Step3: Post-writing | Guide the students to read and discuss the plot summary of the play"Blue Bird" and have a preliminary understanding of the writing mode of the plot summary. Task1:Let the students read the summary of The Blue Bird independently and understand the general ideas. Task2:Let the students think about the three questions in the book.Then discuss in groups.
Possible answers: 1. The first paragraph. 2. The play's climax of the play happens when Tyltyl discovers the Blue Bird has been there in his home all the time. 3. The theme of the play is that happiness is to be found not in luxuries, but in simple things, such as family life, acts of friendship and kindness. Task3:Encourage the students to discuss the excellent qualities of Tyltyl and Mytyl embodied in "Bluebird". Activity1:Explain to the students what’s a plot summary. I.简要介绍:概要写作要求根据所提供的材料写一篇 60词左右的内容概要,其中所提供的短文词数在350 以内。所选材料的题材和体裁没有限制,常规逻辑上,体裁以说明文、议论文为主,辅以记叙文等文体。题材则以考生熟悉话题为主,段落相对较清晰。 II.这一题型主要考查学生对文章主旨大意的概括和准确获取关键词的能力,同时考查学生的语言概括能力和对文章整体结构的把握能力。具体来讲涉及三项核心能力: ①提取文本的关键信息(即要点); ②用自己的语言对关键信息重新措辞; ③清晰、有逻辑、连贯地呈现要点。 III.注意事项: ①概要应包括原文中的主要事实,略去不必要的细节。 ②安排好篇幅的比例,概要应同原文保持协调,即用较多的文字写重要内容,用较少的文字写次要内容。 ③注意要点之间的衔接,要用适当的关联词语贯通全文,切忌只简单地罗列一些互不相干的句子,但也不要每两句都加一个关联词语,以免显得生硬。 ④尽量使用短句,慎用长难句。多使用概括性词语,少用具体描述性词语。不排斥用原文的某些词句,但不要照搬原文的句子,如果不能完全用自己的话语表达,至少对原文句子做一些同义词替换,如果结构上也能有一些转换会更好。 ⑤计算词数,看是否符合规定的词数要求。以60词左右为宜。 Activity2:Introduce some common sentence patterns for writing an continuation. According to a recent survey, 12 is the magic number. It is the most common age for kids to get their first cell phone. But13% of children aged 6 to 10 already have one. That's more than one out of every 10 kids. Pro-cell phone people, including many parents, notice that cell phones help kids keep in touch with their friends and families. They believe that cell phones are an important tool in a dangerous situation. Kids can stay connected with their parents at all times, whether it's to ask for a ride home from soccer practice or to receive a good-luck text message before a big game. Plus, some cell Phones designed for kids can be controlled with settings that allow the phone to only be used in parent-approved ways, What's the harm in that? But other people are worried about the health and safety effects of kids cell phones. They believe that plugged in kids could be missing out on other activities, such as playing outside or hanging out with friends, and that sending text messages or fielding phone calls while doing homework is bad for concentration. They say that kids are spending too much time texting instead of talking to each other. “Our brains evolved(进化)to communicate face to face,” says Gary Small, a professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, in California.“A lot of this is lost with texting.” And some experts are also concerned about possible health risks. They worry that radiation or energy waves released by cell phones could be harmful to young people.To be safe, many pediatricians advise limiting talk time.
