That day, I was invited to be a judge of a competition at a college. All of the students had been given a piece of paper with a topic on it.
The first one to speak looked a little uneasy. “My dear friends and judges,” he said loudly, “this is an unfair competition.”
“I have been given the paper,” he continued, “to speak on the topic with just a few minutes’ preparation, while those who come after me have more time to prepare their speeches!”
We were shocked at these words but could do nothing for this. He then left the stage and went out of the hall.
Several days later, I met him in parking lot by chance. “Who said life is fair?” asked him, with a smile. He was confused.
Then I pointed to the cars around, “Do you know anything about cars? When new car is introduced into the market, you might hear some nice figures (数字) from the car salesmen. But in fact, your car never works so well as described—because the figures are shown just to say how good a car is.”
“Yes.” he nodded.
“And if you ask the salesmen more about these figures, they will say all the figures are just in ideal road conditions!”
“Yes.” he said again.
“Can you find ideal road conditions in real life?” I asked him, he shook his head. “So that’s it. A car will sell well and become the real winner just because it can provide strong power and smooth speed on the worst roads.”
“Don’t look for ideal competition conditions. And don’t always think about the fairness!” I told him, “Just fight the unfair and come out a real winner!” Then I got into my car.
When I started it and looked back, I noticed he smiled and waved to me. I believed that he knew what he should do in the future.

A.tell the student that life is not always fair B.show the student how to sell more cars

A.The author was a professional car salesman.
B.The best car provides less power but higher speed.
C.One should try his best to win no matter what condition he is in.
D.The author didn’t feel surprised when he heard the student’s speech.
55.What do you think of the author?

We might usually see this scene in science fiction or movies: people are traveling between cities in tubes. The tube trains are even faster than planes, and people arrive at their destinations in minutes. Well, one big step was taken to make this happen.
On May 11, 2018, the first open air test of the propulsion system (推进系统) for a tube train, which is called the Hyperloop, took place in the Nevada desert, US. The system went from 0 to 169 kilometers per hour in just over a second.
We may feel shocked at the fact but this isn’t the final goal. Elon Musk, founder of the US space company Space X, first had the idea for the Hyperloop in 2013. He wants passengers to travel in low-pressure tubes, propelled (推进) by magnets (磁铁), at a speed of around 1,200 Kilometers per hour. The common speed of Boeing airplanes is 800 to 1,100 kilometers per hour.
Musk calls the Hyperloop the fifth main kind of transportation for humans, after ships, cars, trains and planes. According to him, the Hyperloop is safe, produces fewer greenhouse gases and can work in any weather.
But right now, Hyperloop One is still far away from its final product. One major problem about making the inter-city Hyperloop available is that it could cost too much. “They’re up against airlines, and airlines don’t need to build hundreds of miles of tubes,” said Jose Gomez Ibanez, a professor of city planning at Harvard University, US. So we will have to wait and see.
56.The underlined word “destinations” means ________.
A.目的地 B.出发地 C.出生地 D.户籍地

A.in 2018 B.in 2013 C.in 2014 D.in 2022
58.Which is the fourth main kind of transportation?
A.The ship. B.The car. C.The plane. D.The Hyperloop.
59.Which of the following is NOT true about the Hyperloop?
A.It is safe. B.It can produce fewer greenhouse gases.
C.It can work in any weather. D.Its highest speed is 1,000 kilometers per hour.
60.One of the disadvantages of the inter-city Hyperloop is that ________.
A.it is not convenient to take B.it costs too much money
C.it isn’t as safe as the plane D.it can’t carry too many passengers

At 15:40 on December 9th, 2021, the “space teacher”, Wang Yaping, made some experiments in the Tianhe Core Module of the Chinese Space Station.
“Welcome to the ‘Tiangong Classroom!’” said Wang Yaping.
※Taking a “spacewalk” is difficult

※The paper flower “blooms”
In the “Tiangong Classroom,” Wang Yaping made a beautiful water film (水膜). Then she took out a paper flower and placed it on the film of water. The pink flower slowly “bloomed”! “I hope your dreams can bloom in the huge universe!” she said.
※“Space Happy Ball” brings fun
Wang Yaping asked the children on the ground to put their ping pong ball in the water. The density (密度) of the ball was less than that of the water, so it floated up.
In space, when she put the ping pong ball into the water, it did not float up to the surface. It stopped in the center of the water!
“The buoyancy (浮力) disappears in a weightless environment in space so the ping pong ball cannot float,” Ms. Wang explained.
61.Why was it difficult for Ye Guangfu to turn around?
