Right now, there are more than 1000 million hungry people in the world according to the UN. Many children go to sleep with hunger, and 15 million of them die of hunger each year.
There are several reasons why there are food shortages. First, there have been more droughts(干旱) and floods recently. Also, a growing population makes feeding everyone more difficult.

Now students’ English handwriting gets worse and worse. That makes their teachers feel worried. Is your English handwriting beautiful? If not, here is some advice to help you.
Using paper with lines can keep you writing straight instead of up or down when you write English words or sentences. Those lines on the paper can help you to write words in the right size. Be sure to use the lined space completely. And make sure those capital letters (大写字母) are written properly.
If your writing is hard to read, try slowing down a little. For some kids, going slower makes the handwriting clear. If you write too quickly, it’s hard for you to stop where you should, and even worse, you may make more mistakes.
When you hold your pencil the correct way, writing is much nicer. Some kids press down really hard when they write. That makes the handwriting not nice. Try to be relaxed and don’t hold the pencil so hard. Let your writing appear nice and clean. If you do so, people will guess you are a student with a good habit.
Drawing can improve your handwriting. You need to use the skills to control your pencil better while you are drawing pictures. Even though you have no chance to draw at school, you can practice by yourself at home.
Handwriting is very important. Imagine you are a world-famous movie star or a well-known sports player, what do you do when your fans run up to you? Give them your autographs, of course.
41.If we write English words too quickly, they may ________.
A.be hard to read B.be written properly
C.be more beautiful D.appear nice and clean
42.The fourth paragraph mainly tells us ________.
A.how to write your English B.how to write in the right size
C.how to hold the pencil right D.how to make fewer mistakes
43.The passage gives us ________ suggestions.
    A.3 B.4 C.5 D.6
44.The underlined word “autographs” in the last paragraph is a kind of ________ handwriting from himself/herself.
    A.note B.article C.composition D.name
45.Which of the following can NOT be learned from the passage?
A.Write English well, you’ll be famous.
B.Drawing pictures can help us write well.
C.It’s important to hold pencils in the right way.
D.We should make use of the lined space on the paper when we write.

Many of us don’t care about the importance of eye care. If you take care of your body, you can surely be healthy. That is why we should give a lot of care to our eyes. Natural eye care should be in a No. 1 place.
There are several causes leading to poor eyesight like not enough food, genes(基因)and aging(老化). Television, computers and reading are also the causes of having poor eyesight(视力). If you have to work in front of the computer, it is best to take a rest now and then. Something dirty can cause redness and they will make you feel uncomfortable. It is bad for your eyes, too. If this happens, the best way is to clean your eyes by using cold water. You must also try your best to protect your eyes from harmful things. For example, sunglasses can not only make you look cool but they can also serve as a great way to protect your eyesight from UV rays.
Eating healthy food will do good to your eyesight. Remember that vitamin(维生素)A, C and E are good for your eyes. Try to eat food groups that have these vitamins. And you should do eye exercises because exercise protects your eyesight, too. If a person often exercises and eats the right kind of food, his eyes will stay in good health for a long time.

There are a lot of things you can do to help your family members and friends. Even little things can brighten someone else’s day.
Ask what you can do to help. Talk to a family or a friend and ask what he most needs help with and offer your services. By offering help before he asks you, you are showing that you care about him.

Let them know you’re thinking of them. Sometimes people can feel very lonely. Just send something to let your friend or family member know that you are thinking of him and that he is important to you. It doesn’t have to be a big present. Sometimes small will do.
