could tell he was close to tears.

    Paragraph 2:
