学情分析 | 本微课的授课对象是高一学生,英语水平中等,平时英语学习中的两大难题是记忆单词困难以及在阅读中遇到生词不会根据构词法或语境进行词意推测。构词法能在很大程度上解决学生的这两个问题,提高英语学习效率。 | |

1. Lead in The teacher use two questions to lead in the topic “word formation”. 1) Do you have difficulties in memorizing new words? 2) Do you worry about that the unfamiliar words in a reading passage might affect your understanding? | 用学生英语学习中面临的真实问题激发学生学习兴趣,引入话题。 | |
2. Activate background knowledge Ask Ss what they know about word formation? | 激活学生背景知识,确定教学起点。 | |
3. Think and learn Mainly use the inductive method to lead Ss to find out different types of word formation. (1) Ss look at some familiar words such as bookstore, everywhere, weekend and sunset and analyze how these words are formed to elicit the first type of word formation: compounding. (2) Ss analyze the different parts of speech of the same words and realize the fact that the same words can mean differently when we change their part of speech, which elicit the second way of word formation: conversion. a) Our classroom is very clean. b) We clean our classroom every day. (3) Use the network buzzword “YYDS”, which is very familiar to the Ss, to lead in this part. Ss think about what “VIP”, “DIY”, “NBA” stand for to understand the third type of word formation: abbreviating. (4) Guide Ss to think about the usage of prefix and suffix with the example of “like, dislike, unlike, unlikely, likely and likeness”. Explain the functions of prefix and suffix.
