    (1)request在此作名词,意为“要求;请求”。多指比较正式的请求,其后常接介词fr,引出请求的具体内容。eg: They have made an urgent request fr internatinal aid. 他们紧急请求国际援助。

    (2)request还可作动词,意为“要求;请求”。常见用法有: ①request sth. (frm sb. ) (向某人)请求某事/某物 eg: She requested permissin t take part in the match. 她请求允许参加比赛。 ②request sb. (nt) t d sth. 请求/要求某人(不要)做某事 eg: The dctr requested me nt t smke. 医生要求我不要吸烟。 ③request + that从句 要求…… 此时that从句要用虚拟语气,即用“shuld+动词原形”,shuld可省略。 eg: She requested that n ne (shuld) be late fr the meeting.她要求开会不能有人迟到。
    directin作名词,常与介词in连用。in the directin f 意为“向着……的方向”。eg: Scared by the lud nise, the rabbits ran ff in all directins. 兔子被巨大的噪音吓坏了,向四面八方跑去。 He drve in the directin f Lndn. 他朝着伦敦的方向开车。
    2. These are similar requests fr directins. (教材P22 2b)
    crrect在此作形容词,其同义词是right,反义词是incrrect“不正确的” ,其副词形式是crrectly。eg: He gave a crrect answer t the questin. 他对这个问题给出了正确的答案。 If I remember crrectly, he is Spanish. 如果我没记错的话,他是西班牙人。crrect还可作及物动词,意为“纠正,批改”。eg: It’s necessary t crrect his mistakes. 有必要纠正他的错误。
    3. Bth are crrect, but the first ne sunds less plite. (教材P22 2b)
    (1)direct在此处作形容词,意为“直接的”。eg: I’m nt in direct cntact with them. 我和他们没有直接联系。(2)direct作形容词,还可意为“直率的”。eg: He is very direct, s yu always knw what his real views are. 他很直率,所以你总是知道他的真实观点。

    speaker是可数名词,由“speak(v. 讲)+ -er(后缀)” 构成。eg: Our first speaker is Mr. Smith. 我们的第一位发言者是史密斯先生。speaker作名词,还可意为“扬声器,喇叭”。eg: A tinny vice issued frm a speaker. 扬声器发出的微弱声音。
