A new study suggests the Apple Watch was able t identify abnrmal heart rates that culd be linked t a serius heart cnditin.
Mre than 400,000 Apple Watch users vlunteered fr the study. It was a prject f researchers at the Stanfrd University Schl f Medicine. Apple, the American telelgy cmpany, prvided mney fr the study. Results were recently presented at a majr cnference n heart health in New Orleans, Luisiana.
The researchers lked fr signs f atrial fibrillatin, als, called "a-fib", the mst cmmn frm f irregular heartbeat. Sme peple with a-fib feel changes in their heartbeat, while thers d nt. Because f this, many peple d nt knw they have the cnditin. Peple with untreated a-fib are abut five times mre likely t suffer a strke(中风). In the United States, a-fib causes an estimated 130,000 deaths and 750,000 hspitalizatins each year.
