    Dear Miss Li,I’d like t thank yu fr giving mney t Animal Helpers. I’m sure yu knw that this grup was set up t help disabled peple like me. Yu helped t make it pssible fr me t have Lucky. Lucky makes a big difference t my life. Let me tell yu my stry.
    What wuld it be like t be blind r deaf? Or imagine yu can’t walk r use yur hands easily. Mst peple wuld never think abut this, but many peple have these difficulties. I can’t use my arms r legs well, s nrmal things like answering the telephne, pening and clsing drs, r carrying things are difficult fr me.
    Then ne day last year, a friend f mine helped me ut. She talked t Animal Helpers abut getting me a special trained dg. She als thught a dg might cheer me up. I lve animals and I was excited abut the idea f having a dg.
    After six mnths f training with a dg at Animal Helpers, I was able t bring him hme. My dg’s name is Lucky — a gd name fr him because I feel very lucky t have him. Yu see, I’m nly able t have a “dg helper” because f yur kindness!
    Lucky is very clever and understands many English wrds. He can understand me when I give him rders. Fr example, I say, “Lucky! Get my bk,” and he des it at nce.

    be sure that“认为……一定会;确信”,主语必须用表示人的名词或代词来充当,that可以省略。be sure后面还可以接由whether,where,when,wh等引导的名词性从句,这时主句通常为否定形式。
    【拓展】 be sure t d sth. 表示“肯定/一定会做某事”; be sure f/abut sth. 表示“对某事有把握”; t be sure 表示“诚然;的确”。

    make it +adj.+fr sb.+t d sth. 使(某人)做某事变得……
    例:这座石桥使村民过河变得方便起来。 This stne bridge makes it cnvenient fr the villagers t crss the river.
    “make +宾语+宾语补足语”结构的其他形式: (1)“make +宾语+形容词”, 意为“使某人/某物处于 某种状态” 例:轻音乐总是令我放松。 Light music always makes me relaxed.
    例:那位老师尽力使自己成为学生们的好朋友。 The teacher tries his best t make himself a gd friend f his students.
    (2)“make +宾语+名词(短语)”,意为“使某人/ 某物成为……”。
    (3) “ make +宾语+ d sth.”,意为“让某人做某事”。
    例:不要再让那个小孩哭了。 Dn’t make the baby cry anymre.
    make, let等使役动词以及lk, watch, see, hear, listen等感官动词在主动语态中常接不带t的动词不定式作宾语补足语,但是在被动语态中t要还原。
    3. Lucky makes a big difference t my life.
    make a difference (t)意为“(对……)有影响;(对……起)作用”。 difference 前面还可用 sme,big,great 等词修饰,make a big /great difference表示“有重大影响;起很大作用”。
    【拓展】 make n difference 没有影响;无关紧要 make all the difference 关系重大;大不相同
    例:她是否富有对我并没有影响。 Whether she is rich r nt makes n difference t me.

    imagine作动词, 意为“想象;设想”, 不可用于进行时。其名词形式为 imaginatin,意为“想象”。

    例:他试着想象是在月球上。 He tried t imagine being n the mn.

    excited为形容词, “兴奋的;激动的; 感到兴奋的”be excited abut… 对……感到兴奋。
    例:听说你们的成功,我们非常兴奋。 We are very excited abut hearing f yur success.
    【拓展】exciting与excited
    (1) exciting 令人兴奋的,表示某事(物)给人的 感受,主语一般是物,在句中作表语或定语。
    例:这个消息让我们兴奋得无法入睡。 The news is s exciting that we can’t g t sleep.
    (2) excited感到兴奋的,表示人的心理感受, 作表语时,主语一般是人。
    例:每个人都为这胜利的消息而激动。 Everybdy was excited at the news f victry.

    be/feel lucky t d sth. “做某事感到很幸运”其中lucky为形容词, 意为 “幸运的”。

    shw作动词,“出示;显示”。shw sb. sth./shw sth. t sb.把某物给某人看。
